True but I'd rather get my information on a band straight from the source or through interviews. As far as genre's goes, it's all death metal and there's no need to overcategorize a band as "brutal death metal" or anything like that. Death metal is already brutal within itself.
You are most likely to get better info from zines. As they tend to include somewhat of a bio, news, and interviews. Or perhaps, you could look at an e-zine or something like that. I tend to get my information from Voices from the Darkside and Disposable Underground. or you could just look up an interview with a band and depending the questions, it might be very helpful. Voices tends to have the best questions. You also could look at the band's official website if they have one.
