Dear Mr. Plant expert, those are NOT wild onions. They are wild garlic. THEY ARE NOT THE SAME PLANT!!! Wild onions grow in the woods, in loamy soil, in partial shade. They have dark, flat, (not round lika garlic) waxy leaves. They get purple flowers on them. They are mellow and taste like chives. I wouldn't put the yard garlic in an omelet if I were you. You will smell like garlic for 3 days from all angles. I put some in my eggs once, too. Never again.
