  • Someone should have told him about prospecting. Digging randomly in the ground is not an effective method of finding anything but dirt and rocks.

  • @KrazyKommieKiller Not trying to be 'that guy', but its because they were told in the opening song that gold literally grows on trees. They figured they'd be tripping over diamonds the size of mountains when they got there.

    THE MORE YOU KNOW!!!

  • I love how the word "mine" has a double meaning in this song! :) I've never heard of another song that uses this technique! It's so cool!

  • DERP 1:48.

  • Ratcliffe looks like a vampire.

  • I cant help but laugh at Smith in this cuz the truth bout him is that he was the meanest son of a bitch in the valley! mainly because he had to keep the settlers in shape and workin or they all would be screwed come winter and cuz it was just who he was! X) no offence great grandfather but yous was a bitch!

  • If Radcliffe wanted to get riches, he should have stayed back in England and become a singer.

  • Hey guys, what about a modern version of Pocahontas:

    "My rivals back home

    It's not that I'm bitter

    But think how they'll squirm

When they see me on twitter!"

    :)

  • 1:50 LOL!!! This song's too hard not to laught at - in fact, he's not too much of a villain - he's very greedy, though...wantin' the gold all to himself

  • I've heard this song so much, every time I am shoveling, I just can't stop saying "Hey nonny nonny, hey nonny nonny."

  • When I was little, I never liked this movie. Now, I'm in love with it!

    BTW I love Meeko

  • Well no wonder they didn't find any gold, this whole operation was show tunes and black powder!

  • I only just realize how dangerous it was him throwing them pick axes

  • Radcliffe - Notch

    Wiggins - Jeb

    John Smith - Steve

    Pocahontas - Herobrine

Tom - New player who just got an account

Miners - Minecraft players / Forum users

    Powhatan Indians - NPC Villagers

  • Dear Odin. This movie is 17 years old. I remember when it came on sale here. I was only 6 at the time.

  • I can see Ratcliffe and Tulio from Dreamworks; The Road To El Dorado being pals due to their obsession of gold- this being there song they'd sing to constantly. Wiggins and Miguel saying "Hey nonny Hey nonny" in the background. What is my brain doing?

  • well i was going to make a Minecraft joke but everyone else has already done it

well, shit, guess i might as well comment about something... CHEESE!

  • They were on the wrong coast if they wanted to find gold.

  • David Odgen Steirs is perfect. Radcliffe's animator is perfect. Higgins is perfect. PERFECT.

  • Hey nunnie nunnie!

    That guy is a boss.

  • why does that guy always have so many utensils (guns, shovels, etc.) to throw at his ship mates???

  • @TheQueenOfAcez I think he stood as a metaphor for the explorers and nobility that impressed upon the brunt of physical labor upon the lower classes.

Then again this movie had a talking tree and animals so dont quote me on that :)

  • so many gingers :D JK Rowling must love this movie ^^

  • Not my most favorite Disney movie, but this song is the one I remembered the most. The others...not really.

  • Items seen in this video:

    0:17 Gold Sword

    0:31 Iron Shovels

    0:37 Iron Pickaxes

    1:31 Iron Sword

    2:12 Vines

    2:48 "Dispenser"

    2:50 TNT

Other than that, that's some serious griefing Radcliffe is doing there. The Tribal Admin won't be happy to see this...

  • I'm pretty sure Ratcliffe injured or killed some people throwing those shovels and pick-axes around.

  • @TheDisneyfanatic99 that and he attempted multiple decapitations with his golden sword.

  • so two things, 1) does anyone else think the beginning of this song sounds like final fantasy 2) what is humminummihumminummmi? at 1:00 very confused -_- Yet still I love this song :)

  • I thought the same thing at first. Lol.

  • for some reason i think they were saying "gig and gig and giggity" lol

  • Minecraft: the musical

  • Most tragic about this song is it pretty much covers the future settlement of Mars:

    Mine, mine, mine.

  • Probably my all time favourite Disney song.

    Dig and dig and diggety-dig!

Hey nonny nonny nonny! It's mine! XD

  • what a fat greedy bastard

  • Ratcliffe and Wiggins have the same voice actor xD

  • @LunaHelsinkiBlack Who is Wiggins? I'm sorry, I haven't seen this movie for ages... Now's the time to correct that! xD

  • Thumbs up if you realized that Governor Ratcliffe and Wiggins were voiced by David Ogden Stiers who played Charles Winchester on M*A*S*H.

  • 1:26 to 1:28

how did he not get beheaded for that :-P

  • Ignore that post :) Anyways, let me clear this up, the flag that he holds is in fact the flag of Britain, but it later became known as the Union Jack, but it still existed at this time. It was King James I who had started using the flag :)

  • For ElphabaLUVFiyerro let me see if I cN clear tw

  • i live in this song<3

  • Minecraft Song

  • And he wouldnt see an ounce of Gold since he didnt help us. :-/

  • Everytime I hear John Smith sing I think of Mel Gibson in Braveheart and I can't keep a straight face.

  • whoops! Mistake for Disney!

He said "My dear friend, King Jimmy...", and in the end of the song he was holding the flag of GREAT BRITAIN.

the thing is both James I and James II were kings of ENGLAND, and they ruled before the UNITED KINGDOM was established.

    History: 1 Disney: 0.

  • @ElphabaLUVFiyerro Actually, King James was King of Scotland before England. After Elizabeth I died he became King of England and Scotland. Therefore reuniting the two countries making it Great Britain, so Disney was technically correct.

  • @XrawwwwrX the first ruler of Great Britain is queen Anne.

Also, I'm pretty sure that in this song he means king James II.

  • @ElphabaLUVFiyerro No it's James I. Virginia was founded in 1607 (which they sing at the beginning of the film). King James was King at this point. He did create Great Britain though and united them and created the flag. Although you are right where Queen Anne made Britain a sovereign state.

  • @ElphabaLUVFiyerro When he plants the flag, he says "I claim this land in the name of King James I."

  • @ElphabaLUVFiyerro You do know that Jimmy is a short form for James right?.........

  • The tree could fall on his head :D

  • Never liked him...

  • 1:34 suprise buttseks D:

  • Whenever it came to "Hey, Nonny, nonny, nonny. Hey" part, I always sing that part. Gotta love Classic Disney!

  • "Dig up Virginea"…huh.

  • I love this song so much. When I'm gardening, I start singing 'DIG, AND DIG, AND DIGGITY DIG...'

  • Ratcliff reminds me of the dude for Eastbound and Down...Danny Mcbride

  • 0:37 LOL poor dog

  • Why does he tell them to mine and give them shovels? Then tell them to dig with pickaxes!?

  • @tohrukisame Sssssss...

  • "i'd *help* you to dig, boys, but i've got this crick in my spine!!" funniest line that i never got when i when a kid! :)

  • @Schweetpea1870 i dont get the joke

  • @Schweetpea1870 What exactly is the joke here?

  • At the beginning of this video, it shows a map with the Spanish conquests of the Inca, in Peru, and the Aztec, in Mexico. The Inca are shown possessing gold whereas the Aztec are shown possessing jewels. Cortes conquered the Aztec and Pizarro conquered the Inca, though in the song he says "the gold of Cortes, the jewels of Pizarro..." . Did anyone else notice this?

  • @ashtonmadhatter oops!

  • @ashtonmadhatter Did you also notice out of curiosity that the map showed Florida and Saint Augustine?

  • @ChibiProwl Actually, the map says "La Florida". This is what the Spanish called today's Florida. It means "Flowery Land". St. Augustine was founded in 1565, almost 50 years before the founding of Jamestown in 1607. Therefore, it is not surprising that these places on on the map.

  • @ashtonmadhatter I thought the Incas/Peruvians mostly had silver.

  • @ashtonmadhatter Nope, but I have to say, thanks for the history lesson. Nice to learn something interesting now and then.

  • A Gig a Gig A Gigiddty-Gig

  • hi nummy nummy hi nummy nummy

  • @animalfreakmusicgeek that's the ONLY thing that bothers u? Lol, congrats, u know how to enjoy a movie 

  • I know, when the English originally settled there Jamestown was a mosquito and disease infested swamp. lol

  • its funny cuz virginia has almost no gold

  • the only thing about this movie that bothers me is that percie is white... there are only fawn and black pugs. . .

  • @animalfreakmusicgeek maybe he's an albino?

  • Do you ever notice John Smith is the only one WITHOUT an English accent...? And he is voiced my Mel Gibson...So really John Smith's voice is an Australian...doing an American accent...for an English character. Quite a conundrum Disney.....>>;

  • 1:34 SURPRISE BUTTSECKS :D

  • From someone who has been born, raised, and STILL resides in Virginia...the area that Jamestown was originally founded on looks NOTHING like how it was portrayed in Disney with large mountains, rocky cliffs, waterfalls, and dense forests. It is completely flat marsh lands, some wooded areas, and coastline/beaches. So sorry John Smith...no swinging from vines or crossing a waterfall in that area of Virginia >.>

  • @TheOneCalledV meh, disney virginia is basically random wilderness #(pick a number)

  • @bh5496 I agree :-) But for a movie that is already so historically inaccurate...the incorrect landscape of the film is just one more cherry on top. I still love the movie though for its beautiful songs and storyline <3

  • Don't mine below your feet.

  • 1:34 RAPE

  • The real gold was Tabacoo.

  • im sure that if this was on disney or disney xd it would change his sword (har har har) to wood (har har har) or something stupid

  • The anthem of Dwarf Fortress, Minecraft, and Terraria. DIG!!

  • Step 1 to increasing worker productivity: Improvised Musical Numbers

Step 2: Include 'Hey nonny hey nonny hey'

    Step 3: ???

    Step 4: Profit!

  • @Oregateau

step 3: tear down the trees and make a mountain out of dirt and rocks lol

  • Increase worker productivity: Improvised Musicals

  • Still one of my favorite songs of all time

  • I sing this song whenever I shovel the sidewalks in winter!

  • I love Pocahontas. i found the movie a bit unfair when the settlers or explorers came and decided to take the land from the Native Americans.

  • No not the Mother Earth!

  • HEY NONNY NONNY HEY NONNY NONNY!

  • Me:Four dislikes!? Mom!

Mom: Are you going to kill the dislikers?
