what do you mean its kinda like the guitar its the same thing lol no joke good video whts cool on guitar if you play in maj scale or minor the shape will work the same in any key
I would like for you to do a video where you are playing the melody...ur singing is good but i need some help with this base line while playing the melody..thanks!
Wow this is the best lesson i got in youtube for walking basslines. Everyone else said the same boring stuff : hit c,e,g,e then f,a,c,a and the g,b,d,b man i got bored with that. Thanks for the quality techniques man!
Great talent man, thanks for sharing. I like the lesson about being able to go all the way up the keyboard, just transpose the notes downward to stay in range.
Jaress, this is a great tutorial! I really appreciate it. It does suggest to me that jazz means changing the tempo, my sheet music is 3/4 time. But using the notes in the circle of 4ths makes it 4/4 time. Which suits me fine. I'll just rewrite the sheet music if I need to.
how to play the fit bass for the song !? what the purpose of intervals? and what is the difference between intervals and chords ?hope i find answer...
Very, very useful. You've told me exactly what I was missing (filler notes stuff) Good choice of song (sinatra is why I took up piano). The voice is not too shabby either. Thanks for posting!
I agree with you..it's just common sense to have the camera facing your hands If your doing a piano tutorial ...unfortunately common sense.. is not that common. @jaressloo
@johnnynoirman yeah. for the placement of the keyboard and camera, it just wouldn't have worked out. i'll turn it for next time... i also did it this way on purpose so that people would listen to what I was saying and listen to the notes and apply the strategies to every key instead of applying the exact notes that i played...
This was very helpful- for cross over genres like you would not believe. That song kinda sounds like Jamiroqui's "Virtual Insanity" (look it up-i think it follows your bass line!)

thanks for the tips. walking bass has always been something i want to learn. this video helps a lot, but obviously it takes lots of practice, especially when coordinating with the right hand. it looks like a lot of fun to play like that!
Haja! Sorry about that...i see the comments, but i rarely actually come to the videos. I'm working on some new stuff to get out to you guys. Thanks for all the comments!
I'm not sure I understand what you're saying. You could definitely do the same thing with your right hand. The right hand is a little easier because you can put the accidentals almost anywhere you want because in the right hand, most of those will be passing notes!
hey jeress, great song, frank sinatra is the greatest, was wondering, can you play fly me to the moon on guitar? been learnin some jazz chords you tought us, still figuring out how but really strugglin. again great vid. mate
