Thank you so much for posting this. Michael and Amy were my first experiences in listening to Christian music. I love the fact that their songs deliver a message without ramming it down your throat. Their songs are uplifiting and inspirational. I am a Catholic and was raised to have respect and do right by others. This is great music that I still listen to right up to this very day. Whether you are Pentecostal, Baptist, Catholic, Jewish....it doesn't matter. The music WILL touch your soul.
Actually this was a joint concert with Kathy Trocolli and MWS, so you will see her back by Warren Ham (sax player) and Chris Rice (guitarist). Also, the guy by Amy Grant is Wayne Watson (I think). Basically this was a bunch of friends who all were represented or were friends with Blanton and Harrell (the managers and producers of MWS). This was kind of an All-Star gathering of CCM musicians in 1985, and while dated, shows talent and commitment to God!
@BUTLERNIXON The guy wearing the long white coat is Wayne Kirkpatrick. He wrote the lyrics to most of Michael W. Smith's songs. If you know one of Michaels songs, the lyrics were probably written by Wayne (Place In This World, Secret Ambition, etc.). The guitar player in black and white (with the vest) is Chris Rodriguez. He played with Michael for a LONG time and also recorded his own albums. He's now a session musician and has worked with Amy Grant, Kenny Rogers, Wynona Judd, etc.
