@InsaneMixtapes It probably didn't exist in that version of the game. Instead of Lyn being able to use Durandal, they gave her Sol Katti in the final version. They also replaced Eliwood's Durandal animation (in which the sword looked like it does here instead of the Durandal we're familiar with) with the one he has now.

@jokior Hector was never given a special animation if he were able to use Durandal. Even if you hacked FE7 so that he could use it, it'd very likely result in his normal sword animation.

That... was pretty badass. Why did they replace Durandal Lyn with Sol Katti Lyn? I mean... The Sol Katti is worse than the Mani Katti. Honestly, it is. The Mani Katti is literally the best sword until Durandal shows up.

Lyn with the Durandal sounds good in theory(29 str on a sword user is just WTF), but you need only look at Durandal's weight to know that Lyn really shouldn't be using it. It weighs 16 FFS, and she only has 6 con. She can't use it without talking a 10 AS(20 avoid) drop. Eli also sucks with it because of his 9 con. They should have given the Durandal to Hector IMO.

Durandal is Eliwood's weapon. Even in the beta version, why would they give her an animation for it? Maybe they were still working out the plot devices....

I always considered Lyn to be a pretty bad unit. The Sol Kati is a PoS, and her stats we beaten by many other non lord units. (That and hector=win)

@redskullco The reason the Sol Katti appears to be bad is because it's very heavy and Lyn's CON is very low. So when you get Body Rings, give atleast 1 of them to Lyn and she should be fine.

TO get better units do this If your unit have him/her fight units like fighters or warriors, that way they get strength, speed well goes with out question Swordsmaster and such, Defense well knights any unit that has a high cap of Spd, Def, and such will thus help improve your unit by that cap

Giving the eyedrops to Nino puts all but one of her growth rates on or above 50%. No doubt about it, she's the best potential Sage in the game. Possibly in the whole GBA series.

The only people who can match Eliwood + Greybeard Solution are Prisilla, Raven and Nino, who're set to be awesome anyway seeing as they're the only one of their kind... somewhat.

Without any 'roids, Eliwood once capped STR, SPD, and SKL, with solid stats everywhere else, but that was one playthrough out of, what, six? On all my other playthroughs, he was either all right, strong enough to take care of himself but not strong enough to kill everything, or just plain bad. Hector, on the other hand, won't dissapoint you with his massive STR, HP, and DEF, and decent SPD. I give the 'roids to Nino, though, and she capped nearly everything.

ya drops on him is perfect, his growths are paladinish, its like 40 percent chance for most of his growths so if the rng goddes is pms'ing youll get a lvl 20 great lord eliwood that gets doubled by a general but if u use afas drops he can max every stat with ease excluding hp o.o i still hate his guts tho

It's his ending stats v.s. boss stats lol. Hector's CON vs Armad's Wt is what makes him better than Eliwood. Durandal is too heavy. :(

This is why everyone plays Hector mode. He's like the most prone to RNG screwage. As a result, he's also quite prone to RNG blessing as well. My current one has max SPD and 15 DEF at LV 20 LORD.

@NickyDahl Eliwood actually became my most useful at the final chapters. I had used stat boosters on him to cover the weakest lord, since Lyn and Hector had criticals and high damage output, respectively.

Once he changed class, his damage output became pretty good while Hector and Lyn both seemed to be weaker.

In the Hector's story, during Hectors dialogue before he goes to the mission to obtain Armads, He mentions that while he obtains Armads, the others will get Durandal for Lyn and Eliwood.

Dont really accurately remember the dialogue, but he did say that to either one of his allies or the tactician.
