haha mad props man! i only have 20 ours of time and ive always loved watching aerobatics since i was a child. its really cool to see you come up with something this unique and fun. kudos! youre an inspiration for the next generation of aviators
I'm so sad about your loss, man... Cheer up and don't lose your passion for aviation, I'm sure she wouldnt want you to stop. Accept my sincere sympathy, from a fan and also an airman - weekend one - who fly Cubs here in Brazil (but without even a fraction of your skill, of course).
Kyle, I have seen you fly several times and being around flying all of my life I think I can easily say you are one of the best. Energy management and knowing your airplane so well that it feels as an extension of your own body allows us to do the things with aircraft that some may call pushing it too far. If only they knew the aircraft and feeling they would understand. Keep up the great work bro!!!
cool !! hotty did good job !! :) i like last part where jsut before stopping engine, he sneaks under aircraft belly and span the a/c arround... niceeee

Oh my god there were at least 7 times where i thought.. How much longer can he do this before he dies??!! That act is not funny! You need to fly like you know what you are doing, even if your act is a drunk pilot. You can fly like your drunk but don't fly like that! He pulled on the stick so hard i thought he was going to snap the wings off!
corsairdude, sorry you didn't find the act funny. But, don't make statements about things you know nothing about. I have been flying this plane since I was 8 years old. I have NEVER bent, broke or over G'd the plane. I know what she can and cannot do. That's why I can fly the way I do, and keep in mind it is an act and is somethings are made to look worse then they really are. That being said, I don't advise anyone to try to fly the way I do.
@Vacul001 if u know anything about planes u would realize he knows exactly what he is doing, a random drunk person in the audience could never do tht. only a trained pro could
It actually is quite impressive as well as hilarious. It isn't very easy to to these sorts of maneuvers at such a slow speed. His stall and pull out makes me cringe and then burst out in laughter. Very impressive.
@Vacul001 So right---my late dad (tool & die guy at NAA/Rockwell) fabricated parts for Bob Hoover's airshow P-51 by hand, including umpteen new wing-tips. That 'Tennessee Waltz' maneuver of his racked up any number of tip-scrapes, necessitating inspections and repairs. I don't envy you handling that kind of thing on the road and with a show schedule to keep.
There are metal skidplates duct-taped to the bottoms of the wingtips. And you have to be careful not to hit the wing to hard on the ground or you'll bend a spar.
Blue skies and tail-winds to you Kyle Franklin! I greatly value your skill and precision in the way you fly! I'm glad to see you in the air again!

Why does he touch the plane's wings on the ground? Doesn't that cause damage to the plane?
davffdave 2 years ago
It's all part of the show. You can do alot of damage to the plane and can hurt yourself if you don't know what you're doing.
Please don't try this at home....

He has special reinforced wing tips. Usually, the FAA would look down upon landing on the wings instead of the wheels.
