  • my black moore stewie i just got him a couple days ago but hes really healthy swims fine not to fat but one eye is smaller than the other but its not like the eye lid cause thats the same size as the other its just his actual eyeball it self im wondering if anythings wrong with him

  • MY BLACK MOOR TURNED GOLD!

  • @musiciandude101 thats ok that just means hes getting bigger and his REAL scales are showing because he is expanding....

  • I love these, I will get one

  • hi ther i was wondering if black moors and goldfish need heater???

  • @MIZAN4LYF1 No, Black Moors and other goldfish are cold water fish. Water at room temperature is just fine.

  • @MIZAN4LYF1 You can use a heater only to maintain a constant temp, not for truly warm water.

  • I love this video so much I named my blackmoor after Po jsut his names spelt Poe he ahd fin rot but i cured it but he killed my other fish and died when i went on holiday :( I got 2 fish now Tim and Tay :D <3

  • @MrRawrllyX You named your fish Poe? That's so cool! Sorry to hear that the fish died, but I hope things go smoothly with the other ones!

  • i dont have a filter but space at the top of the tank to breath will they still live like this?

  • Nice Fishy. :)

    Do you use a filter?

I just got a black moor in a 10 gal tank with stones. Do i need a filter?

    Thanks. I like your setup.

  • @llnnssccify Yes, you definitely need a filter (I have a carbon one, though there are better ones out there), and also an air pump. The pump keeps the oxygen in the water, and the filter helps to balance the tank's bacteria.

  • @llnnssccify

i breed black moors, and you need jst about the strongest filter you can buy. a 10 gallon is also way too small for them, they will out grow it in a year but till you can get a bigger one it will be fine. but honestly, anything under 30 gallons shouldnt be used, i have 20 black moors in a 150 gallon tank. also, use silking food, cause flake causes them to swallow air which can and will kill them.

  • @xAquaFishyx-- Your fish has a swimbladder problem. Contact your local petsmart and explain what your fish is doing and they will help you out. If left untreated it will kill your black moor. Hope he gets better.

  • i have 2 a baby and a grown up i love black more fish , many people say that there eyes are ugely but to me that makes them even more cool and in a way cute anyway love the vid

  • @MrGman0909 Thank you!

  • can i get 1 black moore for a 10 gal with 2 african clawed frogs and a pleco and apple snail? i know the frogs should have a 20 gallon if thers 2 but they have no problems and are living happy. if i can get a black more ill make sure to get a big one so he has no chance of getting eaten.

  • @napoleontak

god no! first off a pleco fish is way too big for a 10 gallon tank as they grow over 25 inchs. and also, they are very mean catfish and will attack a black moor, and they will also suck the slime off, not eat them. a single young black moor should only be kept in a 30 gallon tank, so as they grow up to 10 inchs, i keep all mine in a 150 gallon tank.

  • @napoleontak no never ever put them with goldfish the frogs get big and they can still attack and nip the goldfish and after a while they may work together and trap the goldfish and stress it out so much it could die!

  • I went to buy a black moor today at petco, but all of the fish in the tank had ich! : (

  • @flippydog101 That's awful! Were they still trying to sell the fish?

  • @PrincessKimberly yes, but i pointed it out and they put the fish into observation. im going to get one on thursday when they get their next shipment.

  • i have a black moor i named mine blackie and he always goes to the top and makes noises

  • Help please! My little black moor goldfish is sitting at the bottom of the tank. He moves a little when I come around but then goes back down. I dont know whats wrong with him, or how to help him! :( i love my black moor goldfish very much and i want him to be happy!

  • aww i have a black about the same size his name is jeb. i love that little guy!!

  • How big is po now:) b

  • In my tank I have a Black moor and two orandas I think there orandas, When i feed them my moor hardly gets anything and people are saying i should move him in a drifferent tank with another fish with poor vision so he has a friend and he can find food more easily I have a 55 Gallon tank with them three in on my wardrobe I could fit like a 30-40 Gallon next to it or i am thinking of just getting a big tank and making sure he gets food

  • awwwwwww

  • you r a reaisis ikeed ikeed

  • Lovley moor there and a very well kept tank

  • @jamiecranton Thank you!

  • hey im thing about geting one or 2 i have a 14 gallon biocube can i get it and are this ezey going and do u have eney tips

    thank you

  • @famousstunners Each of these will need 10 gallons of water, minimum, as they are rather dirty fish. They are easygoing, however. I'd also suggest a good food like Pro Gold (you can find it at the Goldfish Connection web site).

  • My black moor is laying at the bottom of the fish tank up right and not swimming is he sick? and there is stuff coming out of his butt.

  • @FastRCTeam Well, he may have constipation or something else wrong with him. Don't feed him for a day, and if you want to help him breathe without shocking him, add a SMALL amount of non-iodized salt to the tank (don't use salt with iodine added).

  • He is beautiful !!! Im hoping to get an Aquarium once my living room is decorated, there is so much to know before buying a Black Moor I want mine to be happy so no sharps or rocks for him. Sorry to hear about your other fishy, it can be really sad when something so delicate and lovely passes away..

  • Sadly, just tonight my little Black Moor, Rodregus died. ): Po is almost the exact same size as he was! :)

  • Oh, no! I'm sorry to hear that!

  • Yay you posted this on my 18th bday!

you're fishy is lovely! i wanna get a blue Halfmoon betta ^^

  • how big is the tank?

  • 29 gallons.

  • oo so how is po now??? i still have those 2 in a 29 gallon, i just posted a vid about them^_^..should i post it as a video response to this?lol

  • Hey! Po is doing great, and thanks for asking! Feel free to post your video as a response to mine!

  • so is po is like 6 inches now??? is he even still black??lol

    k ill post it

  • OMG THESE R MY FAVORITE FISH X3 THEY'RE JUST SOOOO CUTE xD

  • Aren't they awesome? Their coloring and long tails are so pretty!

  • i got one he cool hes name is shadow

  • I got a Black moor living in a bowl with another breed that is orange... I named tem Salt & Pepper

  • so cute

  • i just got a black moor :D its also living in a 15 gallon tank with another goldfish slightly larger than him. is that healthy? oh and my black moor is named midnight :D

  • I like the name! 15 gallons is ok for now, but it's recommended that you have 10 gallons of water per fish, as Black Moors and other types of goldfish are very dirty (they produce a lot of waste).

  • okay, thank you :D

  • ummm i have a 18 gallon tank.... can i have 2 black moors? cmon its only like 5 cm difference!

  • yea of course!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • OMG My black moor is named Midnight too!

  • does anyone know if its ok to have one of these in a 1 gallon tank?

  • No, because Black Moors are very dirty fish. They and all other goldfish need at least 10 gallons of water per fish, to help keep the water clean, and also to give them room to grow.

  • My goldfish lives in an one and a half tank, she is doing just fine, I have her now for over three months

  • Eventually, she's going to become cramped, and she won't be able to grow outwardly. Her organs will grow, but she won't, and she'll die a painful death.

  • Yeah, in about a couple of months, I will get a bigger tank.

  • woah it looks exacly like my black moor..and mine is called Po too lol creepy

  • very pretty fish, I want one just like that!

  • its like HEY HOWYA DOING EH EH HHHHHHUH!! LOL

  • Ha thats a cool fish, i want one now.

  • Hullo Po! *waves at screen*..That looks like a really happy and healthy fish. {8>B It seems to swim with pure joy!

  • i got my black moore goldfish about a year ago, and its still alive and very healthy. he never got sick in his entire life so far! (proud of him)

  • Are they cold water if so how cold

  • They are cold water fish, but to be honest, I'm not sure how cold, degree-wise, the water should be.

  • i had some of those (they alsways stared at me when i slept)

  • What filter do you use?

  • I actually just have the largest size Tetra filter that they sell at Wal-Mart. It's not great, but I try to keep the tank really clean.

  • i have 2 black moores!..2 years, and 8 months,,and ones gold, and ones turning gold.. and black

  • hey i'm getting some of these anyone have advice

  • Comment removed

  • Very cute!

Thanks for giving him a proper home, he has plenty of space! He might like a friend though...

  • Thanks! He had a friend, but Sweetie Pie, his buddy, died. I'm hesitant to add any other fish due to the risk of disease.

  • Yeah I understand that. I have introduce disease to my tropical fish twice now. But most are not serious and very easy to treat, you just need to be prepared!

  • You'd need a big tank! Goldfish need ten gallons of water per fish!

  • why does my 2 in black moore notr eat well. this is my second one and both dont eat. my 6 in black moore eats fine. why???

  • He is REALLY cute! I love him! You got his name from Kung Fu Panda. Right?

  • Aww, thanks! Actually, my daughter calls her grandfather "Po-Po," so she named our fish after her "Po."

  • We recently got a male and female and they've already spawned and we've got about 12 fry hatched and now feeding and swimming freely. Excited to raise them now. In all we have 10 (6 ryukin and 2 golden ryukin and 2 black moor) fish. The 2 black moor are in their own 20 gallon tank and the others are in a 55 gallon tank. I'll have to post some videos of them soon.

  • Wow! Did you do the whole temperature-change thing to get them to spawn?

  • Yes, when we introduced them its around 54-60F and then warmed it to around 70-72F. The courtship lasts for a good 5 hours before he milts the eggs. They did this all on their own, no inducing. Once he milted the tank we removed the eggs and put them in a small 5 gallon with about 5-6inches of water at around 70F. The fertilized eggs develop little black dots in the middle before fry hatch. Now there are only about 5 healthy free swimmers. They are growing pretty fast. VERY cool.

  • That is so awesome! By the way, how did you figure out the sex of the fish?

  • You won't be able to accurately sex the fish until they are full grown adults. The males will develop little white "tubercles" on the front edge of their pectoral fins and their gill plates (cheeks). The females body will become very round and fat with eggs. This starts happening when they're about 3 years old or thereabouts.

  • Good to know! Thank you!

  • how big is po now? and what size tank is he in?

  • He's still in the 29-gallon tank, and he's only a little bit bigger than you see in this video.

  • I'm gettin 2 black moors 2day, can't wait!

  • Awesome!

  • i have 2 black moors! theyre names are polo and cinimon. i will try to get a video on soon

  • AWW!

    He's so cute.

I just got 3 two days ago.

their names are pluto, photo, and pinto. I love them so much!!! heehee

    black moor fish RULE!

and say hello to Po from us!

  • Thank you! And hello to Pluto, Photo, and Pinto as well!

  • hahahaha. You are so funny. Iv'e got some lionhead goldfish and some ranchus!!

  • hey!

take a look at my new video of Bugs my black moore!

  • Awesome! I'll check it out!

  • hey!

If you get the time I posted a video of my black moore Bugs!

I'll try and make it a video response!

  • Sorry about your other goldfish's death!

  • Wow po looks so healthy i have a slight problem tho i have just bought 6 of these =P any thoughts on names?

  • Wow! Six of them? Black Moors require a mimumum of ten gallons per fish...what size tank do you have? Some suggestions for names? Mine would be Opium, Jet, India, Malarkey, Onyx, and Aquarius. Hope that helps!

  • The tank is pretty big but when they get too big i think i might get a seperate tank so don,t worry about that wow your like a random name genertor =P Anyways at the place i bought them a guy recommended 6 cuz i bought the tank from the same place

  • I just saw a video of po and another goldfish in a 1 gallon! Good job for upgrading! I use to keep my goldfish in a 2.5 and now I am at a 20 gallon! Po looks very happy and healthy! Keep it up!!

  • Thanks! Yeah, the one gallon was just something to house them in until the big tank was ready. Unfortunately, Sweetie Pie, the little goldfish, died months ago.

  • that's one big tank for one fish! Po must be very happy!

  • I hope he is! I think he is happy.

  • well Bugs is a little fatter lol he actually is really adorable. How is of a tank is Po in? Bugs is in a 20 gallon by himself. What do you feed Po?

  • Po is in a 29-gallon tank by himself. I feed Po Pro-Gold goldfish food. It's a really high-quality food that has a lot of great nutrients and also sinks quickly to help avoid swim bladder problems.

  • he looks just like my black moore named Bugs

  • Aw, then yours must be supercute!

  • man is he cute!!

  • Thanks!

  • po looks so cute and perfect! thats alot of room.. is there a filter in there?i love the blue gravel and black lol

  • Yeah, there's a carbon filter in his tank.

  • same fish, same gravel... is this fish my Lilo?? It's so funny it's just like mine :D

  • where is sweetie pie???

    ;o(

  • Unfortunately, Sweetie Pie died months ago, and I have no idea why. Po is still going strong, though, and I'll have had him for a year in July 2008!

  • They remind me of minature hammerheads XD! LOL~

  • mines look exacle the same exept is tail is shorter and its way fater

  • your blak moor looks just like mine it is skiny

  • My Black moor's name is Hai! I LOVE their eyes, so adorable. They make gorgeous adults too!

  • I just think that they're the most gorgeous fish. So dark and beautiful.

  • I LOVE their eyes. My oranda's name is Hai.

  • Hmm. I saw that you posted a video response, but it's not in my video response box. I hope it shows up, but I'll keep checking back in case I need to approve it.

  • i had 10 of thoughs goldfish in a big tank they were soooooo nice !! thanx for sharing ! :) its very nice

  • Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed the video!

  • i just gotta ask

iv got 3 two in a little tank thing and one in a fish bowl is it all right to hav one by it self

  • It is all right to have a fish by itself, but a fish bowl isn't healthy for any fish. They need a tank with a filter. Goldfish are especially dirty (in terms of waste production) and need no less than ten gallons per fish. I hope that helps!

  • thanks ill buy a tank straight away
