  • I wonder who the poor saps were that McCain and Kennedy were messing with.

  • John McCain is a Scumbag RINO. How's that Amnesty going, eh John? YOU PHONY ASSWIPE ! This makes perfect sense that he would befriend this murdering Rapist scumbag Kennedy. Neither had any sense of Morals and both cared only about getting re-elected. VOTE J.D......... McCain has got to go.

  • most Ted videos comments have been disabled because he never admitted guilt in murdering Mary Jo Kopechne

  • @k3304 If you really want to know who murdered Mary Jo Kopechne perhaps you should talk to Richard Nixon's plumbers (i.e Tony Ulasewicz) or, as John Dean said on the Nixon tapes, "If Teddy knew the bear trap he was walking into at Chappaquiddick. . . ."

  • @ChrisDutch , you would think , upon dying, that Ted would admit he murdererd Mary Jo on another one of his drunken binges, but nooo. Ted died the coward that he is. No wonder the apple (Patrick) never falls too far from the tree. The Kennedys are a bunch of alcoholic hypocrites who's Dad made his money from illegal booze.

  • If the US Senate had more Ted Kennedy's & John McCain's it would be a much better place that could get its work done. Ted Kennedy a proud Progressive Democrat & John McCain a proud real Conservative Republican who probably always disagreed on the ways of achieving goals but always had the same goals because they knew the true meaning of Bi Partisanship that you take the best of both sides throw out the garbage in both sides & combine it into a Bill in a way that works well for the country.

  • Great new bio (Ted Kennedy: The Early Years) at amazon!

  • I love john mccaine

  • sincere words, that's MacCain. He really spoke from his hearth, like always.. he didn't need a proctor or think or pause before talk...like...

  • he said what the hell at funeral jaja

  • im not mad at john mccain give him a break this is what we need democrats and republicans getting along. Maybe our ideals are different but we should'nt let that stop us from changing the world as Ted did. Its kinda sad how all these conservatives speak disgracefully about the great humanitarian that was Ted Kennedy, yet john mccain a influential spokesman for conservatives was able to befriend Ted so why cant they just let the man rest in piece. Its sad real sad...

  • I know it does not look good, but consider maybe he needed to get out of view to cry. He seemed to want to move quickly and looked straight ahead. Cut the guy some slack. His words were very genuine and he spoke with admiration and affection.

  • I love how John McCain a Republican and Ted Kennedy a Democrat managed to put their political differences aside and maintain a healthy friendship.

  • Agreed. That's how it should and used to be. Now, there is very little bipartisanship, and it's a damn shame.

  • I sympathize with democratic ideals but if John wouldve won, I wouldnt mind - I like his ideals, but most importantly, I find him a man who's not an ultra rep, but a man who looks at a problem from a reasonable point of view.

I am not surprise, nor I find his words politically correct. He does mean what he says.

  • What a wonderful speech. I think he bolted like he did because he was choked up at the end and didn't see Vicki coming to hug/thank him. He did an excellent job.

  • Yeah, all the blinking around the end makes me think he was holding back some tears.

  • I agree. It was like he was about ready to cry and just needed to get out of view. His words were very kind.
