hi mquaters i just got the op-x pro software all hook up and sound , but i seem not to be able to sync the jump sound...i'm getting wavy sound when i play the chords ......i have the sawbrass effect...im also new to synth stuff........thanks rick

I didn't use cubase, I use chainer a vst host that simple rocks! check it out

How do you install and setup the OPX in that? I want to try before I splash out the money to buy, got laptop connected to USB MIDI output which is connected to Yamaha Keyboard. DO I need to install the OPX software anywhere specific?

The chainer will auto run for your vst folders which you should have one holds the .Dll file, its really easy to get that going good luck

Seems pretty cool so far, I can get the interface working in Cubase, but I cant get it to recognise my keyboard. I can get it to play through my keyboard but no interface in Chainer. Good programe though. Seems easier than chucking it through Cubase. I'm still learning though.

Kewl, you can adjust all in chainer your setup the midi keyboard and whatever sound care download ASIO4all its free and it willreally help ya, also you can record with chainer, and look at all the channels you have to add different VSTs then save as a preset to recall later on, mess around with it you will really dig it.

I do like this chainer, sadly I have done something and I have lost the sound... I have MIDI in and out signal, just no sound coming out of the speakers on the laptop... I'll have to battle on with it, surely something simple.

How I run all my vsts without a host is I use chainer, seems to work ten times better then run that out of my lap top to two nice studio monitors, this will make a huge difference, I also had a alesis quad at one time before I found all my vst Fxs check out chainer

why is it the op-x doesnt sound as 'fat' on my setup, it just sounds loud and annoying.

Whats your setup? I sold my oberheim after getting this, I like it that much, however I run through a set of studio montiors with some fxs and mind sounds ok?

I am running it as a VST in Cubase, and control it with my Oxygen 49.

I haven't routed it through any fx other then Sonalskis compressor/EQ.

OB-X is not a bad synth. It is in fact one of the most known synth in the world. No other synth than the OB-X can recreate JUMP.

No, I love the OB-X, it just has been sort of renamed the "Jump Synth", while lots more people who used it ie. Rush never really got credit for it.

I can get my Yamaha Cs2x techno sample player keyboard to sound very similar to "JUMP". It's a very basic synthesizer sound.

Having heard the real thing, I was quite disappointed in the software version. They have a lot of work to do before it sounds anything like a real OB-X

Really?? Im sorry to hear that, I know I sold my Oberheim ob8 after I played mine!! I was that impressed and they keep revamping the software,did you use any fx with her or play dry? I mean the ob8 sounded ok not so great dry I had to add icing on the cake. Fxs beefs her up and add color to her!!

I truly think so!! 6voice and Im sure Peter over at sonic is not done with this dream, and that what this software is to me a dream come true, i played it side by side with my OB8 Dead on Identical!!! Actually like the sound of the software better!!

Latency none for me why I use Indigo-IO sound card, CPU usage Minimal for myslef Plugin I use a program called chainer, hope this helps its well worth the money!!
