do you have a video of increasing and decreasing? i am kinda getting confused..Oh, and how it look like if you made 1 row of increasing or decreasing. Mine looks really different. Please give me a link.
@BubblePopMystery Yes - I have videos on all of the basic increasing and decreasing stitches. You can go to my channel page and search (sorry, YouTube won't let me link from the comments). The links to what you'll need for this pattern are also available as links in the free downloadable PDF pattern. Just follow the link in the video description below the video.
I just want to thank you for your wonderful and clear videos! I've taught myself to knit for the first time (like an hour ago, haha) using this video and the included links to your other videos of knitting basics. I know how to crochet, but before today I have literally never held a pair of knitting needles. I've already completed a tiny (albeit a bit lopsided due to my mistakes in decreasing) dishcloth. Thank you! :D
@sscourtin1982 At 2:02 in the video, I give you a link to my video showing the long tail cast-on, which is what I used for the dishcloth. Hope that helps!
I never thought to knit a dish cloth! I've done your beginner socks (Christmas gifts instead of slippers!) but I like quick projects and these are so practical! Love your videos, keep up the good work! :)
That's so great of you to share. I have knitted in the past, but never really got past the basic knitting stage. This gives me the incentive to go further and I LOVE a good cotton washcloth. Was given one years ago and it lasted forever! Yes, it's a bit fast, but it won't be once you get going and learn the basics first.
I am using this same pattern to knit a blanket so I go up to about 160 stitches, and I'm changing color every 20 rows. When I finish my blanket I would be having tails to weave in, but I don't know how to weave them in since I'm using garter stitch, how would you recommend me to weave my tails in, so i can cut them and give the blanket as a present. Thank you.

@patobejarano No problem! Get the dishcloth wet, and pin it in a square shape into an ironing board. If you don't have an ironing board, you can also pin it into a carpet or rug. Hope that helps!
Can you go a little faster? I mean sparks are not flying out from the needles as you are trying to SHOW us how it is done.
It is customary that a demonstrator slow down so that someone can see what is being done. This item is for a beginner. One would think that you would gauge your speed so that a beginner can see what you are doing.
@TheDegreeSeeker I understand that the pace at which I teach is not for everyone. Those who appreciate it subscribe and come back for more. Fortunately, there are other knitting channels out there with teachers who teach at different paces. Something for everyone.
I wanted to say I'm a beginner In learning how to read patterns, I was shown how to knit and crochet as a kid did only squares & circles I have to keep practicing til they don't curl up, cause never stayed with it to advance myself, I'm taking interest now. I'm a visual hands on learner, after watching you 3x's & after printing out the pattern I now understand it. I want to take time out to say thank you so much for being such an excellent teacher!! Sincerely Donna Williams

is it possible to knit multiple dish cloths together and create a blanket?
veronikamars23 1 month ago
@veronikamars23 Yes - or you can just make a really giant "dishcloth" by continuing to increase to make a square blanket.

Can you use acrylic yarn also
chdrane95 1 month ago
@chdrane95 You can use acrylic, but cotton makes a nicer dishcloth.

If I don't have a blocking board and I really want to make the dishcloth look square, what do I do?

Does acrylic yarn work for this???
HTsuna27X 4 months ago
@HTsuna27X Acrylic yarn will work, but it won't be as nice of a dishcloth. Cotton is really the best.

@verypinkknits
sorry for spamming so much, i just have a new question after a question, does cotton yarn cost more than acrylic yarn?
