I would argue that the map really was a huge factor in the game, and not just because of how savior destroyed the assimilators. In the 8 games played so far on this map, four have been zvz's, meaning that the coaches recognize this map is zerg-favoured. In each of the other games, it has been a zerg player that has won. I know that 8 games isn't much of a sample size, but I just find it unfortunate that such a cool map concept has ended up being so imba so far.

I felt that the match was less epic then usual do to the map. I am not partial to FBH or Savior but I think rivalry's are best played out on more standard maps. Savior played well and reacted very well to the mech build, but I don't understand Cholera's logic about the assimilators being better for Terran/Protoss. Once one is down, Protoss can't even fit a zealot through yet zerg can fit Hydras/lings! Meh, I just don't like the assimilator idea on maps (unless it leads to 2-base carriers, lol :P

As far as I know, destroying one assimilator only allows smaller units to pass while destroying both completely blocks the entrance off. However it is strange that Hydralisks could pass and Vultures could not, even though both are Medium-sized.

Anyway, I have waited for this moment for a very long time. I am very happy that Savior won over FBH and in a such a brilliant fashion.

Who knows? Maybe his words of 2009 destruction might yet come true. :)

Tom, the exact object size isn't entirely determined by armor class--that is, there are more than three sizes of units. I'm sure you've seen gaps that zerglings and marines can pass through but zealots can't, yet they are both small units. The same situation sometimes occurs with vultures and hydralisks.
