Kendall could have passed Steve at any point toward the last section. He was riding just short of his dust cause he knew he was guaranteed the win. Good effort by team Kawasaki. You cant just blame Penhall after bell nearly waded up the bike.

If you look at 2:13 in the video, the guy in the Blue Suit on a dirtbike is me.... Robby Bell was ahead there, they made it seems like Kendall was ahead. And Robby was ahead by like 7 minutes or something like that....

If you read the race reports from Bell and Abbot they basically lay the blame at Penhall who let one of his kids ride instead of Abbot on a section they were pretty certain the Penhall kid would lose a lot of time for the team on.

Yep the Team blamed the penhall mom, for let her lids ride they set it up....!

But the time was gained and lost and basically when the Kawi went down it lost time for good...Kendall got on and had to only stay in his dust to win....not evn push hard....he said henge was cruising...on beach

yea i listen to paul harvey too. Theres always the rest of the story.. And as far as going to la paz i'd even bet on that. There is no way in hell sal is gonna run the "real" 1000 while the world / U.S. is in declining financial ruins. If he does such a thing he will price out the little guy and the 1000 will be a ghost town in 2010. That would be as dumb as kawasaki thinking there gonna beat honda. Hamel is gone god rest his soul , rossler is retired and the kx500 is discontinued.. game over..

So..... while I was @ the Finish podium with Sal, he said the race was going south next year, thinking he said cabo....

As far as Kawi showing up.....they had a lot of work to get all those folks involved, to take on the Honda Machine....

Even with some of the best riders Honda has had the pleasure of teaching the ropes.....

It provided some drama, it certainly provided some incentive to the Honda guys..... who did their home work prerunning.....

I give Kawi credit, even though it was marketed as priviateer deal, it was far from that....to get all those pit guys down there....all the factory kawi folks, a Helicopter who didn't see the bike for half the race....with 2 Kawi mechanics on board.... (what No Parmedic...?, thought that was what the Helo was for)

IF.....Kawi didn't have their crash, and repair time, it may have been a different story..... it was that close.....
