  • it seems like tonys left hook become very predictable but it was is favorite weapon in

his arsenal so he was very good at using it.

  • Didn't this guy play Clemenza in The Godfather?

  • Tony was tough as nails with a murderous left hook but he was a crap boxer. He said himself that the main reason he lost this fight was that it was just about the only fight where he didn't cheat

  • @FerretJohn And he was doing a lot of holding and hitting. But the main reason he lost this fight was because his idea of defense was to block the punch with his face. It's not a real effective technique. He had good power, a good chin (which he needed) and his hand speed was OK. But he had zero defense. Absolutely nothing.

  • @FerretJohn tony was a fat pile of shit

  • Tony was quite the character. To prove he was trainng seriously for the Louis fight he said he didn't drink any alcohol for 2 days before the fight. I can't imagine anyone beating this guy in a street fight.

  • 4:44 beautiful faint and then BOOM.

  • Just found out who Galento was because he was in "On the Waterfront" as a thug. 5'9" and 240lbs...with obvious power.

  • Mixed in with the nonstop holding-and-hitting, Danny Devito threw a nice, crisp left hook.

  • That was a well timed counter that floored Louis. Galento had some skills after all!

  • My parents were very good friends with Tony. I remember my dad telling me of Tony's bar ni New York with the mural of Joe going down .

  • @JimJReynolds Man, that's awesome!

  • The Great One? When did Jackie Gleason fight? Who knocked him out? lol

  • "I'll moider da bum" lol

  • Amazing how Two Ton Galento managed to stay in the fight as long as he did

  • It's too bad Tony never really got into shape, he might have been one hell of a middle weight

  • It's moida

  • Tony had bragging rights forever! Nice knock down Tony! :D

  • umm bragging rights? for being knocked out?

  • @Robstailey . . . bragging rights for having knocked down to the canvas the Heavy weight Champion of the World.

  • vintage slo mo seems to pass a lot of gas

  • too bad there's no footage of galento - gleason.

  • Lol yeah I heard The Great One was knocked out cold. Woke up an hour later with a throbbing jaw.

  • legend louis

  • No Burt I think it vwas I'll MOIDER the bum! LOL.

  • Tony was the pride of Orange, NJ!

  • What a cool dude. Tony once said when asked how he think he'd do against Joe Louis he replied: "Who, never hoid of da bum". Classic

  • Actually, what he said was, "Why I'd moider the bum."

  • Rawcer: Someone asked Tony what he thought of Shakespere and Tony said "I'll MURDER THE BUM."

  • two ton trained at the table, breakfast, lunch, dinner, and midnight snack.

  • Tell it like it is.....Brother!!!

  • in super slow motion, you can see that the knock down was actually caused by "two ton" biting a chunk of louis's shoulder, spitting it out, sauteeing it with some fresh peppers & onions, then finally eatting it on a kaiser roll with dell pickles & an eggcream. seriously.

  • what a left hook he had

  • TWO TON TONY

What a movie it would make!

  • Louis-Galento took place June 28th, 1939 in New York City.

  • what year was this?

  • 1940
