the theron guards have insane accuracy, they can blindfire from 50 yards away and still get you. This insane difficulty lives up to the name. The same cannot be said for the sequel.

you should have left behind your lancer for the torque bow. that shotgun is very useful against the theron guards cause they're slow at firing

The theron guards are not the problem, they're too damn easy, just torque bow them and they're dead meat. Problem is that FUCKING GRENADIER!

I fucking hate grenadiers on insane, you can't do shit if they charge you, all you can do is try to bring them down by shooting on their knees but they're fucking tough, and you can't go melee on them otherwise they'll blast you with a single shot! I fucking hate those fuckers, too bad there's no such thing as a "berserker mode" in this game.
