  • If you gave this effing broad an SAT test, she'd get one answer right, her name.

  • Shame on you. Obama is not a racist. That is cruel and has no place on TED. Obama is a black illuminati racing into the NWO. Scooping 7 trillion off the top and never creating one new job. Be proud be very proud. You all will witness the greatness that brings down the USA! This is history people.

  • oh and also check out the hour long presentation RSA changing education paridagms

  • watch the college conspiracy for just how obselete our shcools and university is

  • A great speech!!!!

  • MY SCHOOL <3

  • Take all your education seriously!! Just not the bits in your history class that tell you why socialism is better than capitalism.

  • AMEN...

    Love this Woman!

    Love this woman!

  • @derekchewie11 He just became president and now you are blaming him for a bad educational system that has been there for at least decades...

I thought it takes more than one year to educate somebody!!

This says a lot about your education level.

Your argument is makes no sense and therefore should be avoided

  • extremely inappropriate.

  • I don't believe that this kind of thing is helpful to kids who really have it hard. Yes, there are some women who are going to get to the top, but there are a whole lot more women who really don't have the kind of support and family that she is talking about. She should have been talking to parents and teachers, not students, because those are the ones who must give the support.

  • Let's face facts, George W Bush did bugger all in his administration except hit golf balls until 9/11. Obama has from DAY 1 gone around and tried to do the job of being a presdient (engage with his electorate, engage with the representatives and senate). Best of all, he invites you to disagree with him and work things out DEMOCRATICALLY. Do you really have a problem with a president who is willing to engage with democracy rather than ignore or control it? He's no saint, but he IS democratic!

  • @gotaskor We were never supposed to be a Democracy. WE are supposed to be a Republic. Since the Dems took control of congress in 2006, it's been one screw up after another. The president is a figurehead, he does not have the final say on anything. Congress can override him by a 2/3 majority vote on an law or potential law. Democracy is FAR TOO LIBERAL and WAY TO TOLERANT of too many things that are just wrong!

  • America is built upon a governance of immigrants. Finally you have a president from outside the usually accepted genre of immigrants - it's only taken 140 years or more to get there.

If you want to talk about real change elect a native american as president, or shut up. I don't believe the Obama administration has any problem with 'white people', They just want to do the job they were elected to do. It's been a long time since you had a president ready to do that!

  • You all think youre alive ... you are wrong you have no idea what life is. You eat death, you drink death, and your excrement is called society.

  • Did anyone else get the vibe that she's trying to sell you something?

    1: appear thankful

2: Use pity to augment the audiences' feelings of respect for me

3: Use my diversity to create guilt in the majority.

4: Sell them this New and Improved Industrial strength Waffle Maker!

"If you haven't experienced what I have, you should feel guilty and buy! If you haven't, you should hate yourself, feel guilty and BUY!

I agree, Michelle, just don't use your guilt tactics on me. They won't work.

  • Agree with you up to 2 but not from 3 and below. She definitely is selling something but , the filters that the different listeners put on would mean your 3 and 4 would be completely different for everyone listening. for some the diversity would mean they can reach to that height, for others it would be well you had a father who worked hard so don't talk like we are in the same situation, and still some other will agree with your 3 etc... the same for 4. and the rest

  • you can disagree with a person, but it would serve you better to formulate an argument, a description for why you feel that way, but what are you really gaining by voicing such a filthy comment?

  • My comment is no more filthy than her husband's comment about putting lipstick on a pig. Maybe I will be the next to receive the Nobel Peace Prize.

  • Yes, that's right. Obama is obviously a racist. He's always spewing hate speech like 'come together' and 'healthcare for all'. He's so dumb! you - on the other hand - are obviously REALLY smart and completely not racist...at all! God Bless you champ! LOL

  • Comment removed

  • @wasdom01 Obama a racists?!?!?!? lol ok, that's all ima say

  • @Emassenbur I was being sarcastic bud - that's why I've got 12 ups! If I remember correctly, this old comment of mine was made in reply to a racist remark made by s6u6r6f6. I don't know why my comment isn't showing that (?). Maybe I was so keen to deal with all the stupid comments that he or she made that I forgot to hit the 'reply' button and just 'added' a comment. Or, maybe there's something wrong with the way this page is displaying, who knows. Either way, the Obama's rule...literally! :).

  • @wasdom01 oh my bad lol. I didn't know if you was being sarcastic or not. I couldn't tell.

  • @Emassenbur No worries bud :).

  • Get out

  • TS Christian...you sitting in Wrights church too? matters it not...there will always be blind true believers like yourself who swallow the socialist kool-aid because you desperately need to believe..... like "clinging to your religion of hope and change" .....

there will always be people like me to oppose you...because these two are RACISTS

  • I must break you

  • Lots of respect for Obama and Michel Obama.Great people who deserve to be leaders even more than Cliston or BUshes. These people got there through hard work and tallent not else! The world respects good people and tallented leaders like you btoo.

  • This pace real look likes the monkey in the zoo!Long times ago Holly wood made the movie"The Ape".Today in US the real Monkeys "Take over"US. . . .So what we are waiting for?Kill the "Ape"

  • This is not TED worthy. This is just politics.

  • heheh, she talks mostly about women, because she's speaking at an all girls school ^.^

  • Women and men are equal why does she pretty much only talk about women?

  • She actually spent a few moments talking about the [men in her life] and how it taught her about what to look for in a mate

  • I have no respect for Michelle at all, not since her Airforce 1 stunt over New York horrifying hundreds making them believe "Here we go again"

  • Agreed she is in fact worthless

  • uhhh.

  • It's interesting to see nazi's saying she doesn't have the right to speak. Well done TED talks for allowing free speech. nazi's, your days are numbered. The majority of the world do not support you.

  • She's such a refreshing step up from her predecessor, the Joker. Err, I mean, Laura Bush.

  • She has no business being on a TED video. None.

  • The special relationship between the UK and the US is that the Crown owns the US, both of with are corporations.

  • It's just as interesting as TRUE to say that love and nourishment can foster the best of a person and that includes strong, solid education which lead to broader opportunities. Love. Nourishment. Let us not forget, parents!

  • She's describing things lots of other kids don't have - good, smart, supportive parents and family. And she's describing a world where you either have a degree and succeed or you don't and fail. That kind of world is insane and is not the world my great grandparents lived in when they immigrated to America. What about all the kids who don't have good parents? This is a speech worthy of a homework assignment to give a speech in high school.

  • I'm sorry, I just don't think Africans are attractive. Nothing against them in any other way; but I just don't think they're attractive. If there was a "before life" before we're born and all the different kinds of bodies are hanging in a wardrobe and you got to pick which one you will have on Earth, I just don't see the African one being picked out a lot. No reason to hate anyone, just saying it's not a preference.

  • I'm sorry too - that you're a degenerate fool.

Africans come in all colours, shapes, and sizes. Different regions in the continent of Africa have indigenous people who look different from people from other regions within the same continent.

And then of course you have the Africans like actress Charlize Theron, who's a blonde blue-eyed woman.

And FYI fool, once upon a time "before life" (as you put it) civilization started in Africa.

Keep your irrelevant racism to yourself.

  • "Before life" doesn't mean "a long time ago". Nice reading comprehension.

Charlize Theron doesn't have that "primitive man" look.

"Irrelevent" is a really big word, George!

  • It's difficult to comprehend stupidity. It's not often that I have to dumb myself down to view the world the same way you do. Anyway, my comment was simply making you aware of your and every human's roots and that you used the term "African" incorrectly.

  • Primitive man look? You make absolutely no sense.

Actually, "irrelevant" is not a "big" word at all. If you think so, then it's time for you to increase your vocabulary.

  • If someone says something sarcastically and you respond to it like it was a real statement you kinda make yourself look like a big ole tool. Just trying to help you out.

  • Your so-called "sarcasm" failed - not witty and pointless.

  • When someone makes a statement, it makes sense to answer that statement directly; not to reply with a non sequitur.

  • Ok, let me spell it out for you...

You basically wrote that if one can choose to pick what continent they are from, hardly anyone would choose to be born "African".

And I then responded with the point that Africans come in a variety of different looks, thus pointing out to you that what you wrote doesn't make much sense at all.

Now - exactly what is a non sequitur about that?

  • I didn't say "continent".

Have you ever heard someone say that they find Japanese women, for example, to be very attractive? Well, would you jump up and down and shout, "but what about ugly Japanese women!?" What would be the point of that? It goes without saying, doesn't it? If someone says they don't find black women attractive, would you think it clever to point out that Halle Barry is attractive? That's the kind of thing someone who is autistic, someone who can't generalize, would say.

  • "I didn't say 'continent' "

Hahahaha wow you're even dumber than I thought.

Africa is a continent, not a country.

You make absoutely no sense at all and I pity you :D

  • Ah, I get it. A troll. You did have me going there for a bit.

  • Pot calling the kettle black...

It's alright I know you have nothing better to write. Checkmate.

  • Haha you're an idiot. A kettle is used for making tea.

    That was fun.

  • Sure was, troll.

Don't let the door hit ya on your way out.

  • Ya got me!

  • my hpuse burned up a year ago and we dont have the money to repair. Please send $1.00 to 2201 Georgia ave in west palm beach fl, 33401 so we can repair my families home. THANKYOU so much!!

  • She's basically reading

  • probably written by someone else...

  • i like neither politicians nor their spouses.

    power to the people !!

  • You can tell she's not yet used to public speaking. The very first thing they tell you is to never say "uh" or "um" as fillers because it makes you look unprepared and uninformed. She needs more experience. But hey she tried and she has a good message. Don't get me wrong I can't stand Obama or his lies, but I don't live in a perfect world.

  • Whos bright idea was it to let this dopey tart speak at TED?...LOL...

  • I doubt there's more than one at the TED talks. You could also just not click on the Obama-related ones, but still get to hear about everything else TED has to offer...

  • "Im an example of what you can have" what does it have to do with education, she just married the right guy >.>

  • She met Obama in her mid to late 20s. Before then, she was a cum laude Princeton Graduate, and a Harvard Law School J.D. working at a Law Firm. Since then, and before her husband became president, she's accomplished much. I wouldn't write her off as someone who "just married the right guy."

  • Well, how Bush got into Yale is debatable. Some would say it was nepotism in the works. Besides, the dude barely did well while he was in the school even with his family's connections.

Michelle Obama excelled in Princeton and she graduated with honors and repeated that excellent work ethic at Harvard.

Your pessimistic and cynical perspective in life is pitiful but whatever floats your boat....

  • Lazerguy... are you saying you actually disagree with this? --> "It's just a show, fake, fake, fake. I hate politics. They're not changing anything. In fact, it's been designed specifically to remain in a state of paralysis. Progression is their enemy."

  • She's so fake!

    1. you speak WAY too similarly to your husband

    2. I hate how she is speaking about herself as if "she's come a long way" and overcame adversity. That's bullshit. She didn't do anything. It's not like she became president or even earned a prestigious honor. She just sucked a politician's dick who happened to become president. Being first lady doesn't get accomplished thru hard work and education, it comes thru looks, charm, and luck.

Aren't you late for a Glamor magazine shoot?

  • You need counselling for all that hating dude.

You've got someone looking to use her position to inspire and uplift others, and all you can do is hate?

  • Thank you.

Liberal, socialist, progressive frauds like Michelle and Barack Obama are not interested in improving our education system or the reasoning abilities of our children. Their goal is to mold non-critical, victimized, self centered, democrat voting, government-owes-me, sheep. They make me vomit.

  • The parents of my generation were educated in small, sometimes, one room schools.

All they accomplished was the defeat of Nazism, Fascism, and Japanese Imperialism. They struggled through and beat the Great Depression and THEN built the greatest industrialized country in the history of mankind.

Instead of being taught strong fundamentals, today's students are being indoctrinated with liberal, socialist slop.

All we can count on from the school districts is constant whining about lack of funds

  • How many people did you kill with your own hands? Racist, obscene, negative, hateful, war lunatic is what you are. Go and point at others but we all know your flaws far outweigh ours.

  • Michelle Obama is an accomplished and brilliant woman. Her life story is an inspiration to all those little girls in that audience and I bet there were some wide-eyed young girls there who took exceptional interest in what Mrs.Obama had to say. I hope they use her as an example to accomplish great things in their own lives.

    Great video.

  • What accomplishments? Marrying the president of USA?

  • completing a bachelors degree, and becoming a successful business person, not bad.

I am more educated than her, I should get me an alien warrior princess (I hope one with the body of Jenna Jameson). Cheers

  • LOL You're a simpleton.

When Michelle met Barack, he wasn't President and we wasn't even a senator yet. In fact, Michelle actually served as a mentor to Barack when he was hired at the law firm she worked at.

Michelle graduated from Princeton University and Harvard Law School. She's definitely a very accomplished woman. She's not just some dunce gold-digging woman riding on her husband's coattails.

  • Semantics.

So. Besides being a black chick with a bachelors degree and graduations from P.U. and H.L.S. (which thousands upon thousands of people have), what remarkable accomplishment have she done that deserves this much admiration and attention?

  • She's married to a president, therefore shes special!

Yeah I know it's dumb but who gives a shit...

  • Yeah you are really dumb.

  • She's the first lady of the USA

  • You're playing dumb and I don't entertain stupidity.

  • So I take your answer is; "no accomplishments what so ever."

  • No, I think you have an problem reading. Let me try again:

You're playing dumb and I don't entertain stupidity

  • I think that if we want to get our kids smarter we have to start from in the womb. i know that sounds crazy, but hear me out, i know this kid an he is without a doubt the best musician i have ever met, and hear this, his parents played music through the womb and then he started playing music when he was two, if we did that to all of our kids in different ways, we could make a smarter nation.

  • I totally agree with you, Boris Brott, conductor mentioned to his mother he knew all the cello pieces, "that's because I was practicing them while I was pregnant with you". We absorb all from the moment of conception, including having the 100th monkey phenomena at work, what ever society has materialized, is like wise already in us, it just takes time to be activated, and our physical developemnd

  • The shameful behavior of thumbs downing the comments that provide my point of view does not take away from my stance. I have a hard drive. I can re-post. People will read what you have censored.

provide a response worthy of factual evidence. It is important to engage in rational discussion. Maybe you need to listen to the video again. That is how we educate ourselves and one another.

  • At least she doesn't lie out of her teeth...she just really is THAT corny

  • No politics on TED please. :(

  • Why the fuck not?

  • I dont really like it either its one of those things which you can discuss until you turn blue in the face and never get anywhere....

  • Comment removed

  • Eh you have values???? That's cool

  • Comment removed

  • I'm not even gonna watch this shit. Fuck you Obama

  • See....that's her point....

  • How very objective of you

  • is she crying?

  • This is the 2nd TEDtalksDirector vid in a row that disappoints me. Not necessarily for content, but seems out of place for T.E.D. in my opinion. At least not the type of exciting different and informative T.E.D. guests I like to see.

  • you are not alone! i watch ted every weekday and am normally left with a feeling that i have learnt something but not today!

  • i dont like politics getting their hands on TED!!!!!! yuck

  • people label themselves too much

why should you be ashemed because of choices one president made

he doesnt represent you and you shouldnt be ashamed

place of birth and skin color doesnt matter much

its you ideas and who you are is what you should be judged for

as long as people dont understand that there will always be unfair discrimination

by race by origin by sex you name it

    :/

  • FU politics getting their greasy hands on TED talks

  • Liberals are presently running our education system.

If liberals were truly interested in improving the quality of our education system, WHY THE HELL HAS IT SUCKED SO BAD FOR DECADES !!!!!!!!

  • Obama SHUT DOWN the Wash DC scholarship program that gave disadvantaged kids the chance to get a quality education.

Obama destroyed this great program as pay back to the teacher's unions that funneled $millions to his campaign.

    Obama is a total fraud.

Wake up, open your eyes people !!

  • teachers unions are horrible

    unions should be illegal

if there are horrible working conditions then dont work there noone is making you

  • She's good, but she's not nearly as charismatic as Barack.

  • charisma is only a tiny part of what a president should be

hitler was very charismatic however his ideas were horrible

i think its the same thing with obama

people love him but his policies arent helping

    but hindering

  • I agree that a president needs more than just charisma. However, unlike you I think that Obama's policies are a great help to our nation.

  • many people think that, yet it doesnt mean they are right.

Becoming more socialistic never worked for the country that wants good economics in history

    why should it work now?

    Economics is a deceitful thing

what works isnt always what people think works

  • "Becoming more socialistic never worked for the country that wants good economics in history"

Incorrect. It worked for us in the 1930's. Thanks to FDR's new deal (and the massive deficit spending project known as World War 2) we've had decades of growth and prosperity. It was the dismantling of the regulatory apparatus built by FDR that got us into this mess in the first place.

  • if you studied history you would know that he gathered both Republicans and Democrats together and used a lot of ideas at once some of them horrible (burning food) some good

The reason why there was GD is because of banks

Also FDR helped in spirit more then with anything else he said "the only thing we have to fear is fear itself" and its true fear ruins economy! He tried many things and some worked and ppl trusted him so they started spending helping econ a lot.

  • Your original point was that moving in the socialist direction (not full-on socialism) never helped a country, yet FDR undeniably did that and it undeniably helped our country. Whether or not he had bipartisan support in doing so is irrelevant.

In addition, many conservatives (at the time, the word was not synonymous with Republican) accused FDR of socialism, just as many conservatives do today with Obama, despite the fact that FDR was much closer to socialism than Obama is.

  • {continued}

Moreover, Obama's message of hope is strongly reminiscent of FDR's message of "nothing to fear but fear itself", and will likely have a similar positive effect on the economy.

The parallels there, and in the irrational conservative accusations of socialism (not merely "moving in the socialist direction", which is not the same thing), are too strong to ignore. Perhaps you should study history more.

  • message of hope is not socialistic

    its just a message

it will have an impact and thats good but anybody can say the message

and skip the ad hominems i think you should study history more

and i will study history more i dont think there is ever enough

anyways this country started out as very capitalistic and the more socialistic it got (and the more banking system got into gov.) the worse of it is

US also was the land of freedom, its not anymore) ppl give up their freedom because they are scared

  • Sorry about the ad hominem, I was a bit too prickly there. Its true, we should all study history more.

The problem is that you can't have a modern economy without banking. Anybody who wants to start a business has to take out a loan to cover the initial capital investment, and so there needs to be somebody giving out the loans. We just need government regulation to make sure that power doesn't go to the bankers' heads.

  • And we need separation of powers and checks and balances to make sure power doesn't go to the government regulators' heads.

  • Sorry about the ad hominem, I got a bit too prickly there. I think we should all study history more.

The problem is that we can't have a modern economy without banking. If you want to start a new business you have to take out a loan to cover the initial capital investment, and so we need somebody whose business it is to give out loans. We just also need government regulation to make sure that power doesn't go to the bankers' heads.

  • I dont mind banking its the way its done that pisses me off...

banks have too much power to multiply money

I think its necessary to do it a little bit but too much causes unstable economy

Fed should go to hell as well

it wasnt there in the beggining and USA was doing fine

If banks had more regulations at beginning there be no great depression and no reason to make many stupid laws (like burning food, its still going on till this day! Gov is paying money to farmers not to use land)

  • Actually, the Fed may not have been there in the beginning but the First Bank of the United States, which was basically the same thing, was.

I totally agree that banks should have their reserve ratio strictly regulated, so that they can only create a limited quantity of money. When reserve ratios get out of hand its a recipe for collapse.

  • Banks didnt print money! And FED prints money

FED is also partially private its not owned by government like many people think. This allows for legal money manipulation which is horrible

it never happened with first banks

Banks also receive money from government so there is no competition and banks dont bankrupt (its people who should recieve the money and they should switch banks if their bank goes bankrupt) The situation is hopeless money isnt backed by anything nothing prohibits a crush

  • There's nothing wrong with money not being backed by anything. Money never was backed by anything except for a collective agreement we all have to give it value. Even when we had the gold standard our money wasn't really backed by anything, since gold itself was valued at a level far higher than anything that could be reasonably justified by its utility.

  • Money was never backed by anything Really?

do you know how money came to be? it use to be a note that you have that much gold stored! Money use to be backed by gold! IF money is not backed by anything then crushes can occur all the sudden people realize they want food and nobody wants money and a huge inflation occurs. Gold was valued because it takes work to get gold Gold represents work! And people like the way gold looks! Money is way overvalued! You can print it for cents and its worth a 100

  • What I'm saying is that the decision to value gold was entirely arbitrary. The only reason it was used as currency for so many years was because it was hard to fake and everyone knew what it was. Any other heavy metal could have served that purpose equally well. The value it was given far exceeded the work that went into mining and purifying it, and until the age of modern electronics its only "uses" were aesthetic.

  • gold value does fluctuate but it wont fall below certain point because its actually work (unlike money) and im not for using gold as money

im just saying that it could be used to back Money up (even if banks be forced to keep just 1/10 of the value of money in their banks as gold it would help to prevent crushes)

We know that money can totally fail

we dont know of any time in history that gold did

right now money is just paper as soon as people will stop trusting it crush will occur

  • Well, we do have a reserve ratio saying that banks need to keep about 1/10 of the money deposited with them as cash on hand, and that goes a long way to preventing crashes. The problem is that all the fancy credit default swaps and derivatives weren't subject to those rules. We need to expand regulations so that they are.

  • yea but that money has no value

so its like keeping something that has no value anyways (or can loose value)

Gold was there because it cannot completely loose value!

still better then keeping nothing but as soon as money looses value the money in the bank looses value as well

  • We can't run a modern economy without an arbitrary system of "resource points" as a medium of exchange. It used to be that gold filled the role of those arbitrary points (since its value was always much higher than the demand for aesthetic uses justified) now we have dropped the pretense and made the points nakedly arbitrary. What will cause inflation is if there isn't enough physical resources (oil, iron, wheat, cars, t-shirts, etc) to justify all the points.

  • Im not saying change medium of exchange

still use money just back it with something

In economics market decides the value if the whole value is artificially pumped up because people expect other people to take it as payment

then all the sudden people might want it less and less untill they dont want it@all

in fact we know value of money fluctuates a lot government tries to prevent it but that causes stress and can cause a crush

and if theres not enough resources the resource value will raise

  • "if the whole value is artificially pumped up because people expect other people to take it as payment"

That's what I'm saying happened with gold.

"and if theres not enough resources the resource value will raise"

Or the value of money will fall, which is the same thing. The point is that physical resources, not money, ultimately determine the fate of the economy.

  • really Then how is it that when Germany printed lots of money they thought their life be honey

but all the sudden their economy went down

Even though they did have the same amount of physical resources!

And second of all if money fails we are back to barter system and barter system is very inefficient and will make it impossible to buy things and sell them ruining economy! Even if there are physical resources

  • Well, Germans never actually "thought their life was honey" during hyperinflation, but I see your point.

I take a very long view of what "ultimately determines the fate of the economy" means.

Yes, poor fiscal policies can hurt the economy short-term. But good fiscal policies CANNOT lead to growth UNLESS there are underlying factors (like technological development, plentiful coal and oil, population growth, etc) pushing for growth.

  • Also, growth cannot continue forever if there are physical limitations restricting it. The planet has a finite size, it absorbs a finite quantity of sunlight per year, the atmosphere can only absorb a finite quantity of CO2 per year, there is a finite quantity of oil and coal (and iron, copper, etc) in the ground.

These physical limitations do not care about human economics. If we anticipate them we may be able to find ways around them, but if we do not then our growth is doomed.

  • yea i was just saying that they thought their problem will be solved by printing money

And poor fiscal policies can lead to disasters

    like when you have communism

and good fiscal policies can promote growth and prosperity

you can never fully stop development unless you have war

however you can hinder it greatly and cause starvation if you make bad decisions about your countries economics

  • Actually, the communist countries of the 20th century (and the democratic socialist ones as well) all experienced growth. Every country in the world with a halfway stable government grew in the 20th century. This is because civilization is riding a wave of increasing technological development fueled by plentiful oil and coal. If we can find energy alternatives when oil and coal run out we can continue growing for the next few centuries; if not, we will face precipitous population decline.

  • An alternative to petrol!? That would be something. Gasoline holds A LOT of energy. It takes more torque that people realize just to turn a small motor. The alternative will be CUTTING BACK. Not living like pigs will be the alternative.

  • if only hydrogen was cheaper it could be used as an effective alternative

I also thought that its more potent but im not 100% sure on that

  • todays communistic countries are much more capitalistic then USSR was. And yes you can experience growth as a communistic country but it wont be as fast as a capitalistic country and it doesnt mean that there wont be starvation. And even if there is no hungry people you still are killing people that could be saved with the progress you make like invention of new medical equipment etc. People work much more efficiently when they are working for themselves

  • Oh definitely. I never said that the communist countries grew at the same rate as the capitalist ones, just that both grew- and that neither would have grown if we had been past peak oil and had not yet developed alternatives.

  • well i think there could be growth with no oil just once oil would vanish and there be no alternatives at beginning it would take us back to the stone age and then slowly (very slowly) growth would start up again but yes that would be an economic disaster!

And i never tried to say that communistic countries dont experience growth in fact i said "you can never fully stop development unless you have war" at least you cant stop it forever unless u have everlasting war.

  • Well, the good news is that oil won't vanish instantly; supply will decrease gradually, so we'll have time to find alternatives.

But if we were to go back to the stone age, we'd never be able to make it back to where we are now. The industrial revolution was powered by easy coal (and later easy oil) and that is gone now. Almost all of the coal and oil deposits we are using now would be impossible to find or exploit with pre-industrial technology.

  • Never is such a long lasting word. But yes it probably wouldnt happen So if there ever is nuclear war that destroys most our technology our society is doomed,if not forever then at least for really really really long time. We dont know when the world will end we have some predictions but sun will explode some 5 billion years from now thats a long time(if we are right) and stone age was only some 35 thousands years ago :)

Hopefully we will only go forward without backing up like during dark ages

  • Well, it's not that no species would ever be able to build a civilization again, just that we'd never be able to do it. That's because it takes millions of years to lay down new oil and coal deposits, and by then we'll either be extinct or we'll have evolved into a new species. The current civilization is homo sapiens' only chance to successfully create a planet-wide beehive.

  • if comments post 2wice im sorry youtube doesnt post my comments and i dont know if they posted or not

    its so frustrating

  • yeah, same here.

  • It didnt help

country be much better off without it!

the other things he did helped

    not the social things

  • All modern democracies are part socialist and part capitalist.

  • OR...

all Socialists and Capitalists are half way through being Democratically correct ;)

  • Nope, I just find it kind of a double standard with a struggle for equality and then the sample behind her is not representative of all children.

    Thumb me down bitches.

  • lol jk on the thumbs down

  • I was just pointing out what empty rhetoric it is to say you were raised with values. Hitler had values, Stalin had values, Ghandi had values etc. If she pointed out what some of those values are then we can have a conversation. But the thing is, that everyone would not agree so the controversy would be politically compromising. This is why people who live in the public eye are destined to spit meaningless rhetoric. I didnt mean she was at all like hitler.

  • For the first time in my life, I am NOT proud to be an American.

  • Race is nothing more than a concept. there is less genetic variation in all human beings regardless of skin color or bone structure than there are in fruit flies who are percieved to all look the same. Anyone using this idea to judge an other person makes no sense whatsoever. Lets keep it about content. Race is a myth disproven by science.
