  • Is there any more evil thing to do to a baby in the world? Is it just me who finds this utterly appallling and horrifying to hear?! How can a rich and educated society still do this stuff? To innocent newborns... I'm almost speechless... ->United Kingdom- where you will NEVER hear a mention of routine circumcision at birth thanks be... I'm slightly nauseous now... Maybe from all the illnesses I DON'T suffer as an itact/normal man... with an entire penis. Imagine doing THAT to a baby?!!! :O

  • Hey everyone, look at me!!!... I mutilated a helpless baby!!

    Yeah.... I'm so excited.

    F'in Butcher!

  • ''The baby passes out'' because of the pain, after screaming his lungs out, having his arms and legs tied... Why are the greedy doctors allowed to mutilate babies? The parent's ignorance could be a reason, but the physicians are violating the oath they took to put their knowledge in the service of healing. The foreskin is a healthy body part, there is nothing unhealthy about it that would require medical intervention.Jail for the mutilators!!!

  • Just because it's a "medical procedure done by a professional" doesn't mean it's not torture... If you amputate healthy functioning body parts... why would that not be torture and inhumane? Unless the foreskin has cancer in it there really is no medical necessity to remove it one the first day a baby is born. This procedure can be done when the boy agrees to it at an older age... but forcing this on a boy is a violation of the Human Right to Bodily Integrity.

  • As a medical professional I think you would benefit from the information about circumcision and informed consent etc on the site nocirc.org. I myself have opted out for circumcision of my boy after extensive research. I am for keeping babies intact and dispelling the medical myths about why circumcision is done "routinely" in our country.

  • thay had you do it without training on use of a gomco clamp? or without training by an expericed doc

  • i think the majar problum with circumcision is that is it should be a person,s own choice

as most men in the usa I was circumcised as a newborn and don,t mind that i am on a personal level i still thinks its a violation of a person,s right to chose for himself, as far as any health benifet is concerned that why don,t we cut of the breast of baby girls so that thay don,t get breast cancer ,its something to think about

  • Also: My fiancee and I both want children, and plan to start trying for them once we're married. I'm worried about hospital births in case our child is male: do we need to get some sort of big "DO NOT CIRC" sign attached to our child's clipboard so that no one mistakenly does this to him? Is it possible to meet the OB/GYN beforehand and make our wishes clear beforehand? I'm very concerned about this.

  • @nfinn42 When our son was born, yes, he literally did have to wear a huge "DO NOT CIRC" anklet during his stay, and we STILL had to answer the question from every single person who came into our room. In retrospect, that's horrifying, and I'm very glad that we roomed-in with our son the whole stay (i.e. he never went to the nursery/left our room).

  • @aknesel ok, now I'm just terrified! Prob going to go homebirth if at all possible. Depends on if we can find a midwife we trust.

  • America needs to wake up! This ridiculous procedure is violating, torture, awful, and ruins a man! HIS body, HIS choice! I wish there were ways I could lobby against this procedure without people thinking I'm a weirdo.

  • circumcision IS torture... It's mutilation, and it's disgusting to see parents so blindly allowing it to be done.

  • Genital mutilation is assault and battery from which only scum profit. Refuse the procedure. LEARN RESTORE INFORM.

  • I can say, watching many circumcision videos, of the actual procedure, I as a guy, really didn't get emotionally affected by it, it didn't cause me to feel what the infant was going through, as it were.

  • Would you strap down an adult man and cut off part of his penis without his consent and without anesthetics? No.

So why would you do the same to a baby? Circumcision is a violation of human rights. It is unnecessary, unethical, painful, harmful and sometimes fatal.

An estimated 200 baby boys die from circumcision every year in the US alone. Some die from blood loss. Often the diaper absorbs the blood. A baby only needs to lose 1 ounce of blood to die.

    Circumcision IS TORTURE!

  • Refuse to be part of this procedure.

  • I appreciate that you made this video. And I, unlike some, read what you wrote at the bottom about regretting being apart of the surgery and so on. I got my son circumcised because its "what you're supposed to do" but after doing research and watching your video I'm 100% sure I made the wrong decision. I'm 31 weeks pregnant and idk the gender yet, I chose to be surprised =], but if this is a boy I WILL NOT have him circumcised. I really appreciate this video, it helped me make my decision.

  • So if a male doctor decides that it would be good therapy for the patient if he (the doctor) imposes anal intercourse on his 10 year old male patient, it will be alright because the doctor is a doctor? I mean, after all, there will be little blood, it will be quick, and the pain will be fleeting? Damn, that Penn State coach should have been a doctor rather than a coach. Then he wouldn't be facing child rape charges.

  • @Ricardo1961D Couldn't have said it better myself. Child abuse is child abuse even if an authority figure does it (and they often do). And sex abuse is still sex abuse even if it doesn't involve intercourse.

  • Really? you say that it hurts this little infant but then say it's no big thing?? COME ON! YOu said that it HURTS this little baby SO bad they scream and then pass out, but then you say it's okay? That is SICK! I heard you talk about this proceedure and my eyes filled with tears for this little infant. Poor little thing being subjected to a cosmetic surgery. Ridiculous!!!!!

  • This will constitute a shameful epoque of medical history!

  • So you think that subjecting a newborn baby to the pain of being skinned alive is not torture simply because a "doctor" is doing it to him? That is ludicrous! And, even worse, mutilating his most prized body part in the process is nothing short of inhumane. Sometimes you just have to stop and THINK about what you are doing even if it "just happens to be part of your job". I thought ethics was a major part of medicine. "First Do No Harm" is something to remember and PRACTICE.

  • well, the best thing you can do is to refuse to be a part of circumcision and further lobby to have it outlawed. i am a RN in australia and at every chance, i spread the word that it is an outdated, primative and painfull procedure that can damage a child and has zero overall health benefits

  • yes, constant pain.

  • Thank you for your honesty!

Yes, circumcision violates basic medical ethics. Shame on the American medical profession.

  • skip the damn mutilation bit! NOW! natural is the way to go!

  • it is torture silly goose!

    noun

    1. the act of inflicting excruciating pain, as punishment or revenge, as a means of getting a confession or information, or for sheer cruelty.

    2. a method of inflicting such pain.

    3. Often, tortures. the pain or suffering caused or undergone.

    4. extreme anguish of body or mind; agony.

    5. a cause of severe pain or anguish.

  • @oh2love4love Torturous sexual mutilation of defenseless infants is what it is.

  • The genital mutilation of children is torture, abuse and sexual oppression regardless of the setting where it takes place and regardless of the person inflicting it. Those in the medical profession have NO RIGHT to amputate body parts from healthy patients who cannot consent. This is a sick abuse of power. All children, regardless of gender, have a human right to genital integrity.

  • @MelancholyLogic Yeah now that you mention it. Shouldn't it be in conflict with human rights or something?

  • Circumcision is a primal wound that disrupts the maternal-infant bond, disturbs breastfeeding and normal sleep patterns, causes pain to the infant--even if an anesthetic is used, leaves both physical and psychological scars, and undermines the baby's first developmental task, the establishment of trust. It is always perceived as betrayal by the mother, and it denies the child's right to genital integrity and self-determination. It's his body, it should be his choice. I'll be happy to send info.

  • An OB/GYN is a specialist in women and childbirth. The only reason they get to cut parts off male babies is that they get in first.

  • @coinageboy I disagree. Every word is relevant - but a script, and leaving out "You know" would make it better.

  • There is a growing movement against circumcision. Contact a group like NOCIRC and they'll tell you how to be a conscientious objector. The trauma from circumcision is lifelong.

  • @DaigoDownload There is a group called Nurses for the Rights of the Child (nurses cirp org) that was formed specifically to encourage nurses to conscientiously object to doing circumcisions. They started at Santa Fe, and for years they had a Memorandum of Understanding with the hospital that they did not have to do it, but the hospital is in the process of abolishing that.

  • It is possible for nurses to make a conscientious objection to this. I sincerely hope you took that route. It is simply dispicable that people can see this, admit to themselves that it's torture, and immediately try and justify it because it's a doctor that's doing it. Just because you're a doctor does not mean that whatever you do is not abuse.

  • @JLC981 So true. Americans really get out of control sometimes, you don't see people doing this to babies anywhere else in the world. Not to mention that circumsizion is wrong even if it didn't hurt and wasn't torture. And also it's wrong to make this decision for someone else like this, if my parents decided to have an important part of my penis chopped off I would have been seriously angry/disappointed with them for the rest of my life.

  • Wait, that a Dr. does it makes it "not torture?" Am I hearing this correctly? Like, what if a Dr. performed "sunat" on a baby girl? (They do in Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore...) Does that make it OK? What if the procedure is "exacting," and doesn't remove any part of the clitoris, but just removes the clitoral hood, as western doctors now do to older women who request it in a procedure called "unroofing?" What if a mother who has this wants her daughter to look like her?

  • @JLC981 Exactly. It is, in fact, a ritualized form of psychosexual torture. It is barbaric child abuse that has no business existing in the modern world. And some of the best torturers in the world are doctors. What, you think there are no doctors around when the military tortures someone? You think there were no doctors at Auschwitz? You've never heard the name Josef Mengele?

  • @nfinn42 "The Evil That Men Do" starring Charles Bronson as a retired Mafia hit man, had as the villain a medical doctor torturing political opponents of Banana Republic dictatorships.

  • if there is Local Anesthetic and you don't use it. because it too difficult or takes to long. then you are intensionally causing the victim intense pain ie torturing the baby. as a doctor you are sworn to heal and protect from pain. by causing any extra pain you brake your oath

if circumcision is cosmetic then the only person that could choose to have it done is the patient himself. once he reaches the age of consent. to use proxy consent for a cosmetic __ violates medical ethics.

  • when you said its not torture because its medical. does that mean if i get a medical license. that i can torture i mean medically alter a persons body without their consent. circumcision is torture babies do feel pain

circumcision violates the oath you took as a doctor. circumcision robs a baby of normal sexual function and sensation.

any medical benefit can be gained with proper hygiene and safe sex practices. and if an infection occurs antibiotics.
