Fiscal Conservative? Democrats are the big spenders? BS! LIES!
It stuns me when in a crisis is so strongly demanding some sort of action, some people can manage to find a solution worse than doing nothing! This's actually worse than taking that money and burning it as a solution. At least that would increase the dollar's value by reducing the supply! Stunning.
There are only two things that are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.
So now what happens? Conservatives concede to an Obama victory?
Why have you forgotten about Ron Paul? Why would you vote for McCain over Paul? And how on earth could you seriously call yourself a Conservative and support McCain over Paul?!?!?!
You concede nothing. You vote for the candidate that will, in your opinion, be best for (or at least the least damaging to) the country out of the nominees that stand a realistic chance of getting elected, and then vote for the candidate that you would've preferred in the next primaries. Voting to at least do that much is your responsibility, because if you don't others will make the choice for you, and yes, that means we might get this BS economic plan. Vote, and make your vote count!
I'm willing to bet that more than half of Americans are ultimately unsure of the opinions that they ardently insist they are certain of, and that under ideal (but not difficult to come by) circumstances that ill-founded confidence would make those opinions subject to change on a whim - anyone who thinks otherwise is pretty well out of touch with America. The end of the narrow and difficult road in this case leads back to that tried and true platform from which our Constitution originated.
Not quite sure how that relates but I agree, and I think it's a good thing. True certainty is often a dangerous thing, which is why the founding fathers allowed amendments, as you were mentioning. The problem is people seem drawn to this odd certainty in candidates that prevents them from admitting they might be wrong, or might have made a mistake (think Iraq). Flip flopping is bad too, and the fact that McCain does both worries be and the pattern in his voting record only makes the worry worse.
You should not be so concerned with McCain's methods, but rather his stance on the issues. The same for any candidate. The most undoubtedly consistent and honest of any of the ones on the stage in the last year was Ron Paul.
If you read back you will see I said "so" - do not be "so" concerned with McCain's methods as you should be with the policy that he plans on implementing, which I find reason enough not to vote for him (doubly so for his opponent). I would say his derelict interests overshadow the deficiencies in his abilities or qualifications.

Americans are so damned stupid it's frustrating. They can give wall street 850billion dollars to bail them out. However, they refuse to provide medical service for themselves. Because Rush Limbaugh calls it socialized medicine. What do they think buying up private stocks and banks by the federal government is? And the tax payer is paying for all of it!!!

I have seen more than a few house sale signs going up around where i live... and lately i have seen a "tag sale/garage sale" sign on damn near every light/telephone pole. I even saw someone with her kids at 11pm putting them up around the streets while i was walking the dog. Def see the signs of the recession and home foreclosures.

McCain said it for one obvious reason. He LIED yet again.
He is banking on his republican base to see that it was just something to say at a debate that SOUNDS good to stupid people.
The problem is that McCain does this soooo much soooo often that NO ONE in the whole damn world, INCLUDING HIMSELF, knows what he stands for anymore or what he will really do if president.
Another freaking error from the McCain campaign. I only think that people are voting for him because he is not black. I haven't met one person who is voting for him because of his policies, just for racial issues. We can not let him win the election.
That is a dumb statement. You know that people support him for his stance on issues. You need to be more open minded. You need to keep in mind that the number of black people voting for Obama is 97%. Don't act like some of them aren't voting for him because he is black.
I'm sure there are ignorant people who will vote for Obama just because he is black. But I'm sure the majority of McCains supporters are supporting him becuase he's white.
The Black vote has always gone to democrat's with minimum 80 percent each General Election. In this election, they are alittle more enthusiastic so we might see 90% support or more. Previously we have seen high 80's.
There have been several black candidates who have run, Al sharpton, Jesse Jackson. There also some black candidates running right now as independents. All of them have one thing in COmmon. They are no Barack Obama.
That's the difference in this election. Barack Obama is the man
very true, I know people on both sides of the coin. I'm black but I'm voting based on policies and who's the better candidate. If McCain was better than Obama then I'd vote McCain, I'm not an independent I identify more with Democrats but I believe that we ALL should vote based on who is the better candidate based off of policies and what they plan to do not because of the color of their skin or who said what, or who knew who back in the 80s. But we live in an imperfect world:-(
LOL!!!!!!!!! only if you could ask the questionS on the last debate......that would be a MCCAIN NIGHTMARE......that he would never wake up from.........HAHAHAHhahahahahahaaahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
Yes, Moron (strange name, but hey, that's an issue for your parents) I do know what a socialist is. Government owning the housing industry. Banking industry. Healthcare industry are fundamental socialist goals.
Obama is so far left that he makes McCain, who's a liberal, look conservative. Am I wrong?
What's bad about having a socialist and a liberal running as the two major party candidates? Are you serious?
Oh, I don't know, how about that I don't want America to go left anymore. How about a turn toward conservatism. How about we follow that little thing called the US constitution?
You do know, that even in Russia they had elections. Sure, both were communists, but still you got a choice. Correct me if I'm wrong, but that's no choice! What we have now is the ILLUSION of choice. Sad.
In Denmark we have universal health care and free college AND freedom, so that's a good example that such initiatives doesn't necessarily bring less freedom. All contrare, we have more freedom, and no matter how bad we screw up, the state, sponsored by our fellow citizens takes care of you. Jesus himself was a bid of socialist.
What's your tax rate in Denmark? All those "free" programs you speak of are certainly not free. Someone is paying for them, and since they're g'ment controlled I can guarantee you that if you don't pay "your fair share" there will be consequences. Sounds like Denmark is well on its way to socialism. Why not? It's the current trend.
Oh, and yes, Jesus was a socialist and the Catholic Church is communist. As you can guess, I'm not a big fan of the catholic church. Just a method of control.
The tax rate depends on your wage, but it's around 50% with 60% as a maximum. And we happily pay our fair share. We're not a socialist state. Our society is based on reformistic socialism where the public sector employs half of the workforce. We have a free market with a "Hands-on" policy, or "State Capitalism" which gives the government enough power to regulate the market during finacial crisis like this, and because of that, we're not as heavily affected as you guys.
Well, you may be "happy" with 50-60% your earnings going to the State, but I doubt everyone in Denmark is pleased.
Personally, my life (and what I earn) belongs to me, not the State. I choose to give to charities, but shouldn't be forced to do so. It's called freedom.
I find it interesting that people in other countries with a high tax rate (and g'ment control) are so willing to evoke change in the USA so that we can join them with higher taxes and BIG g'ment. I guess there's comfort in mass.
But the majority do like. Our current government want's to lower the taxes and privatize major parts of the public sector, but over the last seven years they haven't passed in any major reform of that kind. Why? because voters don't wanna give up universal healtcare and free education. We feel more secure knowing that if we loose our jobs we'll get good unemployment subsidies. DK is the happiest country in the world. Why? Because of our "socialistic" system.
That's the problem with democracies. Mob rule (or majority rule however you look at it). Thank goodness we in the USA have a constitutional republic (or at least we used to). Although, we're at the point where the dependents are outnumbering the producers. Once the masses learn they can vote themselves more "freebies" the game is up. Mob rule. They take from those who have. Those who earn and redistribute. Democracy doesn't work. Just ask the sheep.
Don't you think that this crisis has proved what comes out of "hands-off" capitalism? While your economy is mess, we'll ride off the storm because our financial system can be regulated. I'm proud of my country and our system. We've found the right balance.
Also our social mobility is much better and free college guarantees that it's your grades and not wealth or family connections that'll guarantee a good education.
i never understood how so many americans r anchored to the vision of free market being the good incarnated.. It is, yes, but for the wealthy. I ain't no communist and i am in favour of capitalism, but the reality is shit isn't free at all since corporations run economy and own or buy everything that flourishes.. what is free about it? they have assets from the start so turnin market free favours them, so they can eat up whatever they want and profit from public services that should not be 4 sell
well call it what u want, when big business leave ur mortgaged ass writhing in the dirt gvt is the only one that can help.. tell me if am wrong, but I don't see any of the fat cats that made giant profits outta the last decade bonanza policies offer a dime to improve the situation.. but what the hell you probably think am a subversive socialist right?
Yes, you're wrong. No one forced people to take on these mortgages! It was the g'ment (Clinton, Bush & congress) who established the laws enabling banks to make these loans. Don't blame the banks, blame the idiots who bought more house than they could afford.
Get the g'ment out of the free market (ie: FREE).
Oh, and Universal healthcare is working SOOO well in Canada. That's why you see Americans going there to wait 3 months for a CAT scan. Right.
My son in law was a mortgage broker, and they did all they could to convince people to by houses they could not pay for, assuring them that they would not lose that house. Why did they do this lousy thing to gullible people? Because they were paid on the possible value of the lousy mortgages. What goes around comes around; he's now a part-time bartender at Red Lobster. All hail extremely stupid capitalism!
In your example the guy making the bad deals lost his job. That's the way capitalism works. Now, with the g'ment bailing everyone out, banks can continue these bad practices. How does that correct the problem? It doesn't. We're just treating the symptom.
Capitalism works when people (and g'ment) let it work. G'ment has been trying to control the Free-market for so long that they've screwed it up. Now we're supposed to believe that g'ment is the answer? Do they really think we're that stupid?
As you know, it is famously said that the last capitalist will sell the rope used to hang him. They screwed up bigtime and now they're whining for goverment to bail them out of their bad investments? Oh please, hang'em high since they've put world-wide markets down the drain!
So we agree, I think. Those who take risks should reap the rewards as well as the losses. Problem is, if the g'ment bails them out (which we're doing in the US) there is no risk, therefore we don't have a free-market.
These companies need to go bankrupt, but it's not capitalism that is to blame, it's g'ment meddling that is the root cause. If the g'ment would stop bailing corporations out, with my money mind you, the free-market would correct itself and all would be good in the world.
No SugarMonkey528, we do NOT agree. Governmental intervention is necessay now because the market guys failed miserably and were brining the whole planet down. THEY SHOULD have been regulated efficiently by goverments long ago, and when we all pay the bill it's payback time for them as well.Bosses fired, no golden parachutes..and regulation. This is why government exists; to protect the people, not the sharks.
We have a fundamental disagreement. Is it the job of government, at least American government, to control/regulate the free market economy and redistribute wealth via taxes taken at the point of a gun?
I can't speak for how things are done in France, but that's not how things are supposed to work on this side of the pond.
Our country was founded on freedom. The federal g'ment taking control of banks, insurance companies, and lord knows what else is anti-American and against the constitution.
SugarMonkey, you have a very strange idea of the history of US capitalism. Ever hear of the New Deal, when it was urgent that government took over because Wall Street blew it all? The big problem we will all be paying for now (yes, I am American) is the lack of regulation, the consistent laissez-faire DEregulation over the last 25 years. The private sector, unless tightly controlled, is NEVER responsible for its actions and the results on ordinary people. Let's all lign up for Enron!
Eighty per cent of respondents and no fewer than 71% of those who do not cleave to either main party say Mr Obama has a better grasp of economics. Even among Republicans Mr Obama has the edge: 46% versus 23% say Mr Obama has the better grasp of the subject.
Republicans are not known for being interested in social economy (social values and economics, like income distribution, justice, equity, poverity, human dignity, labour) As their mindset is focused on business economics, it must be extremely difficult, if not impossible, for them to come with a financial plan that would benefit the general public and ultimately the total economy.
Paul Krugman wins Nobel economics prize. Paul Krugman, a Princeton University scholar and New York Times columnist, has been a harsh critic of the Bush administration, the Republican Party. Paul Krugman have said that the GOP has become "the party of stupid" No wonder McCain doesnt want to discuss economics. He simply doesnt have a clue where to start.
The Republican's budget con game has finally caught up with this country's economy. They accuse the Democrat's of tax and spend. While when elected they borrow and spend. Saddling the tax payers with trillions in debt. McCain is going to do the same thing. It's called REAGANOMICS. Unfortunately, there's more to come. BUSH-McCAIN,MORE OF THE SAME.
Actually, given the way that housing prices are collapsing in the USA it would be cheaper to buy the land outright and give people houses. I saw an acre block of land with trees and a huge 25 room house in Atlanta going for $25000. Buyer's market if you have the cash.
Why buy the mortgage when you can buy the land outright at a fraction of the price and the only losers are #$%#ing bankers ? We can always make new banks after all... Owning your own home outright ? Priceless.
Like Ron Paul says - if you subsidize something, you get more of it. Like when Cenk pointed out the person who said that you're simply rewarding people for bad behavior.
C'mon. The trillions created and injected are just starting to work. You can't stop now or you will invite the possibility of recession even though Bushs' economic experts think it is a very slim possibility.
Obama's tax plan cuts taxes "for 95 percent of all working families."John McCain has voted with George Bush 90 percent of the time."John McCain opposed bankruptcy protections for families "who were only in bankruptcy because of medical expenses they couldn't pay. When McCain was questioned about hiring lobbyists to his campaign staff, "his top lobbyist actually had the nerve to say, 'The American people wont care about this.' "
WHY!!!! WHY!!!! Do we even vote when our votes don't even count!!!!!!! I'll still vote !!! But why vote if they don't even count peoples votes.... It' not fair..... So please explain to me Why!!!!!! I'm 46 and still don't understand the voting!!!!! I'm not stupid but still I don't understand it!!!!
Move to California. You're vote might be worth something then. Maybe.
Basically, the great and wonderful 'Founding Fathers' (actually a bunch of adulterers and child rapists) proclaimed that the popular vote was unfair when the population and national contribution of some states in the 1780s was so diverse. So the votes in some states are basically...worthless.
We pay interests on the interests on our national debt.
The U.S. is fucking bankrupt, thanks to the failed policies of Bush/Cheney Republican Neo-conservatives.
John McINSANE's economic "plan"
is like sticking a band-aid on a massive head wound.
The U.S. empire was built on overconsumption, overspending, greed and "bubbles". Now, the bubble is burst and lenders are, rightfully backing away from us.
Cenk, McCain boggles my mind with how lame he is, throw this latest blunder on top of the big pile of McCain blunders you have. No one can vote for him in their right mind, but that Rev Wright thing with Obama is a nice example of what makes your boy scarey. This is if you believe the surface story of politics anyway, I think it is all a play for us to watch, there is no process, just a script.
it shows how dumb all republicans are, they dont care what Mccain thinks they vote anyways for him. kinda like the bible, lota dumb shit in there but yet they still buy it. and if you ask them why, there response is "just because"
AND the bail out already gives the federal government the ability to buy bad mortgages. then JM represents himself like it is a part of HIS program...just remember to vote
The people that support Mccain in spite of his horrible economic plans are the people who think gay marriage is an "abomination". That, and abortion. For some Republicans, those are the only issues they vote on.
If Cenk becomes White House Press secretary you can be rest assured White house corruption will be exposed and also we will hear about Cenk's sex scandals wile at the White house lol
"If Cenk becomes White House Press secretary you can be rest assured White house corruption will be exposed and also we will hear about Cenk's sex scandals wile at the White house lol"
Maybe but the guy does talk too much and that's like crying wolf.
Your always on top of the topics, and you make perfect sense. Now I just can't imagine how many years this will take. It took half a year for Bank of America to just fight to lower the interest for home owners, and that plan doesn't even include half the people in trouble.
McCain's financial plan is galactically stupid for bad house mortgages. Trickle down economics do not work for American citizens. Our national debt has exponentially skyrocketed over the last eight years under Dubya. McCain will be even worse if elected President with his fucked up economic policies.
The Thatcher government had similar policies in the UK during the 80s - let the markets run free. It seemed to work for a while with some people getting super rich. Then it all went tits up and we went in to a recession for a decade and that political party never recovered. You'd think they're learn from history.
I love how he 'suspended' his own campaign so he could go to Washington to 'sort out' the economic crisis, the big-shot he is. Even though it's the result of the very banking de-regulation he endorses.
And how he always uses his 'maverick' image of someone who 'reaches across the isle' card. That's not to mention that the Senate was dominated by Repubs. of course. It's getting old John.
If he hasn't already sank his own campaign, then Palin will surely scuttle the ship for him!
....Ron Paul DID run for president, and for quite awhile, even after he knew the media wasn't treating his campaign as serious, even after he was raising way more money than other candidates.

It's over.

suroj 3 years ago
The Black vote has always gone to democrat's with minimum 80 percent each General Election. In this election, they are alittle more enthusiastic so we might see 90% support or more. Previously we have seen high 80's.
There have been several black candidates who have run, Al sharpton, Jesse Jackson. There also some black candidates running right now as independents. All of them have one thing in COmmon. They are no Barack Obama.
That's the difference in this election. Barack Obama is the man
PoliticsAdInfinitum 3 years ago 4
very true, I know people on both sides of the coin.

Both of these candidates are BIG government socialists.

SugarMonkey528 3 years ago
Do you even know what a socialist is?
Moron.
FrostPegasus 3 years ago
Yes, Moron (strange name, but hey, that's an issue for your parents) I do know what a socialist is. Government owning the housing industry. Banking industry. Healthcare industry are fundamental socialist goals.
Obama is so far left that he makes McCain, who's a liberal, look conservative. Am I wrong?
SugarMonkey528 3 years ago
What's bad about that?
Gourandor 3 years ago
What's bad about having a socialist and a liberal running as the two major party candidates? Are you serious?
Oh, I don't know, how about that I don't want America to go left anymore. How about a turn toward conservatism. How about we follow that little thing called the US constitution?
You do know, that even in Russia they had elections. Sure, both were communists, but still you got a choice. Correct me if I'm wrong, but that's no choice! What we have now is the ILLUSION of choice. Sad.
SugarMonkey528 3 years ago
Are you related to McCarthy or something?
In Denmark we have universal health care and free college AND freedom, so that's a good example that such initiatives doesn't necessarily bring less freedom. All contrare, we have more freedom, and no matter how bad we screw up, the state, sponsored by our fellow citizens takes care of you. Jesus himself was a bid of socialist.
Gourandor 3 years ago
What's your tax rate in Denmark? All those "free" programs you speak of are certainly not free. Someone is paying for them, and since they're g'ment controlled I can guarantee you that if you don't pay "your fair share" there will be consequences. Sounds like Denmark is well on its way to socialism. Why not? It's the current trend.
Oh, and yes, Jesus was a socialist and the Catholic Church is communist. As you can guess, I'm not a big fan of the catholic church. Just a method of control.
SugarMonkey528 3 years ago
The tax rate depends on your wage, but it's around 50% with 60% as a maximum. And we happily pay our fair share. We're not a socialist state. Our society is based on reformistic socialism where the public sector employs half of the workforce. We have a free market with a "Hands-on" policy, or "State Capitalism" which gives the government enough power to regulate the market during finacial crisis like this, and because of that, we're not as heavily affected as you guys.
Gourandor 3 years ago
Well, you may be "happy" with 50-60% your earnings going to the State, but I doubt everyone in Denmark is pleased.
Personally, my life (and what I earn) belongs to me, not the State. I choose to give to charities, but shouldn't be forced to do so. It's called freedom.
I find it interesting that people in other countries with a high tax rate (and g'ment control) are so willing to evoke change in the USA so that we can join them with higher taxes and BIG g'ment. I guess there's comfort in mass.
SugarMonkey528 3 years ago
But the majority do like. Our current government want's to lower the taxes and privatize major parts of the public sector, but over the last seven years they haven't passed in any major reform of that kind. Why? because voters don't wanna give up universal healtcare and free education. We feel more secure knowing that if we loose our jobs we'll get good unemployment subsidies. DK is the happiest country in the world. Why? Because of our "socialistic" system.
Gourandor 3 years ago
That's the problem with democracies. Mob rule (or majority rule however you look at it). Thank goodness we in the USA have a constitutional republic (or at least we used to). Although, we're at the point where the dependents are outnumbering the producers. Once the masses learn they can vote themselves more "freebies" the game is up. Mob rule. They take from those who have. Those who earn and redistribute. Democracy doesn't work. Just ask the sheep.
SugarMonkey528 3 years ago
Don't you think that this crisis has proved what comes out of "hands-off" capitalism? While your economy is mess, we'll ride off the storm because our financial system can be regulated. I'm proud of my country and our system. We've found the right balance.
Also our social mobility is much better and free college guarantees that it's your grades and not wealth or family connections that'll guarantee a good education.
Gourandor 3 years ago
i never understood how so many americans r anchored to the vision of free market being the good incarnated.. It is, yes, but for the wealthy. I ain't no communist and i am in favour of capitalism, but the reality is shit isn't free at all since corporations run economy and own or buy everything that flourishes.. what is free about it? they have assets from the start so turnin market free favours them, so they can eat up whatever they want and profit from public services that should not be 4 sell

truthmouthpiece 3 years ago
Yes, you're wrong. No one forced people to take on these mortgages! It was the g'ment (Clinton, Bush & congress) who established the laws enabling banks to make these loans. Don't blame the banks, blame the idiots who bought more house than they could afford.
Get the g'ment out of the free market (ie: FREE).
Oh, and Universal healthcare is working SOOO well in Canada. That's why you see Americans going there to wait 3 months for a CAT scan. Right.
All hail socialism.

A lot of people was mislead into mortgage that was not adapted to them.
Melpheos1er 3 years ago
I'm sorry, what do you mean by "not adapted to them"?
SugarMonkey528 3 years ago
Interest only payment was a big part of the mortgage offered.
Interest only payment mortgage are mortage for investor, not for "a house for life" buyers.
That's one kind of mortage i think of.
Melpheos1er 3 years ago
My son in law was a mortgage broker, and they did all they could to convince people to by houses they could not pay for, assuring them that they would not lose that house. Why did they do this lousy thing to gullible people? Because they were paid on the possible value of the lousy mortgages. What goes around comes around; he's now a part-time bartender at Red Lobster. All hail extremely stupid capitalism!
LaVendogeinne 3 years ago 4
In your example the guy making the bad deals lost his job. That's the way capitalism works. Now, with the g'ment bailing everyone out, banks can continue these bad practices. How does that correct the problem? It doesn't. We're just treating the symptom.
Capitalism works when people (and g'ment) let it work. G'ment has been trying to control the Free-market for so long that they've screwed it up. Now we're supposed to believe that g'ment is the answer? Do they really think we're that stupid?
SugarMonkey528 3 years ago
As you know, it is famously said that the last capitalist will sell the rope used to hang him. They screwed up bigtime and now they're whining for goverment to bail them out of their bad investments? Oh please, hang'em high since they've put world-wide markets down the drain!
LaVendogeinne 3 years ago 2
So we agree, I think. Those who take risks should reap the rewards as well as the losses. Problem is, if the g'ment bails them out (which we're doing in the US) there is no risk, therefore we don't have a free-market.
These companies need to go bankrupt, but it's not capitalism that is to blame, it's g'ment meddling that is the root cause. If the g'ment would stop bailing corporations out, with my money mind you, the free-market would correct itself and all would be good in the world.
SugarMonkey528 3 years ago
No SugarMonkey528, we do NOT agree. Governmental intervention is necessay now because the market guys failed miserably and were brining the whole planet down. THEY SHOULD have been regulated efficiently by goverments long ago, and when we all pay the bill it's payback time for them as well.Bosses fired, no golden parachutes..and regulation. This is why government exists; to protect the people, not the sharks.
LaVendogeinne 3 years ago
We have a fundamental disagreement. Is it the job of government, at least American government, to control/regulate the free market economy and redistribute wealth via taxes taken at the point of a gun?
I can't speak for how things are done in France, but that's not how things are supposed to work on this side of the pond.
Our country was founded on freedom. The federal g'ment taking control of banks, insurance companies, and lord knows what else is anti-American and against the constitution.
SugarMonkey528 3 years ago
SugarMonkey, you have a very strange idea of the history of US capitalism. Ever hear of the New Deal, when it was urgent that government took over because Wall Street blew it all? The big problem we will all be paying for now (yes, I am American) is the lack of regulation, the consistent laissez-faire DEregulation over the last 25 years. The private sector, unless tightly controlled, is NEVER responsible for its actions and the results on ordinary people. Let's all lign up for Enron!

Republicans are not known for being interested in social economy (social values and economics, like income distribution, justice, equity, poverity, human dignity, labour) As their mindset is focused on business economics, it must be extremely difficult, if not impossible, for them to come with a financial plan that would benefit the general public and ultimately the total economy.
cleo1994 3 years ago
Paul Krugman wins Nobel economics prize. Paul Krugman, a Princeton University scholar and New York Times columnist, has been a harsh critic of the Bush administration, the Republican Party. Paul Krugman have said that the GOP has become "the party of stupid" No wonder McCain doesnt want to discuss economics. He simply doesnt have a clue where to start.
cleo1994 3 years ago

Actually, given the way that housing prices are collapsing in the USA it would be cheaper to buy the land outright and give people houses. I saw an acre block of land with trees and a huge 25 room house in Atlanta going for $25000. Buyer's market if you have the cash.
Why buy the mortgage when you can buy the land outright at a fraction of the price and the only losers are #$%#ing bankers ? We can always make new banks after all... Owning your own home outright ? Priceless.

And how he always uses his 'maverick' image of someone who 'reaches across the isle' card. That's not to mention that the Senate was dominated by Repubs. of course. It's getting old John.
