not all beasts, i like little birds, not lumbering beasts like the eagle. I like the little wood finch, who hovers so fast that it stops time, and the moth in eternity, and sits at the lords table and feasts.
Great Video! Love the song! I woke up this morning with a baby woodpecker hopping around my patio. Doesn't seem to be able to fly - just hop. I put some seed out for it - but a squirrel ate it before the woodpecker found it. Don't know what to do to help the little guy.
We knew there was a woodpecker living in a tree in our yard, so we took a gamble that the baby belonged to him. We just sort of "herded" him toward that tree - you know... walked behind him in that direction until he got to the tree and hopped up the trunk. He went up the tree maybe 5 feet and we went inside.
Soon I saw the big woodpecker fly over and put food in the baby's mouth. So baby made it home after all. A story with a happy ending :)
This is the song I was searching for years. When I was a kid way back in 70s my Daddy used to play this song on his 78 speed gramophone. It brings back memories.
This song was very popular in 1940 a hit by The Glenn Miller Orchestra and The Andrews Sisters to name a few. It is a popular Italian song called Reginella Campognola and You can find it on YouTube.
WOW! I watched this while listening to "The Map Room: Dawn" from the Raiders Of The Lost Ark soundtrack and it changed everything! It's like the beginning of a natural disaster movie or something...hard to explain...try it! Oh...GREAT footage by the way. I love birds.
I came here hoping for some Red-bellied "cha cha cha" but this song was just as great :)

Never heard this song before. It's a cheery little number and we don't have woodpeckers in Ireland. I love watching them in action.

That's cool, we don't have real Guinness in the states so it all evens out I suppose.. ack!
