i have prepeared a cityguide about istanbul thats why ive visited there and saw that this is the coolest sexiest and funniest city in the world. think about a historical newyork you will imagine istanbul. and i ve broken my own prejudices but i ve seen that turkish people got the best city in the world and as we are the rest of the world we are jelous of them

A great video that gives Turkey a flair of Venice. Nothing looks Turkish at all. That's why it's nice! It also shows important monuments of foreign nations: Efessos,Saint Sophia. Turks don't say that produced them, but at least they can be proud that captured them and half destroyed them. Most were conquered by a "glorious" Turkish army of 500,000 against a ghost city and its 5,000 defenders in 1453. They belong to the history of other countries, but they are in Turkey. Impressing civilization!

What you show to impress the tourists is Agia Sophia and Ephesus. These are significant monuments! Who cares about hamams and harems? You only like to mention people that do not exist like Hittites, etc. But the GREEKS are the ones that left a real legacy there! The Greek Byzas founded this city not a Sumerian! You trying to erase History for cheap nationalism! But how can you learn if you are not allowed to analyze your own history in the schools? If you say Ataturk was wrong,you go to jail!

That' s right. We' re always proud of our civilization and Byzans is our history. Sultan Mehmed had signed the papers as Emperor of Rome and he was the Emperor. I you read about the Rome history you may find many Emperors from different nations.

When most people that I know thinks about Istanbul they think about Grand Bazaar, Blue Mosque, Galata Tower, Bosphorus bridges, Topkapi and Dolmabahce musea, Sultan's Kayiks, its legendary ships, bosphorus, halic, the islands, imperial sunsets, Suleymaniye, Sultanahmet, Ortakoy, Rumeli and Anadolu hisar's, its skyline, nightlife, cousine, its spirit, its 100 names, its energy, dynamics, potential and most important its beautiful, gentle and wise inhabitants.

@iliasgv actually I first wanted to see Sultan Ahmet mosque and Sulimaniye along with Topkapi palace.Ayasofya is nice and still is because the Ottomans did not destroy it when they entered Istanbul and instead preserved it and added onto it. Because isn't that what Islam is?A continuation of Judaism and Christianity?Besides Emperor Nicholas built it not any Greek.And your beautiful acropolys would still be intact too if it weren't for the Christian Venicians blowing it to hell.BTW nice economy.
