Nice Video Arson. I love the size of the lantern but I'm not so crazy about the need for 4 AA batteries. Are you familiar with the GLO-TOOB Lithium? They are definitely more "pricey" but smaller and only require one CR123 battery that can last for 40 hours of "permanently on" use.
@Zuluup: Thanks for the response. I didn't realize I made a type-o and typed AA instead of AAA. All the battery operated devices in my kit use the same type of battery, AA. Logistics keeps my kit more efficient. I agree about the Glo-Toob though. It has 15 modes and they could eliminate many of them and replace them with different brightness levels instead. I wish they made the Apollo to use AA.
Not a problem--I've also standardized on AA's, but could not pass up the deal for the orbit when it came ($19 after a double 'special") I'll take both my Orbit and Apollo on backpacking trips now--I'm willing to put up with another few oz for the benefits of the little lamp. The Apollo takes 4 AA's. the Titan takes 4 D's....way to heavy for packing.....
Ooh. Sa-weet. I was at Gander Mtn in Geneva, IL today and I think I saw this in the flashlight section. I'm gonna go back and get me one. Thanks for the tip, Arson.
Cabela's has 'em.
