  • IMHO, the 1991 Town Car should've gotten the award instead, since '91 is when it finally got bumped up from its crummy 150hp lo-po 5.0L to the 190hp 4.6L (210hp with dual exhaust) - the '90 had the new body but old motor/tranny. I had a '90 Town Car and it sure rode nice, but it was an absolute slug and it SUCKED for highway merging/passing power. My dad's stock minimal-optioned '92 Crown Vic would've ran circles around the '90 Town Car (and not just from the weight difference).

  • I do like this generation of Town Car, but my favorite is 98-02

  • I've always been a Lincoln fan, when i first saw this commercial i liked the new body style but was still stuck on the old box shape body style, but things got really bad for Lincoln when they were officially utilized as taxi cabs in New York. As a New Yorker all my life i was offended that a prestigous luxury automobile was reduced to a mag wheel traveling, gypsy looking, rolling piece of garbage car driven by non-desdript foriegners who know nothing about the true status of a Lincoln Town Car

  • yea but lincoln is better than cadillac cause CADDYS ARE NOT CADILLACS ANY MORE

  • lincoln needs to get some inspiration from lexus...now that the town car is dead, it was a huge car but little room in it...

  • This looks like a Duran Duran video. LOL

  • I love my 1990 Town Car, shes an amazing riding car!

  • I know they do ride very nice my grandma had 1993 when i was little it was a good riding car she misses that car.

  • Love the car! Wish I could have one... Just great!

  • My friend has 1994 Town Car, it's nice.

  • i have a 91 town car signature series and i have been lookin on the internet to see if any site would be selling the chrome plating on the door but i guess the 91 signature series is a rare one, cause i have yet to find one, can anybody help!!!???

  • WOW!!!

  • I'm getting a 1990 lincoln town car for my 16th birthday!

  • nice choice. my first car was a 1994 town car. i was 16, but that was 7 years ago but i still have it in my garage, next to my 2007 honda civic si (really nice car)

  • arg!! i r almost 16, U LUCKY BISCUIT , I LUV THIS CAR

  • good car

  • it looks like a hearse.

  • I laugh pitifully at someone like yourself with such lack of taste in cars. philistine! lol

  • I live in Mexico and I have a 95 lincoln continental on mint condition and I love it we bought it new and It is not a piece of crap , very few times I have take it to the machanic, my grandpa has a 92 town car and he loves it .

  • if you dont like the damn car dont watch th video and dont comment - damn

  • The paint on that car was flawless

  • Lincoln Town Car: Buy it brand new for $46,000, re-sell it directly after that for $10,000. Best investment in a car *ever.*

  • I understand your point. I think both GM and Ford will have to cut whole divisions and reorganize to survive though before this is over. When that happens GM will lose Saturn, GMC trucks/suv, Hummer, and maybe Pontiac. Ford will lose Mercury, and probably Lincoln. Maybe Lincoln gets rolled into Ford dealers and they keep 1 or 2 Lincoln models.

  • Cadillac sold 160k units in 2008. Lincoln sold 100k units in 2008. You do the math.

  • Cadillac is owned by General Motos, Lincoln is owned by Ford. GM is in far worse shape than Ford is at this moment. It doesn't matter if Cadillac sold a million cars. If GM goes under, so does Cadillac.

  • ...and that is EXACTLY why GM won't go under.

  • Comment removed

  • My relatives would buy a Town Car and drive it until they hit the warranty and then trade it in for a Cadillac and vice versa. I preferred the Cadillacs frankly. I dont think Lincolns going to make it out of this recession alive.

  • Well Cadillac would be the first to disappear as GM is in a whole lot worse shape than Ford is.

  • sexy

  • shit car

  • Fuck Jap craps!

    Fuck Hyundai Genesis!

    White Power!

  • Ford made this car too round for a big luxury cruiser. It looked like a bigger Taurus. I thought the previous body style (1980-89) was much better looking, and the one before was better still.

  • all towncars are sexy - and they have a respect that no other could- if it wasnt for lincoln there would be no cadillac -do you research budd

  • @cadillacdevile Well put!

  • LINCOLN is Love of my Life (L)(L)(L)

  • 90 was the last year for the 5liter, I have a 97 crown vic. can anyone tell me w/ the 5.0 panthers were like in comparision to the 4.6?

supposedly the 4.6 is said to have better power and gas. My 97 vic can get up to 28mpg.

  • The ford 4.6L IMO is one of the best designed American modular engines to date. Great blend of power, reliability, efficiency, and ease of maintenance. There has been many variations of it and is still used in new production vehicles, theres been 2, 3, and 4 valve (aluminum) 4.6s such as my Marauder's. Only thing is, that early versions of the 4.6 are notorious for valve stem seal leaks causing oil burn off on throttle.

  • Time flys by its hard to belive the 4.6's been around almost 20 years

  • I am buying a '94 from some friends, original owners. How is that supposed to be? Pretty good?

BTW, I love this video. I have been looking for anything related to the '94 Lincoln TC.

  • everyone knows that 5.0L was better than 4.6 and live longer.

i drive mine 1990 TC Signature 160PS 5.0L on LPG!!! and my max was 575km on 68 liters of LPG (when LPG was 0,50€/L)

it cost me as much as driving 1.5L toycar on fuel.

  • Good enough to still be the engine in the 2008 Town Car

  • u obviously don't know what u are talking about. if u want soft and reliable ride take a lincoln cause u don't get it with a jap crap

  • Lovely Car, I own a 1994 myself.....wouldnt sell it for anything :)

  • You are so right. I own a new Town Car and Expedition & looked at GM's equals before committing to buy.....no way in hell I'd buy a GM SUV or Caddilac... Who in the hell wants to take out the 3rd row seat in a GM suv?.... when the Ford just goes down flat at the push of a button. Fords designs are much better & more functional. Ford is better & higher quality, as suported by sales reports.

  • town car is a nice car...but the problem is that many many "taxi" use town car..which really..ruined it...when you buy one it felt like being a taxi driver when you are in it (atleast thats what i'll feel) further more, MB, bmw, lexus took most of the market for luxury car, there aren't much space for Lincoln ..

  • With Lincoln's new products, they are seeing sales increase consistantly month after month and it wont be long, the new MKS will be out and it is one hot car!

  • All those GM cars mentioned here suck. The 1990 Lincoln Town Car to me, Is the best luxury car ever made. I always remebered when I was a little kid when me father bought home a new 90 Town Car Signatures series. To me it was the best car ever at it still is. I grew up having a Town car on the driveway and my life was saved in a Town Car. With that sweet 5.0 V8 under the hood, it can be midded as much as a mustang. 1990 & 1998 are my favorite years.

  • I agree wigh you that the 1990 is a very nice one, but have you ever seen the 1979 Town Car?

that is the best one ever made, long, flowing lines, 21 foot long body, the pplushest seats known to mankind, that was the last of the full size cars :)

  • Oh I know, my dad has had all those types back in the day, and they're beautiful cars with those 7 liter V8's under the hood. I grew up in the 90's and I 3 years old when it was purchased. To me, the 90 was best to me becasue that was the first Lincoln I was ever introduced to as a kid and I really loved it. And looking back to everthing that was made. Honestly, this also aplies to the 84 to 92 Lincoln Mark 7 which was also an awsome car. We had a secondary 92 LSC as well.

  • yeah, im 15 here, and am not really a fan of the Mark series, but my favorite Mark is the Mark V, but I like all Town Cars from 1977 to 1994.

the 1979 is prolly my favorite though out of all of them.....the Mrk V had that 460 V-8 (7.5 liters) Police Interceptor engine lol...it only got like 10 MPG

  • i once owned a 79 town car..my brother wrote it off after he ran a red light and hit a transport truck cab doing what he says was 45mph but the police reports says he was going at least 65mph +. She held up and and we walked out of it...My poor TC wasa write off and ever since he hasn't touched one of my cars.

  • lol thats a shame....such a nice car......Yeah, I wpuldnt let him touch my car either....lol

  • GO AHEAD BABY.....YA LOOK GOOD !

  • Import fans can kiss my ass. They're all too influenced by the media which overrates Mercedes, Lexus and BMWs. I personally don't consider unibody cars luxury.

Lincolns (except MkZ and MkX, of course) are luxurious in their own way. Cadillac, which has got a Frenchie name, makes me hesitate... but they are good cars, too.

  • Shintsu2 has the fucking balls to talk about buick?.. WTF! lol HEY GM DUMBSHIT! Town Car has higer ratings than that p.o.s you call Riviera. You still don't learn do you, Mark VIII is still faster dumb fuck. Pull the head out of your ass... Oh wait, your Riviera is up there.. lol Good place for a pinus looking car to be, up your ass. You must be gay to have that car date rape you! lol

  • omfg u make me laugh!!!!! ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!

  • Town Car is getting phased out by 2010. Ford already stated that there was no plans to keep it in its lineup after 2010. With good reason, the first gen baby boomers are now in their 60's and they grew up on muscle cars. A lot of Baby Boomers don't want a to drive a big bulky car like the generation before them.

  • Please get rid of Shintsu2. He doesn't know a car when he sees one.

  • Please do get rid of them, they're just ugly. Only old people buy Town Cars.

  • Huh, that's weird... I'm 20 and I have owned two of them. Jackass.

  • Well, there are always idiots who make excepetions to the rule! I'd take a Buick before a Lincoln anyday and a Caddy in a heartbeat.

  • Idoits.. lol Your one to talk. Buicks and Caddys are owned by a lot of old people to GM dumb ass! lol ever been to your local church yet?..lol the people with there cains and walkers are by the bus loads just waiting to get in there buicks, just to go 10mph to there restraunt of choice lol.

  • Oh, you mean the cheaply built front wheel drive pieces of shit that GM calls luxury cars? Yeah, good choice dude. Cadillac hasn't been cool since 1968 when they fucked up their entire line with FWD and Buick stopped putting out cool cars in the early 70's.

  • I love my Riviera, kicks Mark VIIIs ass and I'd love to have an Eldorado. Lincoln is built like cheap shit, you stupid fuck. GM is much higher quality, only a total dumbass would think they're worse than Ford. Ford makes nothing but cheap ass plastic dashes that rattle, squeek and fall apart!

  • I'd rather have a car that can drive, and after the Eldorado's CV shafts catastrophically fail on you you'd better get used to walking. Cadillac was awesome until 1969. After that, the cars looked okay but their downfall was Wrong Wheel Drive. That's why Lincoln outsold them throughout the 70's and 80's, and still maintains the best crash test safety ratings of any car from any manufacturer. I'm sorry, but over the course of history Lincoln made quite a few less mistakes than Cadillac.

  • Or people looking for real luxury that can afford it. (I own a 2005 & a 2007, and I am 29). Have fun in your DTS. Front wheel drive cars are awesome! Not!!

  • Have fun having no horsepower and a big ugly car. No one thinks of Lincoln as luxury, they're just boring. When you say luxury people think of Lexus, Mercedes, BMW, all non-american brands. Imported luxury is truly nicer than American but Cadillac is still nicer than Lincoln. Where are the 400+ hp Lincolns to compete with the CTS, STS, and XLR Vs?

  • Big, ugly, Are you fucking kidding me, coming from someone who drives an ass-fucking ugly buick riviera??? If we were to make a poll I guarantee to Riviera would not come before the towncar as physically more attractive. And I guess thats why the lincoln towncar has been one of this country's best selling most successful LUXURY vehicles. Why don't you read up on the subject, at least go on wikipedia before ranting your useless opinion, you GM fanboy dumb fuck.

  • Suck a dick you dumb shit. What fucking cock rider is going to say that a big box on wheels looks good? Oh right sorry, I forgot America is the stupidest fucking country on the planet because everyone loves SUVs. All a town car is is a nicer version of a Crown vic. Real imaginative, at least the Riviera is a totally seperate frame and only shares with the Aurora. GM will kick your stupid redneck ass any day, go drive your little Aspire.

  • WTF does an SUV have to do with this? And not that I care much for this award, but, MotorTrend car of the year('90) as pictured in the video above:Panther platform Lincoln TownCar. Not a piece of shit fwd g-body. The Riviera did win the award but back in '79. Oh and whats this, no other g-body's in the list at all...Wah wah wah. So go eat a dick kid.

  • You really don't know what your talking about do you. FYI the rest of america said that Town Car looks good. That year (1990) is the most remember Town Car, people still want this car. Don't hear that about the pinus-mobile Riviera do you.. lol Motor Trend doesn't give that award out for nothing dumbfuck, it must be a trend setting seller. Go cry ok, Lincoln will always pull more awards than buick. Fuck off! lol

  • WRONG! Lincoln Town Car isn't going down by 2010. The Mercury Grand Marquis is. The two cars do go hand in hand (built by ford, full sized luxury sedans), but the Town Car isn't going anywhere.

Unless Ford decides to replace it with the MKZ.

  • Yes, it will be sad to see the Towncar go....I think thats very stupid of the company to drop their best line of cars. They will lose so much money they will cry over it. The TC stands as the greatest American luxary car there is, and also used to be the biggest and longest. It sells better then any other American luxary car as well. You would have to be a retarded moron to drop this car from the lineup. But it says, as of 2010, there will be no more TC.

  • Lincoln should bring back the rear skirts and suicide doors, but that'll never happen.

My all time favorites were the '70-'73 Continental sedans, I think it was before they started calling them Town Cars. Those were the kind of cars that when you saw one coming, you just get the hell out of the way...more fearsome than any SUV!

  • lol yeah thats right you get out of there way lol! Thoes cars would really damage anything in a wreck. I seen a pic of a 73' merc marquis go up with a late 70's caddy and the caddy was trashed with the merc only having a front fender gash lol. marquis and continentals were pretty much the same.

  • nice!!!

  • i own a 1990 lincoln town car signature series and is the love of my life i love that car i woulndt drive and buy no other car

  • LOL

  • Town CARS CAN NEVER GO OUT. CMON PEOPLE! They fill the streets of NYC!

  • I love the Town Car, for prom my date and I rented a chauffeured one, I was sad to leave it when the night was over. It's a fine car, I can't wait for Ford to redesign it and the Crown Vic and Grand Marquis.

  • I think you'll see them disappear. I think Town Car will be replaced by Lincoln MKS.

  • The Town Car is one of the plushest sedans I've ever had a chance to ride in. It rides better than my old Infiniti I30 and has tons of cool features like power lumbar and digital fuel mileage estimators. I can't believe FoMoCo (Ford) was thinking of discontinuing the legendary Town Car. What they need to do is redesign it with new technology and features like pretty much everyone else has...

  • If they would turbocharge the engine to put out over 300 horses, keep the plush quiet ride, provide standard Nav systems, keep the price where it is, I think they'd sell like hot cakes.

  • town cars are beautiful cars and I love them to death.

  • I agree!

  • Town Car is one of the best cars ever made. Town Cars are extremely beautiful, elegant, powerful, and above all, they have a wonderful price tag on it. Its much cheaper than the garbage produced by Mercedes and BMW.

  • You're absolutely right. More people should buy them and give Ford a well-deserved boost. These are great cars. I've owned three of them. I've seen some running beautifully with 300,000 miles on them. Unreal. Ford's well-kept secret.

  • Ford was really on a roll in the late '80s, early '90s. They had Car of the Year in 1986(Taurus),1987(T-bird TC),1989(T-bird SC),1990(Town Car), etc....

  • now the town car sucks. it is crap compared to a bmw, or a mercedes

  • Wait until the new Lincoln MKS comes out, it's awesome. Maybe we'll even see the Lincoln MKR.

  • i own a brand new all black 2007 towncar ballistic (bulletproof)edition. and they do not suck. they are great cars.

  • i rember this commercial myself only i was 5 at the time and my granfather ordered a baby blue towncar wit a darkblue leather roof and darkblue leather seats it was a very pretty car.

  • Nice video post. If you have more, I'd love to see em.

  • I was wondering when someone was going to finally post Lincoln Town Car commercials. Glad someone did. Thank you.

  • Wow, I actually remeber this, I was almost 4, A remember a little while after this commercial, my dad bought a brand new 1990 Lincoln Town Car Cartier. Brings back lots of memories, and was the best car ever, with that beautiful 5.0 liter 302 V8 under the hood.

  • wow, i remember this:)
