  • like the part where your flying and shooting thins in the air

  • thanks

  • amiga 500 4evr :)

  • Like most Cinemaware stuff - great graphics, great presentation, great strategy elements that are all sort of ruined by repetitive and overly difficult arcade sections.

  • I loved this game. First time to ever see the end of the game. XD

  • 35:32 Yummy. ;P

  • I'm kinda disappointed that you didn't organize the resistance in any country. It's quite fun to play "RISK" and seeing the resistance providing you steady quantities of Lunarium while the Nazis struggle to get their bases back.

  • This was my all time favorite game for the Amiga, and perhaps still has one of the best endings to any game I ever played.

  • bettr than pc ~ esp in 89' :(

  • very Terry Gilliam Pythonesque at 00:04 haha could imagine a giant foot landing on Hitler

  • One of my favorite, but difficult Amiga Games.

  • 7 Nazis disliked this video.

  • I love how the game plays out. Its cool. Your time in completeing the mission depends largely on you getting into space before the Nazis conquer America. In the meantime, as you do, you see nation after nation fall to the third Reich.

Though I must say, the ending is silly. I DOUBT the Nazis would just give up having lost their moon base.

  • This game looks fun and the graphics look amazing! And I really appreciate the fast forward on the one-on-one fights with the Nazi guards ;)

  • Not big on having your agents building resistance, eh? You play recklessly! =o)

    I LOVE THAT GAME!

  • boy did i suck at this game

  • They even made a comic series in 1991-92 based on this game. Too bad they didn't bother to produce the final volume, though.

  • Is it just me, or does Cinemaware make alot of good games?

  • Anybody still got the decoder wheel that came with this game? Mine fell apart after like two spins. XD

  • @Suckfest83

I had a pirated copy, so I didn't have the wheel, but I had a print out. Maybe I should post the info on a wiki or something...

  • @7WhitePhoenix7 You still have the print out of a pirated 20 year old copy O.o ? maybe only my mom was mean.

  • I got this game with box and everthing but.... i never got of the ground just jumped a bit and crashed ;)

  • I remember seeing a screenshot in C+VG similar to the shot of you kissing the girl and the end, same background but just the girl looking at the viewer looking very sexy - guess they changed it. Shame cause it was a beautiful piece of artwork.

  • Excellent vid I could never beat the 4th nazi guard let alone find all 5 rocket parts in time... I was tempted at one time to use an emulator to find out what the end was like, (freeze the state of the game to find the rocket parts and reload if I was unsuccessful with my agents) but i never got round to it.... But hey now you've done it and kudos for speeding up those fight scenes and beating nazi no. 5 LOL

    Nice vid great effort.....

  • @Tigermania for some reson they made the 4th nazi guard the hardest to beat.

  • Das Spiel scheint ja mehr als Lahm zu sein

  • Man cool Cinemaware. Really loved wings, but gotta have to have this game for my amiga... :o)

  • wings was awesome

  • A nice Game for the Amiga!!

Cinemaware make good Games like Wings and Rocket Ranger!

  • the best bit is hitler rocking out at the start

  • LOOOL they'd never do that in todays games, this game was so much fun and so advanced when you look at what was out at the time.

  • geez the alien in this version is even scarier than the NES version

    *whimper*

  • I enjoy the fast motion fistfights.

  • I loved that game.

  • amiga version does have bettr audio...

  • which was bettr in the day... st or amiga?

  • ... commando .. (blushes)

  • amiga

  • was The Rocketeer inspired by this or what :)

  • Not really, The Rocketeer comic is older... and both were inspired by similar old serials.

  • capt. cody --- to this --- even inspired lucas...

  • Oh, yes the copyprotection, the lunarium wheel

  • Amazing, brings back nice memories!

The jungle music was very exciting, knowing that I struck lunarium!

    Thanks for sharing cubex55.

  • Why does the guard always land on the remote for the door??

  • Fists of accuracy! :)

  • 1:56 this bit of the game used to completly terrify me for some reason when i was about 4 or 5.

  • That was great ah the memories.

  • Brilliant, that brought back a lotof good memories playing that game.

That was the best game graphics going at that time.

    Great Post

  • Has anyone got 'It came from the desert'?

  • Yes both have been recorded - check our videos :)

  • thanks.. never saw the end.. :)

  • so what is an Amiga? it looks like Super NES graphics...

  • Its a homer computer from the 90s - wikipedia it ;)

  • @cubex55 Its a home computer that came out in 1984 and wasn't sold until Sept 1985.

  • @cubex55 Amiga 1000 was released in 1985, the 500 in 87. The 1200 was released in 92, now that's one of the 90s Amigas. It started in the good old 80s.

  • @stephensamperi a home computer made in 1985, yes 1985, i know and the real kicker is it douse decent 3d!

  • Denmark is not a part of Germany. Thanks for srew that up game developers!!!

  • Look closer, and you'll see it got conquered. Thank your sense of history to srew THAT up!!

  • haha "get this:"

  • cinemaware games mostly rocked...

  • It's a good game.

    well done for finishing it.

A shame it didn't show the fighter versus rocket ranger scene if you fly to Germany! That really is a challenge :)

  • Bravo

I like this game, but not version French

    impossible to gaming...

You are very easy for this game, I dont undertstand for gaming this game..

Thank fort the post and sorry for my very bad english .....

  • the fights used to crack me up...."what are they doing? always fighting in the same room and damn it takes a while!" still cracks me up

  • Same room and the guy makes the same sound when you punch him in the stomach. :D

  • And at the end the nazis win ? :D

Still a entertaining game. The final is psychedelic...

  • no, the end was one of the versions of "Game Over" you could get. It was in the "out-takes" part. The real ending, the good one, you find out that there are aliens behind the Nazis.

  • Omg memories

  • What's the name of the song at the very very end of this video lol

and yes the NES version of this game was very frustrating, I was like a 2 year old boy trying to this game out and I would throw tantrums each time..

  • Love the game.

  • Rocketeer!!

  • LOL at how the guy falls down in the outtakes, both when taking off and when losing the fistfight.

  • cazzo era impossibile decollare, ci provavo sempre, tanto mi piaceva...il Pg.

  • I didn't know there was oxygen on the moon.

  • Ah memories... I loved completing this time and time again. I still have it on my Xbox Amiga Emulator but no wheel sniff! Always remember it was 23 to the Atlantic to save the Professor and daughter lol Hated fighting the last German for the last rocket part.

  • You know what? I DO TOO! Why in the emulator version that I have, it's 31? 10 was Canada and I thought 24 to Peru or something like that?

  • Damn, this is a truelly classic stuff, one of my all time favorites!

In general Cinemaware made some great stuff!

peace 2 all the oldskool gamers!

  • I love this game! Cinemaware rules! The recording should have included the special 3 minute ending song when you win the game, however this recording cuts it out. :-(

  • Is there a sequel to this game?

  • Nah

  • remember how you were totally screwed if u lost the decoder wheel."LOL"..u old school gamers know what im talking about..hahaha

  • loll Mine actually fell apart.

  • I started WITHOUT the decoder wheel. Finding out the codes for each country by trial and error was part of the fun. When I completed the "wheel", I found out i was doing better in the game when my choices were limited.

  • this game was awesome...so many memories

  • Wasn't the intro a bit longer? My friend had this and I had helped him make a school video presentation and we recorded a scene where there were German bombers flying over head and marching troops. Maybe that was if you lost part fo the game?

  • There is an "evil" outro that shows, among other things, the nazi banners on the white house in Washington (should you lose the game).

  • You can download this (PC, Amiga, and others)and others from the cinemaware web site, or play online for free

  • Thanks for posting this. I've only played the NES game, which doesn't hold a melted candle to the Amiga version.

  • cinemaware used to rock too !

  • Hope you don't mind me saying so, but in terms of spy work you bungled up. My optimum was distributing the spies over all continents (low risk profile, of course), fly to a mission and back again to check on their progress. My continent distribution was: Europe, Eurasia and the Middle East, North Africa, South Africa and the American continents (in the latter three cases, to locate lunarium fuel depots and t have a preparatory forefront for building resistance movements).

  • Nazis? 1940? I thought the game was set in 1990, and a bunch of aliens invade the planet.

  • This was a censored remake, in which the culprits were changed into aliens. You never wondered where the Nazi uniforms and the zeppelins came from? THIS one here is the original version.

  • Isn't that what happened on "Enterprise" in the two part episode "Storm Front?" ;-)

  • I don't know; never got to see the episode. But I do know that in several movies depicting the Germans in a bad light following WW2, the German synchronization producers decided to cut back on the "bad images". Look at 'Die Hard' in German (German title: 'Stirb Langsam'): Hans Gruber and his gang were simply converted into Irish terrorists. You won't believe my surprise when I first watched the movie in English and heard one of the terrorists speaking clearly in German!

  • I played the NES version of this many years ago. This was yet another Cinemaware game for the Amiga that was utterly wrecked by being ported to the NES. This version is way better. =)

  • What's so bad about the NES version of Rocket Ranger?

  • Lots of stuff. It was heavily censored, the graphics took a hit, and a lot of the gameplay took a hit as well. This version looks halfway decent, but the NES version will drive you up the wall.

  • oh my god i loved this game... the number of school holidays that were eaten up playing this, f16 combat pilot, m1 tank platoon, populous and monkey island...[sigh]

  • this game used to scare me when i was younger

  • Nazi bastards

  • myt favorite game from childhood. it kicks everyones butt...several times. can somebody please let me know how to download this game...i wanna play it

  • Amazon women, are you serious? Damn, the 30's/40's were f**ked up, man.

  • So cool! Cured me from playing it again after all these years. I never got past the Amazon women, I didn't know I was so close to the end!

  • I remember i got to last guard, but when i beat him, the nazis got to the us..

  • That was cool as mate!! I feel sorry for the people that never got to play this game as I think it was one of the best. I agree with timewaster72 it would have been pretty cool if you let the zepplin get to Germany the second time round where the guy gets strapped in the chair and zapped... but then time was always a critical factor in the game...

  • I remember it too.

It was a very difficult game and it came with an coordinates wheel

  • Absolutly Amazing...

  • Jesus, I loved this game when I was around 16. Like others on here, I too was amazed by how far ahead of its time it was. They don't make 'em like that any more. (Nostalgia ain't what it used to be!)

  • Was fun playing Rocket ranger but is a hard game to complete. I couldn't believe how advanced the music and sfx were on this game at the time. Nice to see this game again thanks! mind you missed the parts where you shoot down me109 fighters and when you had to rescue the women captured by the nazis nm.

  • OMG OMG OMG OMG MY FAVORITE GAME (*I'm jewish*). I remember that used to scare me to death. That part sucked, I have the game, NEVER EVER beat it. Too damn hard. MY GOD IT IS HERE! I Didn't realize someone shared with me my Cinamaware magic! I Love this video and game, and possible you.!

  • So Rocket Ranger defeats the Nazis by shooting and killing a group of Amazon women? How odd! I didn't think it'd be that easy!

  • The apple IIGS version had way better sound..

but obviously, Amiga had better animation..

  • I completely agree with you! Even with an accelerator, it doesn't make up for the IIgs version lacking certain animation FX that exists in the Amiga version. This game's music is so damn good that I recorded all of the music to audio tape. Keep in mind that there were no portable digital audio devices at that time!

  • Brilliant video! Really! Thank you for fast forwarding repetitions :)

  • Cinemaware was behing great games such as this and Defender of the crown.Too bad it went under.Nice story with an alternate future where nazis won the war and you have to correct it.In this 1940 men have already landed on the moon, not so hard to believe since Werner von Braun was behind the german rocket program, and later helped putting the US on the moon.

  • Yea I loved this game when I was in my 20's

  • I remember playing the sanitized version of this for the NES.

  • You mean the gay version?
