The two cannot be compared on body numbers alone, that is very childish thinking. They cannot be compared because 9/11 was a suprise attack done to create conflict. The nukes were dropped on an agressor nation that refused to end a world war they helped begin.

Japan was REPEATEDLY warned they would face severe destruction if they did not fully surrender to the Allies. Their foolish pride made them refuse and essentially condemn themselves to the bombings.

You should know that dropping the atomic bombs was a much better choice than the alternative - a full invasion of Japan (look up "Operation Downfall"). The casualties and sheer-blood bath this would have entailed would have made the deaths from the bombs miniscule in comparison. You should be grateful Operation Downfall isn't whats in the history books.

Did you know that strategic air raids over Japan actually killed more people than the atomic bombs did?
