That's pretty awesome that you're belly dancing to Rob Zombie, I'm the only one I know that belly dances to Rob Zombie's music, lol. He's my favorite though. The music strikes so much emotion, so it's perfect for my dancing. You are wonderful, by the way. :)

I'm sure it looks a little weird if you stumble upon it, but this video is for my students to practice with. So it's easier to practice with me facing away like they would actually see me in a performance. There is a video of this from the front in our performance videos. It's much more entertaining!

thank you for sharing this...your body which moves gracefully reminds me of professional turkish belly dancers and I wonder whether the turkish style is more suited to slim/athletic bodies not the mother goddess types classically associated with belly dance. Like Ercin Didem Arsena etc. Slim dancers are faster and more expressive and evocative in their movements. The movements seem more explosive.This of course is just a personal observation and preference

You're very welcome! There are definitely personal preferences when watching belly dancers. That seems to be why there are so many evolving styles of belly dance. Some troupes are greatly criticized for using only smaller dancers, but the fact is that there is a market for that, so I don't have any problem with it. However, our troupe is more of an "average American" type troupe. We're all ages, shapes and sizes. I appreciate your comments!

so i had my first lesson and i did fall in love with i, i think i did before i had the lesson. i already had a few hip scarves because i love the style. (and i like to jingle lol)

Some teachers don't want students to wear anything that makes noise during class, but I think it really helps people to know whether they're snapping the move or just doing the movement.

According to the view monitor on my video camera, I barely fit in the shot. This is really for my students to practice with, and they're not really picky about the quality of the video as long as they can see what I'm doing.

You have incredible flexibility and I love your myas! Your dancing is coming along wonderfully for being a teenage student. Facing different directions is always good for a change, but doing it too much can alienate an audience, so just try to find a good balance. Happy dancing!
