  • yes he appears slightly liberal but for all we know he might not be what some people might say is bullshit he might be making technological sense instead of just coming up with some religious fundamental excuse for man.

  • you dont know anything about the mans racial preference or roboticisms based on just how he dresses or talks or decribes something or satirizes it or gives parody about it youre being either really naive or just another sexist and discriminitive "male controller" because to call someone bullshit isnt even naive or insulting anymore.

  • to claim someone is all bullshit is a sexist comment to give your low iq some claim of male unnaturality and robotic perception when you arent really coming from a male viewpoint on race stereotypes.

  • beaucoupjosue is a fucking sexist weinerdog har har har

  • fuck off sexist weiner

  • shit buddy you cannot even pronounce 'hermeneutic' let alone teach anything about it... get a grip pal!!! gadamer rocks!!!

  • MrCropper, it is evident that you are unacquainted with the fields of which you

speak. For an educator, moreover, one who introduces himself with a request for

payment, this is highly irresponsible. You may well be a fine teacher, in other

fields. It is perhaps advisable to communicate knowledge of those, rather than ignorance of the topoi addressed by this sequence of videos .

  • So, are we now judging modern philosophers by their corresponding wiki articles, but not based on primary sources?

    Love your very wise cat.

  • THAT DAMN CAT! I'm trying to freeking learn here!

  • Well try get out sometime and you will actually see that Kant's philosophy is NOT the norm in todays academia.

  • methods cant be interpreted outside of the concrete method keeping the deviation away from mediocrity at a minimal. hermenutics as an approach includes the originality of the thinker in subordinating the concreteness of a "method" for another "method". original thinkers are not unprecedented, but they are deviating.

  • obviously hermeuntics turns out to be an affirmation, thats always already in play, while objectivism is paralyzing and then you have to resort to "psychology"

  • how is your analysis of objects and experience being non-pertinent possible? you beg the question and then call it unprecedented and self-evident...

  • Hermy for short. Just say "hermy". or hermie.

  • Did mary learn something new when she left the room? If yes, then you accept that first person point of view is different than third person. If no, you'll have to explain yourself.

Cropper, you're way the fuck out of your league on these topics. You've never given them an honest hearing or understood what they were trying to do/say.

  • I dont think he's out of his league, have you given these theories an honest hearing? Chomsky says post-structuralist theory is unintellgible to him, so i would like to see how you fair. What matters is the practical use of the obscure ideas, by profs who don't understand the theory themselves. I'm a student of religious studies and hear the absurdities Cropper talks about everyday

  • Hermeneutics is not and has not been called post structuralist.

Gadamer is really not that obscure of a writer. If you understand his historical context, you should be able to read Truth and Method (with a light struggle) to great success.

  • What a load of masturbatory bullshit...

  • funny and not totally useless.

  • your cat is cute, what breed is she?

  • Funny how it`s always a P.O. box. I know where themoney would REALLY go. People = shit liars.

  • " I know where themoney would REALLY go..."

    Mr Cropper's salary.

  • Hermeneutics is not limited to the interpretation of texts alone - although it may be defined (delimited) in that way for certain purposes.

Hermeneutics is an intrgral part of any artform - sculpture, architecture etc. - or in fact any subject that can be described in terms of 'the art of ..'.

  • I haven't watched all of the videos, but i'm glad you did a video on this. I'm sure you'd despise Derrida. its not so much about the cultural influences influencing the reader's interpretation, rather, its about the shifting cultural binary oppositions that influence the texts themselves. Yes, we can imagine a context under which Aristotle wrote, but that puts us in the role of spectators of the thing.

  • Imagine the difference between playing football, and watching football... we can watch football and claim to know a lot about it, but, in reality, we know nothing about 'football'... we know about 'watching football'... the 2 are night and day different..

alright, now go read up on phenomenology

  • you should change the name of the school to "Cropper Sophist Lyceum". I'll play Protagoras.

  • I'll leave you with a Wittgenstein quote, i know you love him... 'If someone asked us 'but is that true?' we might say 'yes' to him; and if he demanded grounds we might say 'I can't give you any grounds, but if you learn more you too will think the same.'"

  • >>you should change the name of the school to "Cropper Sophist Lyceum".>>

Do you even know who the Sophists were? They were you! And back then even Plato had the good sense to laugh at them.

  • I owe you an apology for that last comment. That was out of line. I was responding to a greater-than-usual amount of nonsense last night and my reply to you was out of proportion. I'm sorry about that.

  • I particularly dislike the attempts of some economists to introduce hermeunetics into economics...

  • I don't know how it is pronounced. It is spelled Wiki.

  • Good video.

  • It comes from the Hawaiian word meaning "fast", so I believe it is actually pronounced like "weekee", though as far as I know, even the original inventor of web-wikis (Ward Cunningham) pronounce it like "bit".
