As a machinist, I often use chalk on my files to keep filings from clogging up the cuts on the file. All of my files are pillar, flat, or square profiles. I've heard a variety of viewpoints concerning how useful this can be, but it definitely helps with mine. Would "chalking" be beneficial on a tri-square for your application?
