  • The setting & costumes in this movie are outstanding however, the consciousness of this movies is highly disturbing in modern upbringing perceptive. I find Victorian or similar epoke horrible. The tight Christian moral rectitude - this is a time where men were untouchable slave masters, children were beaten, schools were prisons, women had no voice & did as they're told. I hated watching poor little David being beaten by his demonic stepfather yet his stupid mother had no voice. Immoral.

  • @Dragon34th once more the style and acting in this movie feels so natural u can imagine it happening back then, like you're really there :)

the director knew what they were doing without a doubt

  • I'm unfamiliar with this production. It is very beautiful.

  • @WildwoodClaire1 Although this is a Hallmark production it is only available in PAL for some reason. Filmed in Ireland it showed on TV here in the US in 2000 or 2001.

  • Gran novela, GRAN ESCRITOR, Gran Película, Música Preciosa, y... ¿Qué se puede decir del paisaje que la acompaña?... NATURALEZA PURA Y EXQUISITA. Erik.

  • oooh thank you, i could not find any torrent :)

  • @ApostleCreed10 No, it's an hungarian who can't speak English very well :)

  • i stUdy it this year 2 and itS i love the stOry and the film

  • What film version of the novel is this?

  • I doubt if Charles Dickens ever visited Powerscourt but even if he did, it has no place in Copperfield. The authentic settings are the environs of Great Yarmouth, Canterbury & Dover. Read the book!

  • my fav film...

  • What a beautiful book and movie! A treasure like no other!

  • My favourite film version about this novel!

  • Looking for the name of a TV programme or possibly a film where a wedding dress features.

I have tried to find out what this scene was for over 30 years. A wedding dress in a tall glass case in a corner of a Victorian

old ladies room, she is sitting on a sofa and warns a young girl who is admiring the wedding dress, not to open the case .

But the girl does behind the old lady, and when the air gets inside the dress falls to pieces..

It is NOT Mrs Haversham in David Copperfied

  • @wellohmeeeeeee are you talking about great expectations?

  • @quelzinhapqna Hi yes! and of course she was MISS Haversham. The series maybe something like from The Singing Ringing Tree set of European short series of imaginative folk/fairy tales. As was suggested by someone. It maybe now a long lost episode. Another suggestion was the Hitchcock TV series from the 60s...however I cannot find anything via Youtube that fits the storyline. Thanks any suggestions very welcome!

  • @xGeerFreedx Er, try googling the English Lake District!!...

  • Daniel Radclife plays this movie. Used to watch series like these on master piece theatre ON PBS

  • If any body wants to know about the life of mid-victorian era ; this is the book to read.

  • God, the music in the beginning is wonderful!

  • I'm doi g a play on this book on wens day or tomorrow it's really a good story

  • I love this story. It is really heart touching.. Cant find ppl like that diz days in this cruel world..

  • betsy trotwood the lady from Ms Doubtfire.

  • I think that the book of 'David Copperfield' is one of the best classics to be written. However, it's quite a bit hard to filmize such a story to reflect scenerios good enough as they are in the book, itself. Even though it would be very different fun to watch the film of if, yet i prefer to read.

  • Haven't read it in years but now I want to, thank you for posting it.

  • @ApostleCreed10 TY SO MUCH FOR UPLOADING THIS I WAS SEARCHING FOR IT EVERYWHERE, BIG THANKS TO YOU <3

  • @TomJohnson10111 no probs : )

  • is it a drawn background he is looking at?

  • I'm 16 years old and today I just finished David Copperfield, it took me around two months to complete, and it's the most breath-taking and inspirational page-turner I've ever read.

  • @HeartComedyDoll i study it this year

  • @HeartComedyDoll what difference does your age make?

  • @nicopapa121

well i reckoned it was quite the accomplishment at that age. Have you read DC?

  • @HeartComedyDoll Hey man I just started reading it yesterday, did you find it a bit hard to read at all? Beacause so far I have had a little trouble but I plan to crack on amyway.

  • @dlewzey

Yes I did of course! It requires so much patience, and importantly perserverance! You really have to engross yourself at the beginning, its a challenge but it's totally rewarding. I'm not at all super intelligent, so if I could do it anyone can!

  • @HeartComedyDoll Hi there. Its been a month of patient reading and by tomorrow I will have finished reading it. It was a good book although ti be honest I preferred great expectations. However I found it so moving when Dora and Jip died, I really found it so moving, thanks for your earlier comment too!

  • @dlewzey

Thats great! It's so satisfying finishing it, yeah I loved Great Expectations too though I found it almost unbearably tragic. I read the two of them within quick succession of one another and their similarities means I have their storylines blurred together in my memory. One of my favorite perceptions I gained from the novel was the naivety of youth, at times I found it frustrating especially the episodes with Dora where their incompatibility became most prevelant.

  • I've just started the book, It's interesting how this was Dicken's most personal work since it had so many autobiographical elements of his own life.

"Of all my books, I like this one the best. It will be easily believed that I am a fond parent to every child of my fancy, and that no one can ever love that family as dearly as I love them. But, like many fond parents, I have in my heart of hearts a favorite child. And his name is DAVID COPPERFIELD"

    Charles Dickens's preface to D C

  • thank you so much for uploading....I've been dying to watch the movie!

  • AostleCreed10, thank you for putting this on. I think I'll really enjoy watching this.

  • i lost interest in this book after 400 pages.

  • @MedusaVenus

why? I'm reading it, and I find it very interesting. I'm at page 200

  • @hindaa11 I don't know. It became boring to me. Maybe i am a little old for stories like this.

  • OH ..THAT MUSIC ..WOW !!!

  • This book is absolutely amazing. I am reading it in class at the moment infact. it is an amazing story

  • Do you have the version with Daniel Radcliff as young David copperfield?

  • Is this the childhood story of the magician david copperfield?

  • @Rayz093

OMG! seriously? I can't belive how people became so ignorant of the wonderful period drama Classics, this is David Copperfield, the most famous story written by Charles Dickens in the 19th century :P

  • who is the person who plays david Copperfiel?

  • I have this book im halfway thru but did not continue to read this

  • I love the story of David Copperfield, This an incredible production. For me, though I prefer the David Lean version. I feel that these more modern dramitisations are too clinically clean. The atmosphere of dirt , decay and poverty can only be brought about by the old black and white versions of decades before. It is the same with all new drama's portraying the early Victorian era. It is just too 'Clean and Tidy'. I had not seen this before so thanks.

  • what year was this movie made in?

Also, I watched "Adam" last week. Hugh Dancy is an OUTSTANDING actor. Wow!

  • Hugh Dancy!!!!

    *___________*

  • that girl looks really young...i mean the pregnant one is she suppose to be older in this movie or what,.. i've never read the book so i really don't understand it

  • yep.. she is a young girl married with copperfield(older than her for many years)..

  • she is meant to be very young.

  • sad story

  • Its not actually a sad story..i study this book i am in 6th grade its really great

  • Haven't watched this, but David Copperfield is one of my absolute favourite novels. It was Freud's most loved book.

  • Hugh Dancy!!! YAY! Daniel Deronda, Confessions of a Shopaholic - he's so nice to watch

  • oh oh how did a little girl like that get pregnent?

  • Exactly which production is this?

  • wow, Copperfield at the beginning walking up the stairs reminded me of Heath Ledger...he would have made a great Copperfield too.

  • the book is great have just been finished with it!

  • I found it hard to read at first, but truly remarkable :)

  • It's 19th century prose - so for most contemporary readers is hard to digest. If you don't understand it it does not mean it's a bad book! One can argue about its' interpretation or whether someone likes or not... But the fact is that its' social message and insight are remarkable!

  • Charles Dickens could make beautiful sentenses thats what matters

  • Thanks so much apostlecreed10!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love this movie, I'm so glad that someone finally uploaded it. great image quality by the way XD.

  • nice film indeed..:)

  • i just finished watching the BBC version that is pretty recent, now i am watching this version... the version i watched was amazing. :) it had most of the cast from Harry Potter

  • i will get booed, but i really don't like Sally Field in this role and i adore her but have watched Maggie Smith do it so well...Sally doesn't fit.

  • Thanks for posting. I'm about halfway through, and enjoying it, though it's a bit far from the written work on many counts. I wonder if this a Disney production. It's just a little too precious and oddly silly.

Anyway, I'll get back to it in a few days. I'm halfway through the book, and don't want to spoil that much richer experience, with this lighter, but still decent one. Thanks again.

  • thanks for uploading the movie
