I actually play exactly this way in lower limit tourneys. The only problem with the passive style in early rounds is that you can end up having to play marginal hands later for all your chips simply because you're getting blinded off. And with this style you tend to take fourth place too often.

The game is fluidic, there are no 100% of the time do this rules, if you can't figure that out, come to my table and follow a ABC formula and be eaten alive.
This guy is ABSOLUTELY correct with this lower limit tourney strategy. The only drawback is that, yes, sometimes you will be shortstacked when it gets down to four or five players. He was lucky in this particular tourney in that he started getting hit with the deck late, but regardless it's still the best strategy.

@helikestv He's playing the effective stack of 1476 at the start of the hand. By raising to 560 & then folding he's incorrectly surrendering a sizable equity share. If the button raised A7o and Marty is shoving over the top with any pair, any broadway combo, & some suited connectors, then he's less than a 3:2 dog against this range but folds getting 2:1. So if he's folding to a shove, he shouldn't risk 560 to win 240. If he does raise 38% of the effective stack, he should call 916 more.
You're right, micro stakes you MUST be ready to call a re-raise if you're going to play a hand. A shove on the first hand will get 4 callers sometimes, it's ridiculous.
Min raises in 1 table sng's dont suck. And the KQs is a reshove all of the time , you certainly dont flat oop expecially with your stack. Not being a dork but you wouldnt beat $20+ sng's and I suspect that your a losing MTT player but a small stake sng winner. Get on pokersavvy or something x

Your theory just doesn't work. If it were actual poker, you'd be right, but it's fulltilt. You wait all day for a good hand and when you're finally down to your very last two chips and you get dealt kk, that's the hand you play to "double up", but by then your stack is so low compared to the lotto players, they don't even think about calling you with six four off, and then the board is four of the same suit, always a suit you don't have, and, of course, the donk always does. Never fails.
full tilt is a fucking scam anyways. Pros who are on the site are people who already domindated live tables. All full tilt does is give them a great contract to fucking promote there company. If you flop two pairs on the site it will be split up 99% of the time if somebody calls with an ace in there hand. I see an OBVIOUS PATTERN . Count number of won pots by Big Stack on table , taking in account for Good Hands , luck and good flops and skill .
I see time after time Big stack gets either best hand , best flop or suck out at end more than anybody on table and I'm not talking about playing great either .
In Tourneys it speeds up game , in Cash short stacks are the ATMS.
Those programs are only good if u ONLY play online poker, if u play live then thats the worst thing possible to use, you rely on it instead of working odds out in your head....
This isnt a winning method,cuz by the time you make the final table if you do even make the final table you wont have any money to play with. Thats why the pros are always playing garbage hands cuz they know they need to keep money in front of them. With this technique you will win 1 out of 30 tournaments.

And when you see "pros" playing garbage, they are always in position trying to set up a win for them on the flop to gain some chips to keep their stack hearty. @Bassaholics123 You're totally wrong and TurtleKnife is correct. The best strategy for tournaments at this level is stay away from the donks early, only playing premium hands, let them knock each other to hell then add aggression to your game once you're close to the payouts.
In early play you should be passive but a little aggressive to. You want to keep a decent amount of money in front of you so you dont get killed by the blinds. You played so tight you dont have any money so its just a matter of time before you are out.

The short stacks going all in and then they catch trips or two pair, etc... Well this is common. All too common on internet poker.
Let this be a warning, Pokerstars and Fulltilt have a program that will even out yours or theirs stats. If you lose a lot of hands, you will certainly donk people, if you win a lot of hands you'll certainly get donked. It's how it is and the rack in a lot of money because of it.
Your addvice is good. having said that, this video showing you being patient and then getting very lucky and winning the tourney is something that rearly happens and you know it. @helikestv He's playing the effective stack of 1476 at the start of the hand. By raising to 560 & then folding he's incorrectly surrendering a sizable equity share. If the button raised A7o and Marty is shoving over the top with any pair, any broadway combo, & some suited connectors, then he's less than a 3:2 dog against this range but folds getting 2:1. So if he's folding to a shove, he shouldn't risk 560 to win 240. If he does raise 38% of the effective stack, he should call 916 more.

You're right, micro stakes you MUST be ready to call a re-raise if you're going to play a hand. A shove on the first hand will get 4 callers sometimes, it's ridiculous.

Min raises in 1 table sng's dont suck. And the KQs is a reshove all of the time , you certainly dont flat oop expecially with your stack. Not being a dork but you wouldnt beat $20+ sng's and I suspect that your a losing MTT player but a small stake sng winner. Get on pokersavvy or something x

Your theory just doesn't work. If it were actual poker, you'd be right, but it's fulltilt. You wait all day for a good hand and when you're finally down to your very last two chips and you get dealt kk, that's the hand you play to "double up", but by then your stack is so low compared to the lotto players, they don't even think about calling you with six four off, and then the board is four of the same suit, always a suit you don't have, and, of course, the donk always does. Never fails.

If you flop two pairs on the site it will be split up 99% of the time if somebody calls with an ace in there hand. Or if you flop two pair it flops so that it sets up a straight or flush, and everything happens on the river on that fucking scam site

@clemons1973 i believe it...riverstarred. so many absurd scenarios. today saw 2 players in the same hand with a str8 flush. guess its possible but way too many beats on the river.usually, though if youre the aggressor you seem to come out on top more often than not; but if you are passive you will take more beats. example: if you limp with wired aces you will lose the pot evan if youre against only 1 opponent. slowplaying without the nuts, you lose.not a "rigtard", just a "not random tard".

@ronaldmarietindall everything happens on the river because now there are 7 cards on the board, 5/6 cards v 5/7 cards, always going to be better combinations on the latter. And the chances the flop is going to have a combination that WONT make a straight or flush draw possible are very unlikely, let alone you flopping a set as well.
Hands like 77 with K72 rainbow flop are like flopping the straight, it doesnt get any better. 77 with 976 of hearts on the flop is a whole different hand

I see an OBVIOUS PATTERN . Count number of won pots by Big Stack on table , taking in account for Good Hands , luck and good flops and skill .
I see time after time Big stack gets either best hand , best flop or suck out at end more than anybody on table and I'm not talking about playing great either .
In Tourneys it speeds up game , in Cash short stacks are the ATMS.

This isnt a winning method,cuz by the time you make the final table if you do even make the final table you wont have any money to play with. Thats why the pros are always playing garbage hands cuz they know they need to keep money in front of them. With this technique you will win 1 out of 30 tournaments.

If you continue to play aggressively with cards like K-5 offsuit, good players will notice and shark you out of your money for it.

@Bassaholics123 This should be your default strategy. For poker, you always have to adapt to the game format and the players around you. This is a winning strategy btw especially in these levels. And when you see "pros" playing garbage, they are always in position trying to set up a win for them on the flop to gain some chips to keep their stack hearty. Back to adapting though, if you see players being aggressive and donking chips off, turn into a nit If passive table is about, turn up the heat

The short stacks going all in and then they catch trips or two pair, etc... Well this is common. All too common on internet poker.
Let this be a warning, Pokerstars and Fulltilt have a program that will even out yours or theirs stats. If you lose a lot of hands, you will certainly donk people, if you win a lot of hands you'll certainly get donked. It's how it is and the rack in a lot of money because of it.

Your addvice is good. having said that, this video showing you being patient and then getting very lucky and winning the tourney is something that rearly happens and you know it. I will even addmit that i played reclessly at times to a very small degree, but when you cant win more than 4 hands in 990 hands then something is amiss with the program.shure you think i sound like a whiner, but im convinced after YEAR AND A HALF playing every day that ftp is a scam.
