  • I fell in love. I want this track to carry my babies.

  • I THINK OF THIS SONG AS A GOTH ORGY

  • I THINK YOU'RE ALL NUTS

  • I think of an army of hellish, demonic, abominations of nature marching, pillaging, and burning everything in sight with one intent, to destroy mankind.

  • I think of the Third Reich

  • I think of our early American forefathers and how they probably torched thousands of Native American settlements.

  • LOL It seems like everyone interprets this as either Ancient Roman Gladiators or Nazi Rallies, I dont blame them because that's the first thing that came to mind when I heard this

  • This is probally the creepiest song I've ever heard, I love it but it freaks me out.

  • i'm pretty sure if Hitler was alive during this period, he'd probably use this song in his marches or speeches to get the crowd going.

  • @somethingguy912 Agreed.....great soundtrack for crushing unsuspecting countries beneath your jackboots....

  • @quidseeker also, when i first heard the yelling more clearly, it almost seemed as if Trent had taken a sample from the old video cameras in the rallies themselves!

  • This the sound of the army marching into town to crush all the occupy movements.

  • Song for North Korea.

  • reminds me of zombies:)

  • To me this song represents a psychedelic experience. A pilgrimage from channel normal to ascension. In the context of the rest of the album, I don't know a better description.

  • Remides me of Nazis marching. Especially the end.

  • fucking brilliant

  • This song makes think of M. Bison.

  • This is the theme music to walking over everyone who's ever doubted, hurt, or been your enemy in life.

  • esta cancion es como para hacer un video cn las marchas en CHILE!!

  • This used to be my ringtone until my phone broke. It was a kickass ringtone.

  • Fourth Reich (USA) theme song

  • this is like the rally song for the march through Hell

  • Reminds me of some boos music from Super Metroid (SNES GENERATION FTW!!!)

  • Its a fuckin Football game

  • i also could think of this as a twisted carnival or circus

  • Indus Metal is so FUCKING gooooooooooodddddd !!!! love NIN x)

  • i think of desert, when i hear this >.>

  • This really does sound more like imperial music. Then again, the Nazis were heavily influenced by the Romans.

  • Nazis would never listen to music this fuckin cool. They liked happy beer drinking German songs.

  • Nazi Rally? Sounds more like a Nazi Death-March.

  • @MrMetallicMentality Define Nazi Death-March.

  • @MrMetallicMentality A ritualistic marching of Natsiesque individuals striving for or towards a like-minded goal of death and/or war.

  • looks like 126 people meant to hit the like button ;D

  • Ode to Molech, millions of fallen souls marching

  • I LOVE THIS NIN PLZ EXTENDED

  • Lol, am I really the only one who thinks of Gladiator and the Romans fighting in the coliseum when I hear this song? O_O

  • @Moony1397 Apparently! Everyone else thinks of Nazis!

    Kudos to you, sir.

  • @Moony1397 That's odd, I actually picture the scene from Shakespeare's Julius Ceasar where the Crowds tear Cinna the poet apart. I love how we got to Rome through two completely different paths! :)

  • @Moony1397

i Think more of an invading army. like the nazi

  • love it, and yes first thing i thought of was nazis and war and killing and all that fun stuff we dream up

  • Listening to this while i play classic doom and counter strike

  • I wake up to this song every morning

  • so deep an dark , love it ! :D

  • Disturbing, yet fascinating.

  • very thin white duke

  • Hey kewl zero dislikes u don't see that very often

  • @xrustynailsx 1 and counting because there will be more. because somone will be dumb enough to click a dislike.

  • @CCTXGABE

    jinx box

  • @dylanskriloff um............., i suppose? not exactly getting what you mean there.

  • It sounds like something grand and twisted. Like some dark circus or something. Love it.

  • @SaturatedLife1 Haha exactly! It's night at a carnival, all the rides are operating but no one's there...

  • @Sean19a7x2 Yeah or like a parade with Jester from Devil May Cry 3 leading. That's what I keep thinking about.

  • unf!

  • My favorite instrumental song on this album.

  • It's funny that most people associate this song with Nazi's. I have seen numerous videos of this on youtube and have read the comments of users associationg this with Nazi's. Tha's the first thing I thought of WHEN I FIRST HEARD THIS SONG, before I have read the comments or saw videos of this to Pink Floyd"s The Wall with the marching hammers. Trent Reznor is a true musical genius that does not get enough credit.

  • sounds like a bunch of youtube commentators dying to be heard

  • if you subscribe to the theory that Pink Floyd's 'The Wall' being a prototype or basis for the Fragile, then certainly, the Nazi Rally imagery is applicable. personally, to me, it sounds like an American street parade from hell.

  • @Sanisaninja, "...an American street parade from Hell" XD That, sir, is metal.

  • @Plummlets Oh, I'm VERY Metal.

  • Seems more like Dante's Inferno in song. But then again, the singing doesn't exactly help to sway against the army image either.

    :/

  • reminds me of command and conquer!

  • For some reason I think of M. Bison when I hear this song.

  • @Jdub14000 Oh, yes, I never thought of that until you said it, lol.

  • @bluephreakr LOL I know right!

  • I love how an instrumental, with no lyrics to go off of, can set peoples imaginations to work. And all the thoughts are generally the same. Thank you Trent.

  • @bioshockt

I agree, and that's why I absolutely love Instrumentals, they can help you, relax, dream, and imagine, instead of paying close attention to the lyrics

  • @gatheringleaves Hey, lyrics have big importance in music too.

Try taking a closer listen to some of your favorite songs some time; Their lyrics and possible meanings might blow your mind.

  • @bluephreakr

Yes, some of them have good or interesting lyrics, but they dont absolutely need lyrics to make it a good song, and people who think that they do are closeminded in my opinion, there are plenty of great instrumentals out there just as good as songs with lyrics

  • the only track from an album that can have somebody burst into your room, asking "WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON IN HERE!?!"

  • @PanamanianBlackJew XD aakjkajak great! and you with this face ">8D"

  • @PanamanianBlackJew I know, right. Everytime I play this song, people are like 'What the hell are you listening to?'

  • @PanamanianBlackJew My mom totally did that!

  • @PanamanianBlackJew Room? I get that in a paid condo

  • Imagine how fueled up you would be for the day if you had this is as an alarm tone. You would be ready to march in and conquer everything.

  • This is a protest song.

  • This the sound of war and destruction. Bombs going off, people getting shot.

The angry marches. Then the sound of victory at the end. Could be for a good cause or a bad cause.

  • this is the song im playing when the revolution comes...Fuck the government

  • Riots, nazi marches, & Black Friday.

    Oh my!

  • I picture a silly old fat green troll, leading an army of monsters down a modern day road. Every time a new instrument comes in, I see another group of monsters join the march.

  • I guess mine is pretty off the hinges, but I imagine small toys fighting a dragon and a fat roman queen on the end of a mountain, chanting and moaning... I can imagine one of the toys, the jack-in-the-box, weilding a sword and slaying the dragon... Then when the sound changes toward 2:00 mark, they have won and ran back home to all the other toys near the red carpet under a christmas tree... O.o

  • I can picture a group trying to overthrow the American Government, marching through the streets of Washington DC, into the White House... of course, there is no way in hell it would be that easy xD "oh please, come right in!" LOL!

  • I run to this. Amazing.

  • October 1917

  • When I think of this, I think of some Nazi rally. What made me laugh my ass off is how I listened to this and saw an ad for a holocaust tour! HHHHHHAAAAAAAAAA!!!

  • March of the Nazis!!!

  • Wnen i take controll of earth this will be my victory march. Don't worry ti will be cool, I plan to give out t-shirts.

  • @DuesPayed Now wait a second, what are these t-shirts going to feature? A smiley face or something like a Jew Star?

  • Honestly, this makes me think of the Reichstag siege scene in CoD: WAW.

  • a great insturmental song. The Fragile kicks so much ass.

  • Makes me think of the cold, emotionless chants of the Nazis. Driven by hatred and rage.

  • @IntergalacticFetus99 How can they be cold and emotionless if they're driven by hatred and rage?

  • @Drunkihorse Because Hitler was a two faced ass hole who was actually either Jewish or Czechoslovakian and didn't have blond hair.

  • @IntergalacticFetus99 Sorry about what happened to you during world war 2 then. I didn't realize you were a nazi.

  • @Drunkihorse Lmfao teehee, you think so? I do have the superior blond hair and the superior blue eyes ;3

  • o yea, no doubt, i always called this song hitlars death march, high boots, stomping, waveing flags, crowds goin insain, love it.

  • * trent is so awsome *

  • Guys. Read the comments. Thinking this sounds like some sort of Nazi rally is not uncommon, so stop saying it's so weird.

  • @LeAnLiKeAwAfFle i think the "Nazi Rally" thing was on purpose

  • @LeAnLiKeAwAfFle HEY DOESNT THIS SOUND LIKE A NAZI RALLY!?

    TROLOLOLOOLOL

  • This sounds very weird but true but this song made me thing of the nazi rally and then toward the end it just sounded like someone getting murrdered in the strobe lights at a dance club and onone could do anything about it. Sounds messed up but very true. I love that when it gets to the end it sounds like indians then like a bull going to chrage at a man then him moving and eerything being okay. I love this song to death but just can picture everything going on at once sounds so weird but ture.

  • @roxyfoxyjay learn how to write something original....BUT FIRST...learn how to spell.....

  • This made me think of at first the nazi rallies then it sounds weird but ture toward the end of someone getting killed with strobe lights and cant do anything about it just standing there and wating it happen with nothing to do and screaming. It has made me think of everything but that was about the main thing weird but true

  • ladyrayray1..Ha Ha Like it..Greetings from Norfolk, England to you there in Atlanta. Isnt it great to know music really is universal..........Keep going...

  • @ladyrayray1 wow....is that good wow...wow or bad wow...wow......x

  • The sound of legions of Roman centurions and Third Reich nazis marching en masse. Brought back from the dead and together by virgin girls in a naked midnight ceremony to fight at their bidding. Or is that just me?

  • This is the sound of totalitarianism on the march.

  • @ladyrayray1 yup yup.. reznor is doing his thing with the leftist nazi nwo regime. seems he has an intuition., not that the right wing is any better,

  • @letsgoforajoyride The Nazis were a fascist group. Fascism is the extreme right wing. There's no such thing as a "Leftist Nazi."

  • @yourmom416 Nazi = National Socialist Workers' Party of Germany.

They were the same tired, collectivist, Statist ideas rebranded. Omnipotent government with no limits, individual rights sacrificed, government stealing whatever it wanted from those who earned and created to reward nonproductive but politically favored groups, etc.

  • @bobbytimberlake

You don't know much about Nazi Germany, do you? For all the "rights" sacrificed (only in the jewish media's minds), Hitler sure had a damn high approval rating his entire time in office. But yeah, that government was so nasty that even as Germany was falling, barely any dared oppose it. I guess in all your minds, giving up half of Europe to the Bolsheviks was better than making peace with Germany after France fell. Mindless morons.

  • @LokiusMaximus deerp

  • @LokiusMaximus You'll have to forgive him. Everything he knows about National Socialism he unquestioningly accepted from the textbooks. Not that American history textbooks are BIASED or anything.

  • Love the drum solo at the end, amazing!

  • This song is a Nazi.

  • @ladyrayray1 haha me too!

  • it makes me think of when the communists rose to power in Russia!

  • Finally i found my personal nine inch nails "hit" for today! XD ;-D

  • I think of the Romans parading through Rome with the spoils of Jerusalem.

  • I like how there is a google ad for jersey boys and the cover girl official site displayed for this video.

  • This is the song that is played just after Hitler had a speech.

  • I just figured it out. The reason why movies and other shit always uses NIN is because he has so much meaning in every one of his songs. He doesn't even need to always put lyrics.

  • When listening to this think of Pink Floyd's marching hammers!!!!!

  • An official music video accompanying this would have been interesting.

  • It's Evil Empire music, Imagine it for just a second. An army of undead warriors pushing prams and siege towers towards a poorly defended castle while the Evil warlord watches from his Dark tower.

Then after a long and bloody fight the defenders surrender to the horde and the Warlord holds a Victory parade with loads of Skeletons marching past holding his evil banner.

  • I just had a rough experience with a girl, it left me full of sorrow and guilt. I went through this entire day listen to music full of hatred, and just being pissed off. Whenever I conclude my day, I listen to this song, Pilgrimage. The end of a long journey of significance. Everything feels like it has ended now.

  • roman legionnaires inbound

  • This is one of the best songs to listen to while doing some time traveling.

  • This song doesn't remind me of Nazis, just marching armies in general. Why does everyone else think of Nazis in particular?

It kind of sounds like Led Zeppelin's Kashmir because of the bass and drums near the end.

  • This makes me think of Natzi battlefield filled with nothing but tanks and them all sitting on them (Percise but true)

  • This remind me of the Roman Empire for some reason, not nazis like it did for others..

  • Sounds a bit like an industrial war broke out mixed in with circus music..nonetheless intense, hectic and UNIQUE! While I love this track, my friend, on the other hand, thought of it as rather "scary"....to hell with her I say.

  • Reminds me of "Bring the Boys Back Home" from Pink Floyd. Though totally different styles, both got a war feel to it.

  • War or the worst nightmare possible

  • this song was made for war

  • this song reminds me of the Nazis

  • @FleshMan7063 yeah, it does.

  • yeah, Nazis riding on elephants of war!!!!

  • Was it the guys in the background screaming "HEIL! HEIL! HEIL!" that tipped you off?

  • @Frohergeist just a little

  • as fucked up as it may sound i always get images of 1930's nazi rallys in my head whenever i hear this

  • Yes, Nationalism ruins great history... Much like what went on several year ago with this whole right-wing mentality... We fought in that stupid war, and these people rather stick us than build their country...

    I swear.

Iraq, the people, the former President, they can all go back from where they came from.
