I don't know what Dr. Starkey means, Dr. Plausible. As far as I am aware Dillon is a Welsh name and in his obituary, Mr. Du Cann is described as being London born. Rather a queer remark by Dr. Starkey, if I may say so.
Mr Dillon jokes "I hope to continue in the same vein, sir." And then Dr Starkey retorts with "A little more irish logic would help us, Mr Dillon."
I'm a little baffled by Dr Starkey's joke. Is du Cann's pseudonym "Dillon" an Irish name and does Dr Starkey mean that by using Irish logic the defense would help the prosecution?
Starkey is so camp :D

I'm glad he got rid of the mustache in his later years. It looks dreadful on him

I don't recognize this younger Dr. Starkey, but he is rather empathic about his point of view. Why then do I doubt him more? :)
