War possibly but the dance of death scenes remind me of the Black Death, The Dance of Death was a painting about the universality of death a well known motif in the late medieval period. It was inspired by the black death which plagued most of the world. Nowadays, its war which plagues the world the single tear at the end sends a very strong message about the magnitude of deaths caused by war, but there isn't enough time to shed more that one tear. You've got the soldiers who they slap a metal onto so that they can die over and over and over again, just so that their deaths can make up some pointless dance, kind of like how we assign valor to real soldiers that we send to die as a part of this big song-and-dance of war.

And all the chairs with which to watch the show are empty, because everyone's dead. The mad scientist almost shows remorse, but then holds it back and is like "Kill another!"

Is it to all to make none needed useless crap that people might skim through and brush off their shoulder the next second? Actually there are many symbols = pointless "blah, blahs", shiny useless medals, willing "suicide", frog in grass, camera that takes pictures of the dead, man who animates those pictures, dance of dead pictures and the dance of that 'fatso', his coughing and ill-looks, his teardrop and then it goes in cycle again...each of them have it's very own interpretation and it can vary a lot, depending on how do we look at it (from what angle) Also the feeling from it is kinda typical for Poland movies.
