  • awesome voice.so gritty

  • Yes, Bowie borrowed a lot from this song with "Fame". The blonde haired woman dancing is Ava Cherry, Bowie's girlfriend at the time. It's funny because at the time, many thought that David and the brunette male back up singer,Jjeffrey Maccormack, were an item.

  • didnt footstompin turn into fame? like this is the early version of fame?

  • Its amazing how he could still perform...even when on drugs...

  • Thanks so much for uploading this, man. I could have easily gone my entire life without ever seeing this, but now I have, and I love it so much. Awesome channel you got goin on here

  • man this rocks!

  • i think the girl dancing was his lover at the time.

  • Does anyone know what song this is?

  • @Billcruxley The song is called 'Footstompin' and was originally performed in 1961 by The Flares.

  • @DiamondDogsChannel sounds like Fame! :>

  • Cavett just could not connect with Bowie. Too much coke on Bowie's part, too much smarmy midwestern uptightness on Cavett's part.

But Bowie could still perform even in this state. It's too bad the interview wasn't more interesting because Bowie obviously had put a lot of thought into his work.

  • Damn sexy voice

  • Bowie was 27y old..the song called" Footstompin`",he performed it only live during his "Soul Tour" only in the states(Bakckgound Singer: Luther Vandross,Ava Cherry,..)

  • How old was Bowie here ? Can say me somewone here?

  • @Schinkenwurscht200 He's probably 27-28. He's 29 or so in 1976, so.. Good estimate.

  • his voice sounds different in this video STILL amazing tho

  • What's the name of this song?

  • I fucking love him!!!!

  • Say what you like about David Bowie - the man knows how to put on a fucking show.

  • I'm the biggest Bowie fan there is-but this is horrible

  • @cloverthepoet I think you'll find that you're not, in fact, the biggest Bowie fan there is.

  • I am baffled why this track was never released as a single...IMO much more solid than lots of stuff on the Young Americans Album

  • Wow, he is much campier and nervous than in his later years, isn't he?

  • Sounds a little like FAME... "plastic soul"

  • @biffpicks It sounds a shitload like Fame? I thought it was going to be Fame for a while... hmmm...

  • Bowie is my GOD!

  • @angy2323 YOur incredibly high on coke God. lol

  • @Nigelxman Yes,coke is my God too...

  • @angy2323 Cool. Let us know how that works out for you amigo. :-)

  • @Nigelxman Haha, well, well, are good gods.

I am using a translator to write this message and understand what you told me: D

  • @angy2323 I take it you have no prospects for the afterlife.

  • @ConservativeAnthem How did you guess?

  • Great performance!

  • I hate to be anal, but wouldn't this be part five? Regardless, this is awesome and I want to thank you for posting it.
