  • Damn! Kickass KISS !

  • Comment removed

  • Both Versions are fucking fantastic

  • paul stanley shreding?? HELL YEAH BITCHESS !!!

  • That new little twist they put on the song at 3:38 is epic, that's what I loved about KISS. They were creative and most importantly, had fun.

  • one of the most underrated Kiss songs there is.

  • @brianintn not true

  • I love the original version, offcourse.

But Eric Carr was a beast! That drumming is so fucking powerful. And the voice ain't bad either. Love the speeeeeed.

  • eric carr is a fricking BEAST on the drums.

  • I like Bruce Kulick's outro, but Ace's will always be kick-ass.

  • The BEST version EVER! RIP BRO!

  • RIP eric

  • R.I.P.

  • best part at 3:36 ! eric carr on the drums! rest in peace eric carr! <3

  • i FREAKIN LOOOVE the revised ending of the song they did for the COTN, LIU and this tour!!! so awesome!

  • what show is this?

  • @9tome6 Detroit Cobo Hall in 1984, Animalize Tour

  • 8 days away from 20 years gone. We miss you Eric Carr. Fox forever.

  • 20 years this month. Still miss him. RIP Eric Carr. THE FOX!

  • Prefer Peter Criss on Vocals.

  • ERIC CARR I LOVE YOU!!

  • Love it! RIP Eric! Love KISS

  • awesome erics voice <3 he was so talented <3 RIP our cutie fox :(

  • This is my favorite KISS lineup, Bruce is an awesome guitarist!

  • This was Cruising speed. Listen to clips from the Destroyer tour, listen to Alive II. They played just about as fast back then. 80s KISS just did it better.

70s KISS often sounded like they could fly right off the rails at any moment at those tempos, but that energy was exciting. 80s KISS, on the other hand, was Built for speed and they were mega-tight.

The energy was exciting in both eras. If you slow KISS songs down too much, they cease to rock. Latter 90s for examples of that.

  • my ass is bleeding when i take a shit. what the fuck?

  • ERIC CARR,EL MEJOR BATERISTA DE TODOS LOS TIEMPOS,FORMO PARTE DE LA MEJOR Y ESPECTACULAR BANDA LLAMADA KISS,ERA FANTASTICO VER A ERIC(RIP)VER COMO EJECUTABA CON MAESTRIA LA BATERIA,FUE Y SEGUIRA SIENDO EL MEJOR BATERISTA.SALUDOS A TODOS LOS FANS DE KISS,ATTE......ADOLFO.

  • Love KISS!!....Eric was a great drumer and yeah he sang really really good!!, I think if he was alive he still with KISS

  • We miss you Eric! R.I.P. KISS forever!

  • You wern't only the best drummer you had a lovely voice! xxx

  • Eric Carr we still love you, you are the best!!!!!!!

  • KISS FUCKING ROCK, EVERY ALBUM THEY EVER MADE IS GENIUS. KISS FOR EVER \M/

  • Props to Eric Carr. Great job. As far as KISS drummers? Eric was more a Metal drummer. Peter was born for the role. KISS is a classic rock band - not a Metal band. That being said, Eric's work on The Elder is stellar. A great album. A total departure for the band - not KISS. RIP Foxman.

  • 9 people are fans of Justin Bieber.

  • aaaaaaaaright

  • tenho esse dvd.

    muito bom.

    kiss the best rock band.

  • I thought them playing up in the lighting rig was the coolest thing when I saw them on this tour (I was 15 years old)

  • Eric we see us in heaven...and then we will rock the world from the top

  • Glam era Kiss!!! Awesome performance as ever.

  • eric carr es lo maximo

  • Peter Chris may have been the original that sang this song but Eric sings it beter

  • love the solo:) they glamed it up

  • no disrespect to eric carr, but i like eric singer more i gotta say

  • ERIC CARR never die!!!!!

    happy birthday!!!!! ♥♥♥♥♥

  • i love eric carr

  • i love eric carr

  • Awwww......... Gene look so HOT!!!!

  • if i could back 2 people from heaven to earth

it would be john bonham and eric car!

2 amazing drummers who must be on earth.

  • Happy 61 Birthday Eric!!!! I miss u!!!

  • Bruce Kulick looks alot like Nick Simmons ...things that make you go hmmmm

  • Happy Birthday Eric Carr!! ♥

  • numbers on keyboard- 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 , 5 nice scenes with carr but most awesome scene on this concert is at 8 :)

  • Was there a reason they played everything extra speedy on this Animalize tour?

  • @patrick989nyc They had "magic dust" in their coffee.

  • @patrick989nyc This was their "shred metal" stage which was the thing at this time. They even made it a point to bring in a younger gun guitarist, Mark St. John which subsequently became Bruce Kulick to reflect the times. Honestly, I loved hearing songs like Black Diamond and Love Gun at a much quicker tempo...really rocked!

  • @EchigoDragon They actually sped things up when Vinnie came in. Listen to shows from the COTN tour - too fast.

  • Gosh, I wish I was alive then to see Eric Carr on drums!!!!!

  • pauls pants are creepy

  • Great drummer not a very good singer.....sorry Pete still has him beat there.

  • @justinhaIochamp but good singer and! he wasnt singer this was one song i think which was played by eric carr with lead vocals (its beautiful for me, maybe peter has better voice but just a little bit)

  • FUCK YOU TO THE 8 PPL WHO GAVE A THUMBS DOWN!

  • people say this version is too fast, i say it should have been this fast to begin with

  • @gojira931 You can enjoy the song more when its the normal version! :) But you're right it also sounds AWESOME with a faster version!!!

  • @gojira931 I'd not go as far as to say it should have been this fast to start with, but it's still an amazing version \m/

  • Okay guys come on just release this on DVD already!!

  • rate  ----> 1.000 % over 100%

  • Which guitar player is this?

  • @hannibalbrown he is bruce kulick he made the solo in "forever" :3

he joins kiss in the 84 i guess. replacing Mark St. John, who suffered of an illness that kept him from playing the instrument :)

  • @hannibalbrown bruce kulick

  • Sorry, Eric was a great drummer, but didn't sing better than Peter Criss.

  • The best version I have erver seen or heard! Eric Carr was the best drummer and he made Peter Criss look like a pussy...He played better and sang better than the little toad Criss. It isn't to fast...it was meant to be that way...when Criss played the drums on this song he was lack luster and he sucked...he drank to much and eventually that is why he was let go. Why ruin a good band with a jerk like that!

  • Yeeeaaaahhhh faaaaassssttttt

  • Eric was a better drummer than Peter, but I still think Peter had the better vocals.

  • theyre playing this WAY to fast!!!

  • Mark Rules.

  • Oh my God pause this at :21

  • @LeMcCHarStar4ever and??????

  • @erickrangelp well at :20 Paul's face looked funny when you paused it.

  • Ugliest Kiss tour ever. What were they thinking? Paul's trousers so ugly. bah bah bah.

And this coming from a Kiss fan.

  • @ThomasSlayer The Asylum tour was UGLIER!

  • I can't believe this! RIP eric you were the best

  • thumps up for eric carr R.I.P

  • Awesome!.. Eric Carr was one of the best drummers ever and he's one of my favourite!.. R.I.P.

  • This DVD is all overdubbed. Great, though.

  • Eric was a great young man. Talented, with a wicked sense of humor and boundless energy on stage. I was lucky enough to see him perform. His passing was far too soon. But, we do have the videos to remember how truly gifted he was. Thank you Eric, you will not be forgotten. And yes, this version of Black Diamond kicks more ass than a little bit.

  • Goddamn the drum set!!

  • Damn!!!!!!!!!!!!! The power of Eric's drumming, Paul's improvising, and for all you haters, Bruce's prowless on a classic solo!

  • R.I.P. Eric Carr, you were and always will be awesome, this song was a great version to Peter's !

  • man Eric's version is better than criss's, and it faster

  • Fuck me, Carr has some energy.

  • Long live Eric where ever you been!

  • i'm a guitar player

but i geuss eric carr is my favourite musican ever

  • muy bueno , pero es mejor con peter criss en la bateria y con ace en la 1ra guitarra

  • I don't like it when KISS are in a rush.

  • RIP Eric!Black Diamond is one of the best Kiss songs forever!Love ya

  • enverdad muii buen video io tengo el disco!! esta bn chiido el concierto

  • Eric was a helluva nice guy, too.

  • I agree Eric Carr was the best drummer Kiss has ever had. This line up by far has been the best, it's tight, strong and boy can they rock!!! I went to so many concerts during this time, I was blown away each time. I also went to several in the 70's, 90's and 00's and yes I'm a huge die hard Kiss fan but Eric Carr was the BEST drummer. RIP Eric.

  • @04407purplehaze Lucky man ,,, have seen kiss all line up live , i haven't any :(

  • @MegaAzharIqbal I've been a fan since 76 been to at least 15 concerts and still going!!!

  • @04407purplehaze cool \,,,/

  • the song sounds wierd without a les paul playing

  • I must have watched this on VHS a few thousand times. It's completely worn out now. Thank you for posting.

  • That song should be played slower....the beat is TOO fast

  • @68bobba i dont think so eric carr did it better than criss

  • @wayneandgarth122 Thats your opinion mate.....the song should be played is it is on "Alive"

  • How the hell can Eric sing, while he's drumming like that?

  • exelent

    con eric Carr

    simplement lo mejor

  • Anyone know what they're playing from 3:40 on? Is that from another song?

    It's so awesome.

  • I'm sorry this version doesn't have the same energy as the original, it seems like it's more sped up but then again I give it more props than the 4 playing now, 2 originals and 2 scabs

  • I like Paul's pants!!!!!!! :)

  • Paul playin' a Ed Roman guitar too!

  • best live version ever!

  • paul stanley rippin a lead thats fuken bad asss bro!

  • @jamesmaro I know right! Who'da thunk that!

  • @kissunion

Thanks. He looked somewhat like Bruce. Never saw both. My first concert live was Copenhagen June 2008, then Malmoe in Sweden June this year.

Have a DVD from Melbourne in Astralia with the symphoni orchestra in 2003 - sublime staff and some songs are best versions ever!!

  • I think it's impossible to say which one is better of Peter Criss and Eric Carr. Personally I think Peter Criss is the best drummer of all time, but also Eric Carr.

    My conclusion would be:

Peter Criss in KISS in the 80's would gone bad,

but Eric Carr in KISS in the 70's wouldn't be that good eighter...

    KISS forever,

    RIP Eric Carr :'c

  • Great play by Bruce Kulik - he' his own style.

Even at fast pace, this video is a blast - 25 years ago and what an energy and desire. WOW!

  • @katisthestar This is Mark St. John, but he was also great. He stayed for one year and that was 1984.

  • This is Bruce Kulick, he was Mark st. John's replacement for this tour.

  • i LOVE pauls little fill before the solo :D

  • ERIC CARR R.I.P :(

  • This was a perfect version for the 80's

  • When Eric Carr plays sings Black Diamond the intense magnitude of his drumming and singing drowns out the vocals because of it's pure epicness Eric Carr>Peter Criss.

  • @Kewln00b Carr was good but no, he is not as good as Peter Criss.

  • @KramerNCharvel hey dumbass, we are not talking about the voice skills, YES peter criss is better at vocals... but come on, peter criss use simple beats and eric carr use a fucking epic beats at all their song

Peter cris sis better on vocals, but erc carr own criss at drums

  • @Tom01B7 I love both don't get me wrong, but Criss has a certain style and feel to his drumming that just "sounds better" to me and he is the original, the one that made the beats to some of the most recognizable songs in Rock and Roll! Peter Criss came from big band influences and Carr already came from Rock and Roll influences so there is going to be a big difference in playing style.

  • he is singing in the heaven.. i <3 eric carr :'D

  • Eric Carr deserves WHOLE chapter in the world histroybook!

  • eric carr great voice!

  • I think they should have turned up Eric's microphone, you can barely hear any of them over the instruments

  • rip ALWAYS REMEMBERED

  • MC Hammer pants, Paul?

  • today is the anniversary of the greatest and most underrated drummer in rock history!!!! RIP Eric!!!!!

  • whaha, I love it when they speed up ! =P

  • they raised the tempo so they could hurry up and get their check lol

  • @Subaro0o Believe it or not that happened a lot with Eric. His style of play is fast pace. There are times where Paul, Gene and Bruce had troubles keepin up with him.

  • Eric Carr was the best dummer thats kiss ever hade!!!!

  • @darkburningstar1982 They were all good ;)

Except Peter sometimes during Reunion ;)

  • @darkburningstar1982 yes but only after peter criss (c:

  • is it just me or did every band in the 80s take all their songs at a ridiculous tempo?

  • @twigagawizard eric had a few too many energy drinks LOL

  • This concert needs to be one KISSology 4 along with some more crazzy nights era concert, plus some rare 80s interviews

  • @RockenRikkiRoxx

It's on dvd, but it ain't cheap....

  • Eric Carr es el mejor baterista que tuvo Kiss. Sin dudas el mejor. Tiene que ser reconocido por todos y por los Kiss

  • man, people in the 80's really needed to learn how to mic. drums. haha

  • @chuckman101

What's wrong with this sound? I think it sounds good.

  • Accord that Eric Carr should be inducted, he was great, but for me, Peter Criss is synonim to original KISS, Eric Carr made a big chapter in Kisstory, and for me is the second best, no doubts about it.

  • @Mssmaimone what about eric singer?

  • @JckSpeeda12 Wow, I didn't remember what I've comented, had to look for it, was in the 4th page! Haha.

About Eric Singer, technically, I have to say that he is very similar to Carr, maybe a little better. He is a pro, no doubts, Singer and Thayer are 2 of the best musicians in their instruments! Singer voice is awesome too, but I like Carr's voice and prefer Peter's one. Singer RULES the same much Carr and Criss do at general, but my favorites in order: 1- Peter, 2 -Carr, 3 - Singer.

  • Thumbs up if you think ABBA being put in the hall of fame and KISS wasn;t is an abominatiion

  • eric carr was the best drummer KISS had and the world had ever known!!

  • yes in the hall of fame they should have already in there

  • "Spruce Bruce"!!

  • damn this is the best version of black diamond ever

  • @TheSTFUfilms it would be perfect if only theyd bothered to make eric's mic louder.

  • tooo fast it isn't beautifull

  • the best drummer in the world!long live the "fox"....RIP

  • the 1977 live version at msg with peter and ace is better. this one is good but not quite.

  • @1949GeneS are u kidding!?! He's GREAT!

  • Eric Carr is the better drummer ever in Kiss, R.I.P. Eric. Rock on!

  • 5 dislikes¿¿¿???... maybe justin beiber and jonas brothers fans

  • @jj3tg93

after reading 452.382. comments about beiber and the jb's, I'm getting sick of it.

I'd like to call every one to just fcking delete comments about those guys at KISS/metal vids! thank you!.

    Eric Carr FTW! <3

  • if eric didnt died singer wouldnt had joint kiss right?

  • @tomisboe correct

  • it feels like from 1983 - the reunion tour, kiss just blended in with the hair metal genre....which dosent make them as unique.

  • how can you DISLIKE this!?!?!??!

  • thumbs up

  • honestly, i dont like the song as much when its sped up like this

  • Vocals Are Great

  • Best Black Diamond ever. Little bit faster and different ending. They should do this more often.

  • KISS is a great band but they are best with an Ace Paul attack. The same way a band like Priest needs KK or Glenn. Shit Paul is better than all after VV. Not to say he isn't great as well.

  • They play very fast and sounds very pop. You hear better with Peter Criss.

  • Much more aggressive drummer then Peter but Peter has the voice for this song.
