I rather do enjoy Matthew Gray Gubler's work, however the role of the hymn baffles me completely. Nevertheless, the dark sense of humor that protray's in Matthew's work presents him to be very extraordinary director, in which I think the directing bussiness needs.

He has a sort of playful but dark sense of humor.

Matthew's best work is in the genre absurd comedy. This is actually quite humorus if you get absurdity. If you don't than you'll tend to think it's just plain weird. side note; mattews work always has a slightly morbid feel to it. (Dark comedy)
