It is not arrogant, it was exactly what was asking the composer Philippe Hersant. It is a Dialog between the bassoon and the orchestra. The dramaturgy of interpretation is wanted by the composer

pascal gallois zählt zu den grossen fagottisten unserer zeit. sein ausduck und sein engagement für das fagott und für musik egal welche gattung ist riesig. ich bin sehr froh das ich einer sein studenten sein dürfte. er liefert unser instrument zu den kreis der gewöhnlichen soloinstrumente. das hat thunemann angefangen. als solist ist pascal gallois eindeutig unschlagbar! : )
