VAC(Valve Anti-Cheat) is an automated program, integrated into some games you buy in Steam. Nobody checks who it bans, and they will not provide you a reason why you were banned.

Basically.. You can do nothing. You simply can't connect to the VAC-secured servers anymore.

When you buy a game on Steam, you actually buy the LICENSE to use the content, and you agree the ToS and EULA through Steam and the game itself. These state that you have no right to use third part programs that give you an advantage. Use one = lose rights

If they 'ban' your account, as in, suspend it, you are unable to even log in on your account. You can't even start your games nor talk to your friends.

If they give you a VAC ban, you're able to play all your games, but you cannot connect to VAC secured servers. And you can still use your account normally. So VAC ban = Partially disables some of your games.

The reason why you can do "What ever you want" with your games on PS3 is because you can't really modify it in any way. Altho, if you somehow do get a hacked console, they will ban your account, and all your games. Also your console.

Steam, the VAC ban only affects games on the Source Engine. Even after the ban, you're able to play the games, just you have a narrowed down range of servers.

And they DO tell you that it affects more than just the one game.

The reason why, is because if you get banned from a VAC game, you -only- get banned from some/most of the VAC games you own, depending what you have. And if you get banned from those games with other security systems, your VAC games are safe and won't be banned.

I was banned from CS:S (Which is built on the Source Engine), which is the base for Half-Life 2, and Portal is basically a mod for Half-Life 2, so I was banned from that too.

"Half Life: Lost Coast" doesn't have multiplayer either, but I was banned from it.

"Awakening" is a HL2 mod aswell.

"HalloweenHL2PN" is a mod.

And the reason why I have Garrys Mod 9 twice;
