This straight, the Mulsanne Straight, lies where the FASTEST and MEANEST Le Mans Race Cars ever, They hold the Fastest speeds even before Mclaren F1 claims the crown.

Because of the LMP's "dangerous speeds", reaching way beyond the safety limit, thanks to the Sauber C9, in 1990, they added 2 chicanes in the straight to make the race more spectacular and safer.

(I'd love to see how fast the Audi R8 can go in the straight, minus the chicanes :( )

yeah that sauber C9 ,is damn fast

I think it was at the le mans 2008 for the classic race and during qualifying it went 235 mph on the straight between mulsanne corner and indionapolis and it only went 235 because it was on the rev limiter
