was chatting to Bez about this stuff the other day, I wasn't too sure if it was a genuine aquatic plant or one that just dies away. Now I have my answer.
One quick question about Anacharis Elodea. So I got some from the ever respectable petco and they are brown and weak looking. I have them in my tank that im running zoo med floro light T8's a little over 1 watt per gallon. I know and am hoping they will make a quick recovery but what else do you think I can do to speed their recovery along? I have a video of them if you need to see what they look like.
so glad i found your channel dude. i've been independently working on a dirted tank because i had this hunch that chemical ferts are bullshit because no wild plants get their nutrients from a bottle. so stoked to see that you've already explored a long way down this line of logic and with awesome results.
You should do a Species Sunday about BabyTears, Four Leaf Clover, or Microsword and show us how to "plant" the stuff with little to no root structure. I currently have my Microsword growing in a 10 gallon by itself and I'd like to know if I did it right. I pretty much made a 1/2" depression in my gravel and then pushed gravel up against the sides of the plant to hold it in place, if that makes sense..Is that the "proper" way?
And to follow up my story, I'm returning the other two tomorrow and I'm just going to get 3 more of the same cory cats I already have. Although the Juli Cory cats are sooooooo beautiful
Not a good Sunday for me. An injured Pimelodus pictus and Juli Cory Cat were eaten by my turtle = / I'm trying to experiment with a reptile + fish aquarium and all was going well until I injured my pictus using a net(like a dumbass, they're fins get stuck) So he was easy food. And I wanted to add more corys to the tank and didn't have a good size reference to the corys i already had so I bought 3 more and they were a bit smaller. Well the smaller ones apparently aren't as fast. One became food.
