  • Who os the farking lunatic with the hysterical laugh in the background noise?? Shoulda bin SHOT!!

  • Cool, a plastic airplane? What next? A rubber pilot?

  • Boing Boing on da'Boeing..

  • I want a few minutes of flight-control chatter before take-off.

  • Can it run on a single engine? that has always been the safety net of smaller planes.

  • @GarysBeerReview Yes it can. It would not pass numerous certifications otherwise. Begin by researching ETOPS..

  • How is this a raw video?

  • An Excellent moment with no fear! My Question today for sure!..777 would "haveta" be a win but that's not where it ever should end!....(7nine7 sounds even Greater!)

  • Not a raw video at all...

  • WTF did anyone see the near crash at 10-14 seconds!!! O.O

  • Just a bigger crash is all it's going to be.

  • @crispycream FYI No one care what you think.......and secondly people who build these planes beg to differ.

  • @shess0501 To me it looks like a camera or a parachute, but I also call a vertical stabilizer a tail. :D

  • There seems to be a LOT of dihedral on this aircraft...

  • i think its for testing how stable airplane actually is

  • how the hell is that a raw video?

  • Nice wings

  • Forever New Awesomeness

  • That's to measure something, aerodynamics i think...

  • 早く日本に来ないかな

  • i think i just had an orgasm.....lol wtf are these people tripping over

  • @damonsecloro

If you don't know, then I guess that would make you the idiot.

  • @Xenite227 what because its 2 years late? who cares

  • amazingly quiet

  • WOW!!!

  • The sound of tha Obama Zombies drowned out the sound of the engines at takeoff

  • agreed

  • What's the big deal? Is it faster?

  • @sniper6081 It's marginally faster, but the main selling point is its supposed efficiency and its very long range, especially in the 787-9 series.

  • What about the environmental damage?

  • i won't take this plane, just afraid it will fall down....

  • @cheetahhook would u perfer to to fly a new amazing high tech plane or a old crap plane from the 60s that has flown over 200 000 hours(btw i love planes from 60s)

  • Big question. But anyway show must go on.We killing the earth so better to step fwd.

As an aircraft mechanic i can not c a lot of changes from the middle of the fifties.what changed in flying is the IT,and some design.

  • @chiccoka see the thing is i dunno if airbus is lying but there stating that the a380 is very very energy effiecient so i think were also stepping in a newer economic friendly phase in aircrafts

  • Itwas the time to step fwd for Boeing also.I think they did good job and very nice result.Unfortunately the time is not in our side.recession everywhere i really hope the special level who manipulating the whole world will be get back to normal river and let people spend they onw money. The big recession will show us Airbus or boeing will be the most popular.but deffenetly not Sukhoi super jet 100.anyway the brasilian guys also in market so dont forget Embraer.

  • Blah blah blah...

  • Now that's a beautiful bird. Nice wing flex! Can't wait to see her land at my local (EGGD).

  • THATS AMAZING!!!

  • Wow, the wings look very different!

  • yea the landing gear is always kept down on the first flight because.. its the first flight up to now everything things has been on paper and computer no one knows for sure what the plane will do... so its kept down incase it has to make an emergency landing or if the system fails the gear will be already in the down position...

  • well i really want to chat i have pics too so ..

  • I'm just wondering, why is the landing gear kept down? Is there some reasons for that?

  • landing gears are always down on testing my friend. emergency landings are always on the back of the head when these tests are done on unproven aircrafts.

  • Thanks.

  • It's called composite, not plastic. And it's stronger and lighter than aluminum.

  • @Sn0wdawgz

Yes .Carbon fiber reinforcement .But still big question what will happen if a towing car or car or baggage car will make any dents.Water in during icing extend and bummm

  • In the event of damage a repair is engineered, scarfed out and a repair layup is made. In most cases 100%plus of the load path can be restored. The repairs will be watertight. Carbon doesn't retain water the way Kevlar does so delamination isn't as much of a problem due to water. I would much rather do a composite repair rather than sheet metal.

  • My dad was the auditor of the 787 Everett Boeing, He said the plane is made by Plastic......

  • such a beautiful thing

  • stop using "@" ... this isn't Twitter.

  • @rhs2000vtec When you reply to someone now it automatically puts that there..

  • Hmmm. I don't see the "@" for others but no worries, thanks for clearing that up. :-)

  • Am I the only one to notice that at 0:22 there's a small plane apparently landing on top of the 787??? :)

  • T-33 chase plane.

  • ??????

  • @hicsuntleones yeah and its gone a second later i noticed that a load of times.

  • why the fuck is every comment well most of em in spanish????

snyway i wanted to say that the dreamliner rocks!

i found out they cost about 23million$

  • @ukpilot92 -because you don't own the internet you fucking racist dick!

  • @rsanchez1416 hes just pointing it out... it is an Associated Press posting so i was wondering the same. Associated press isnt very internationally friendly...

    hes not being racist.

if you saw some of the people i deal with at work... those are racists.

  • porque los aplausos que paso innaguracion o que??

  • Primer despegue de este modelo

  • has that plane anything special? I see just another plane with two wings, a fuselage, two engines, some windows and gateway, carriage and a tail...

  • yeah it's the most fuel efficient aircraft for airlines

  • really nice plane : ]--is like the 737 or cange wat?

  • brawiii

  • Having flown on both Airbuses and Boeings, I can conclude that Air New Zealand has shitty economy class seating and rubbish meals. I can't personally comment on the performance of either, but I can say that ATRs are rubbish to ride in.

  • Iran Airlines is probably the safest airlines in the world simply because it carries passengers+anti-missile warheads.

  • hahaha good one =) XD

  • Plus it isn't a target of Islamic Extremists

  • @gundumauna LOL

  • I saw this live on TV today! =D

  • Actually, I saw the landing today. Not the take off.

  • I've flown both Airbus and Boeing planes for Virgin Atlantic for nearly 7 years folks. There is simply no comparison. The 747, 777 simply outperform the Airbus A380 and A300. Boeing has been doing it longer and better for decades now and it will take decades more (if ever) for Airbus to achieve anything close to what Boeing engineers have done. The 787 set the bar a tad higher today and in fine fashion i might add!

  • 747 is nice... but the A380 outclasses it it all dimensions - and I say that as a Boeing fan.

The A380 surpassed what Boeing engineers were coming up with: ever more variants on the same old 747 airframe - instead of coming up with a new large format commercial liner.

In the jumbo market, Boeing is at a huge (A380-sized) disadvantage.

  • @Ronestar Quality over quantity my friend. Remember THAT :)

  • You might have flown in them but from a passengers perspective Airbus is what it is all about! You might be ok up there in the cockpit, to the rear of the boeing its cramped and unpleasant and after all the passengers are the customers :-)

  • Gentlemen: Calling the Boeing product "cramped and crowded" and the Airbus spacious is kinda silly, flown in examples of both and the last Airbus (A320) was a sardine can. Try to remember that it's the CARRIER who outlines specs on seating arrangements and not the builder. You want spacious, spring for a 1st class seat.

  • One more comment: You've seen the promo photos of the 787 cabin. You really think that the carriers are gonna feature that sort of seating in anything except 1st class? The cabin is gonna be SRO after the airlines get done with their options so they can pay the airplane off as quickly as they can, not a bad idea in today's economy. Stop bickering about who's "better". Airbus and Boeing and yes Tupolev all make a decent product. They have to or they wouldn't sell any of them.

  • Cabin width/ height not seating as thats obviously airlines constraits.

  • @angloengland Actually this is decided by airline companies who buy the planes you fly in. The company could offer more room if they wish. As you might notice, certain airlines have more room in their seats even though you might be flying in that same aircraft you have flown in before. This is due to the airline companies requirement, NOT Boeing or Airbus.

  • good god, shut that bitch up

  • Damn that woman was yelling like she saw god.

  • How does Boeing feel about Carbon caps, and offsets?

It seems the Copenhagen summit is aimed directly at the aircraft industry.

  • Composite materials - one more design idea for Airbus to copy, but they'll never beat the original.

  • I don't want to upset you Kevinesse... but Airbus was the first to use composite materials, already back during the 80s mainly on the A300, one of its first produced aeroplane!

  • Looks like a scene from a James Bond movie (minus the action).

  • You mean when the small jet tailgates behind it?

  • No. The unveiling of a new plane. However, the James Bond movie had terror action. This unveiling had no terrorist action.

  • mad B**ch yelping all through the video pees her pants at 58secs

  • A lot of people worked really hard on this.

Too bad they are outsourcing it to a bunch of it to other countries.

  • looks nice,... just a bigger buss

  • The Japanese? WTF are you smoking? Boeing gets parts for the Dreamliner FROM Japan. Giver your head a shake, you racist doilyfucker.

And furthermore, the Japanese don't have a major aircraft manufacturer - so you're completely wanking in the woods.

  • Doilyfucker... in the woods... lmao!

  • @ Ronestar ! Why so offended? Of course Japanese! Ever heard of "Mitsubishi Heavy Industries aerospace" They helped developing the 787... what's wrong with that? Many engineers from various nationalities work for Boeing as well as at Airbus! I wonder who's the racist here?

  • They fabricate... but don't sell a major aircraft brand of their own. U.S. has Boeing. Europe has Airbus. Russia has Tupolev. Japan has no commercial airliner company.

  • @Ronestar ! I definitely agree with you on that point. But you can't deny that Japan developed and designed different parts for the 787 on their own... well understood on behalf of Boeing! I think it's a great thing that 2 great nations with very different cultures manage to work together and achieve such ambitious project like the 787...

  • Ronestar- Japs are crafty thieves in technology (U.S. Car industry) Space and anything they don't have the brains to invent themselves. They have decimated the whale population. And killer dogs and rapists of Koreans in WW2. F.U.

  • PALx78--Fuck You you asswipe. Go eat anothr endangered whale with all your JAP friends you scumbag. I speak the truth.

  • wow

  • American aviation technology still beats the world.
