Just to stir things up a bit. As humans within the developed world we waste an enormous volume of the Earths resources. Collectively, we don't do any where near enough energy conservation or recycling etc. As Christians, should we be taking this subject more seriously? Discuss.
@Genius83 I think we should do a little more "green" stuff, however I feel like since Jesus is more than likely returning in the not-far future (I believe <= 5 years ish), then it's probably not a super important thing to make sure we have water left (also, is it not true than salt water can be easily made drinkable??? but that's another rant) and to protect the earth as much. But then again, there are some verses that say not to pollute the Earth.. plus Heaven will be here on Earth... toughie

@Genius83 the < 5 years is just my personal belief from the things I'm seeing happening these days. God is shaking the Earth in measures probably greater than He has since the flood. Also there are some theories about the alignment of constellations which are signs of what is coming (I recommend watching Star of Bethlehem documentary about this topic). I'm not saying it's for sure < 5, or necessarily biblical, but that's the feeling I have.

I previously use to believe that the world was a better place today than it ever has been. I know you will highly disagree. I admit, I'm not so sure I believe that anymore, but I don't believe its worse either.
@Genius83 I also am against predicting the end of the Earth; and especially since it is said that even Jesus Himself does not know the day or hour of His return. However, there are verses (immediately after the aforementioned verse.. Matthew 24:42-44) saying that we need to keep watch and recognize the signs so we are prepared.
But I agree that we shouldn't state that it's going to be any exact day or even year because that is not known and need not be guessed.
@BlindedByTheSun666 One last thing: just because you disagree with predicting dates and such, I don't know if it's such a good idea to ignore documentaries (or any form of media) because it suggests something you disagree with. You should be open minded and hear different viewpoints. But anyway, I also do not mean to attack you, just sharing my thoughts. Blessings

Putting aside whether its right or wrong (i.e. sinful or not), why on earth would anyone choose to be Gay. "Hmmm bored today, think I'll be Gay from now on". Far as I'm concerned, anyone who thinks a person who is Gay has chosen that or is 'ill' is also being a judgemental sinner. Let leave that to God me thinks....but you won't.

@Sugarrush57 hey yeah it is isn't it! Songs like this also changed my views on Christian music too way back. I know worship is only part of it, but it does make such a difference when you have songs/music like this that you actually really enjoy and would happily listen to out of church.

@11Parch I'm not trying to be rude but in John 3:16 it says For God so loved the world he gave his only begotten son that whosoever BELIEVETH and is BAPTIZED shall have ever lasting life. I go to a Church of Christ and we believe you eventually have to be baptized to go to Heaven.
People make up too many rules on how to follow god, for example, being gay, there are studies, and gay men have the brain patterns of a strait female and gay females have the same brain patterns as strait males. If they're here and they're gay, why shouldn't god love them too? I think that's society, god loves us because of our flaws and the things we hate about our selves, he made us the way we are, and is helping us become what he wants for us, he loves us all, no matter what.
@Awsomesaucalicious couldn't have put it better myself! The relationship between yourself and God is a personal one - not one to 'set' by the masses. I've commented in here before (and sadly got into a pointless arguement) about how Christians make a mountain out of a mole hill in regard to the gay "issue". This is one (of many) reasons also what I was talking about earlier when some people are chased from God. Its important never to give up on God though during such times.

@Awsomesaucalicious yes you are right God loves us for us. But God doesn't like the sin. I'm sorry to say, and don't want to be considered a bible thumper, BUT in the book of 1st corinthians there is a list of sin that Jesus doesn't want you to be participating in.. And one of them is homosexuality. I'm not saying you can't follow, and chase after God, but to be of good use you have to be set apart of the world. Living a life of asking, seeking, and receiving.

...And now that we know that we know what is right and wrong, we try to remind ourselves that one of Christ's finest hour was when God said "This is my beloved Son!", and also for ours (for our justification) when He DIED on the cross. All these are recorded that we might eventually come to know how far God was willing to rescue us from what we didn't. What justification would the first believers have had they said it's right to live like they lived before they knew God?
God does love every single one of us, so He came to save us. Save from what? Well, it's true that He was not pleased because of our flaws and shortcoming. Only through Jesus Christ our Lord are we in perfect harmony with God now. Please know that Christ's teachings are not without instructions. Remember He instructed some "go and SIN no more", & some He encouraged "your SINS are forgiven". Christ came to our rescue that we might stop doing the very thing that made Him pay in the first place.

Gay-ism and Lesbian-ism are all an abomination to God. The FIRST catch line in the bible that Jesus goes round preaching is "Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at Hand." @MrLovellTan I quite agree with regard to Deuteronomy+I like to think we have developed past such barbarism. So basically we are looking at the New Testament, which brings us to 1 Corinthians 6:9-10. This verse is written differently in every single bible I have ever picked up. Some say 'homosexuality' and some don't even mention it or a word that refers it. What is more, it all relates to the translation of the original bible, for which the word which meant 'gay-ism' is actually quite foggy.

The Lord is amazing!! I just got back from the hospital with a fractured skull from a recent car wreck and in a few days, the scar was GONE. I thought I would be scarred and in pain for life but it went away as soon as I was placed into the hospital. That just proves to show that God's love is stronger than anything on this earth. PRAISE THE LORD AND NEVER LOSE HOPE FOR HE IS THERE ALWAYS!

@bubblehoops Unfortunately yes it does mean that. The Bible says "For ALL have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.", and "...whosoever BELIEVES in Him will be saved.". So unfortunately, from a Biblical perspective those people who do not know of God ARE going to Hell unless something changes. This is why evangelism is so VERY important.

it's amazing how many people run away from God, they get shown the evidence about the Bible and still choose to ignore. It's a real shame for them, they are missing out so much. We worship an amazing god, who is a healer, deliver, restorer, hopegiver and a freedom bringer. This song and others sum up God and how powerful he is.

Sadly that is true. However no one should be able to shake your faith to stop following the Lord, it goes to show you how we fear other people's reaction and opinions of us, when really we should only care what the Lord thinks. When people are big in our lives, God is small. Its the human heart. I think everyone is guilty of that, one time or another, part of this journey is learning to trust and depend on God, not on our own understanding.

I can only share my experience on this..I was given a bible at a very young age in a neighborhood VBS and then my Grandmother gave me a bible in 1985 when I graduated from highschool. I was in a deep depression for many many yrs so when i opened the bible I was so oppressed I felt nothing..fast forward to March 2010, the Holy spirit revealed himself to me more then once. I am now saved..
very nice, i became a Christian in 2003, through my Mum, I saw her worriers just disappear, then when I went to Church, i knew i had to give my life up to Jesus.

@heavenlylady1 No one who didn't know her can tell you whether or not she is in heaven, but if she was truly born again as you say, then I believe she is in heaven. Suicide would be a cause, despite her not being in her right mind, for those of us who didn't know her to doubt whether she was born again, but we still cannot know. In any case look to Jesus for comfort. I should be able to quote a related Bible verse here, but sadly I can't remember any of them.

I guess you can say that we have no proof there is a god. You can make up stupid stories to make fun of us. But what to we do? Do we come back mocking you for being non believers. No. You can say what you want. What is logical, scientifically accurate, and possible. We know God is there for us and he believes in you too. We know there is a God because of the joy he brings us.

PRoblem is, whenever I discuss this from a Christian perspective, it generally gets dismissed, similarly to how you did with your comment "it's not a super important thing".
Just to make you aware, I'm not attacking you here, just interested in the concept.

@baller24ize I love the way people pounce on this issue. Anyone who thinks being gay is a choice must have a brain the size of a walnut. Putting aside whether its right or wrong (i.e. sinful or not), why on earth would anyone choose to be Gay. "Hmmm bored today, think I'll be Gay from now on". Far as I'm concerned, anyone who thinks a person who is Gay has chosen that or is 'ill' is also being a judgemental sinner. Let leave that to God me thinks....but you won't.

People make up too many rules on how to follow god, for example, being gay, there are studies, and gay men have the brain patterns of a strait female and gay females have the same brain patterns as strait males. If they're here and they're gay, why shouldn't god love them too? I think that's society, god loves us because of our flaws and the things we hate about our selves, he made us the way we are, and is helping us become what he wants for us, he loves us all, no matter what.

@Awsomesaucalicious couldn't have put it better myself! The relationship between yourself and God is a personal one - not one to 'set' by the masses. I've commented in here before (and sadly got into a pointless arguement) about how Christians make a mountain out of a mole hill in regard to the gay "issue". This is one (of many) reasons also what I was talking about earlier when some people are chased from God. Its important never to give up on God though during such times.

@Awsomesaucalicious yes you are right God loves us for us. But God doesn't like the sin. I'm sorry to say, and don't want to be considered a bible thumper, BUT in the book of 1st corinthians there is a list of sin that Jesus doesn't want you to be participating in.. And one of them is homosexuality. I'm not saying you can't follow, and chase after God, but to be of good use you have to be set apart of the world. Living a life of asking, seeking, and receiving.

@Genius83 - Jesus came as the ultimate fulfillment of the law. Now we are no longer bound by the law but are free. If the Son has set you free, you are free indeed!
That's not to say we shouldn't try to keep from sinning - but now we are covered by God's grace and there is NO CONDEMNATION for those who are in Christ Jesus.

...And now that we know that we know what is right and wrong, we try to remind ourselves that one of Christ's finest hour was when God said "This is my beloved Son!", and also for ours (for our justification) when He DIED on the cross. All these are recorded that we might eventually come to know how far God was willing to rescue us from what we didn't. What justification would the first believers have had they said it's right to live like they lived before they knew God?

God does love every single one of us, so He came to save us. Save from what? Well, it's true that He was not pleased because of our flaws and shortcoming. Only through Jesus Christ our Lord are we in perfect harmony with God now. Please know that Christ's teachings are not without instructions. Remember He instructed some "go and SIN no more", & some He encouraged "your SINS are forgiven". Christ came to our rescue that we might stop doing the very thing that made Him pay in the first place.

Gay-ism and Lesbian-ism are all an abomination to God. The FIRST catch line in the bible that Jesus goes round preaching is "Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at Hand." @MrLovellTan I quite agree with regard to Deuteronomy+I like to think we have developed past such barbarism. So basically we are looking at the New Testament, which brings us to 1 Corinthians 6:9-10. This verse is written differently in every single bible I have ever picked up. Some say 'homosexuality' and some don't even mention it or a word that refers it. What is more, it all relates to the translation of the original bible, for which the word which meant 'gay-ism' is actually quite foggy.

The Lord is amazing!! I just got back from the hospital with a fractured skull from a recent car wreck and in a few days, the scar was GONE. I thought I would be scarred and in pain for life but it went away as soon as I was placed into the hospital. That just proves to show that God's love is stronger than anything on this earth. @bubblehoops Unfortunately yes it does mean that. The Bible says "For ALL have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.", and "...whosoever BELIEVES in Him will be saved.". So unfortunately, from a Biblical perspective those people who do not know of God ARE going to Hell unless something changes. This is why evangelism is so VERY important.

it's amazing how many people run away from God, they get shown the evidence about the Bible and still choose to ignore. It's a real shame for them, they are missing out so much. We worship an amazing god, who is a healer, deliver, restorer, hopegiver and a freedom bringer. This song and others sum up God and how powerful he is.

Sadly that is true. However no one should be able to shake your faith to stop following the Lord, it goes to show you how we fear other people's reaction and opinions of us, when really we should only care what the Lord thinks. When people are big in our lives, God is small. Its the human heart. I think everyone is guilty of that, one time or another, part of this journey is learning to trust and depend on God, not on our own understanding.

I can only share my experience on this..I was given a bible at a very young age in a neighborhood VBS and then my Grandmother gave me a bible in 1985 when I graduated from highschool. I was in a deep depression for many many yrs so when i opened the bible I was so oppressed I felt nothing..fast forward to March 2010, the Holy spirit revealed himself to me more then once. I am now saved..

@heavenlylady1 No one who didn't know her can tell you whether or not she is in heaven, but if she was truly born again as you say, then I believe she is in heaven. Suicide would be a cause, despite her not being in her right mind, for those of us who didn't know her to doubt whether she was born again, but we still cannot know. In any case look to Jesus for comfort. I should be able to quote a related Bible verse here, but sadly I can't remember any of them.

Love this song!! Love God more!! I got saved 5 years ago so when I was 9 yrs. old I got saved then baptised and this was the very first song I heard when I got saved so this song brings back good memories.. I love God.. It would be amazing to see the whole earth praise God and be happy and live in peace.. That would be totally awesome!! :)

I guess you can say that we have no proof there is a god. You can make up stupid stories to make fun of us. But what to we do? Do we come back mocking you for being non believers. No. You can say what you want. What is logical, scientifically accurate, and possible. We know God is there for us and he believes in you too. We know there is a God because of the joy he brings us.

No sign of a god, before, during or after, natural disastres B) The absolute absence of favoritism towards believers. Even churches need lightning-rods to protect them from god. C) The absence of any reaction, when crimes are committed in his name. C) The suffering of the innocent. One could accept that the guilty must suffer, but children ???
