I disagree slightly with what's been suggested. My reading of it is this:

Guy and a girl have an on and off thing. He loves (still loves) her and can't help himself but to keep going back to her despite his knowing that he probably shouldnt be doing this... this is a repeating cycle... hence, "it's always wrong". He doesnt want her to know how he feels, "back to her, she'll see the way I look, I've looked".
