Hey Trip! Nice fish. Makes me homesick. You will have to come up here to Oregon and go sturgeon fishing up here this spring. Just like cat fishing with rod and reel. Only They have to be a minimum of 41" long before you can keep them. "And can't be longer than 54". Bring stout rod. Bill
You are lucky! Here, in Hungary, the channel catfish is a non-native species, and it doesen't realy grows bigger than 10-20 cm. The biggest one I've caught in the last 10-15 years was about 22cm long. If a Hungaryan fisherman catches a channel cat, he usually throws it behind his back.
@Shiftyhun - Wow, didn't know anybody from Hungary watched my videos! Had no idea you had channel cats. Do you have Wells catfish in Hungary? What other species do you fish for?
@ttenni Yes, the Wells catfish are natives here, and my favourites :). Most Hungaryan fishermen are only fishing for carp, but carps hate me, and avoids my hooks :D. I mostly fish for breams, Wells catfish, walleyes, pikes, or anything what eats the bait :)
@TheC4ranch - If you'll notice, every fish is hooked right in the corner of the mouth. That's what circle hooks do. You never gut-hook a fish, so you never have to dig for the hook! I thought they were a joke until I tried them. I haven't fished with anything else for some three years now.
looks like a nice mess of fish. I sure hope you kept a few of them for a nice dinner. Wouldn't mind a bit to do that everyday... easy living. Thanks for the vid!
Great Video Trip!! I was not going fishing this weekend, BUT NOW?????

@davidcol100 - Thanks, David! The longer I fish, the more convinced I am that those full and new moon nights "rock" for fishing!!!
