  • Gentlemen, have you ever heard Feelings played by Valerio Minicillo?? Itsa show, is on youtube! Video LA MAGIA DEL SAX

  • In 1960 maybe 1959 Boots Randolph was playing at a nightclub in Evansville Indiana

It had a small dance floor, I went a couple of times, and felt he would be famous one day

Those were the days. What fun back then

    Good Kentuckian man.

  • woould anyone donate me an alto sax? I've been playing for ten years my alto is about to die is really old I've fix it many tmes I fix it myself.

  • good luck trying to find one!

  • In the 60's Boots Randolph played his sax in Elvis Presley's band

  • The song at 51 is Shall We Gather At The River

  • Can anyone tell me what song he starts playin on 00:51?

It reminds me so much of a guy who played that song when we were playing soccer.

    Thnx

  • RIP boots

    we will always remember you

  • The first time I ever heard of Boots Randolph was when I was about 13 years old, I'm now 51. I would play along with his record "Spanish Harlem" on my clarinet because I didn't own a saxophone at that time. I now own 2 baritone, 1 tenor & 1 alto sax's. Boots has always been a legendary music role model for me. I try to play with a similar style but will never be able to duplicate his style or talent. God bless his family over the loss of this talented man who now is performing in heaven.

  • Amen

  • go boots, he is a king of the history! love him, coudn`t he been alive, go go boots Randolph

  • wats this song man?? i have it but i cant remember.

  • its a medley, the last one is sweet bye and bye

  • I have the album this song is from and LOVE it. Ol' Boots is what got me into sax. I was always trying to play like him. My middle school band teacher used to call me "Boots Jr." lol. But my college sax instructor doesn't care much for Boots...oh well, lol. I'm in college, he can kiss it, lol.

  • RIP homer

  • R.i.p homer

  • Hello .. my name is Marcos. I am an Evangelist of Argentina, where we sing anthems as the second one " when there list passes ". It he, wanted that they say to me where I can find anthems as these instrumental or sung. I touch the saxophone. Thank you

  • Man... What's sad is my grandfather & my dad was a real good friend of Boots. =( Rest In Peace Boots...

  • OMG He is so AWESOME!

    RIP Boots

  • OMG May he RIP

    Awesome

  • does anyone know what sax he is playing? alt? tenor? ?

  • tenor

  • Tenor. That's a Mark VI, I believe, if that means anything to you.

  • that is a tenor sax-a-ma-phone

  • Tenor. It's a Selmer-Paris Super Action 80 model. :-)

  • Tenor

  • its not what he plays, its HOW HE PLAYS IT!

  • I wish I had that sound :(

  • Hello Landshark ... Pretty sure Mr. Randolph played Dukoffs guessing an 8 or 9 ... to get that edgy tone...

  • Boots What a legend!! Boots recorded with Elvis. When the roll is called up yonder Boots will be there!!!

  • His vibrato is awesome.

  • Listen to his solo on Brenda Lee's "Rockin Around The Christmas Tree". That solo makes the song!

  • I'm a Sax player. He's using a metal mouthpiece that looks like an Otto Link, but I'm not sure.

  • I could play this with my eyes sewn shut and I've never even touched a trumpet before.

  • its a saxophone not a trumpet, there not even in the same family

  • you should be ashamed, This man has achieved so much in his life. You could only dream of the things he has done and the places he has played. Learn some respect and music history.

  • This is a tenor sax. Your post speaks of ignorance. And if you've never done it before, then no you cant. I've been playing sax for almost 9 years, and I could play it, if i had the music. But he is doing it all from memory. You suck.

  • in my first year learning sax at 43 years of age, I love this mans playing, fantastic!!!

  • If you can still find it, he had an album called "Sunday Sax" that had alot of religious music. I had it on 8 track tape, lol.

  • after 1:09 it is fust perfect! praise Him! the best ever!

  • i thought at 1:27 he was going to bust out into Yakety. ah well, this man is beyond inspirational. hope he's swingin at the gates when i come =)

  • R.I.P.

  • São melodias dos nossos hinos CCB, q massa!!!

Poxa, quem sabe um dia toco com esse swing, hehe

    Great vídeo!!!!!!!!Show!!

  • excepcional, que swing maravilhoso!

  • legend!!!

  • He can play the Heaven down. halleluja. praise the Name of the Lord

  • I felt I had to post because I to enjoy Boots music and have many fond memories of it in my life. I also wanted to offer the following info to lgazzini, and anyone else who might benefit from it. If you enjoyed this song as performed here, it is available on the CD "Journey to the Sky", as well as Boots CD "Songs for the spirit". Boots also recorded "Sunday Sax", also available on CD. He also recorded a rendition of amazing grace for the album. "Homer Louis Randolph III".

  • Thanks for posting this video. I was not aware he had any gospel music. Love it where he puts his on "english" at the end.

  • I really miss Boots very much. He was the first artist I really went crazy over, especially after hearing "Yakety Sax" on the radio. I was too shy to say very much to him when I met him when I was seven years old. Now I wish I would have talked and arm and leg off of him.

  • We'll miss you Boots! Thanks for enriching our lives. I've stumbled on a dot com site (HeavensNewStar) that's honoring Boots with profits going to the American Cancer Society. RIP. He'll be missed.

  • We'll Miss you Boots!

  • GOD Bless you and rest n peace. You'll be missed but your music will live on

  • RIP Boots

  • RIP Boots

  • Boots has been hospitalized and is in critical condition. Do a Google news search. Best wishes to Boots!

  • I did his "Yakety Sax" at my high school talent show, and I must say, he completely blows me away. He is one of my idols.

  • He's one of my favourite sax players. I've been playing for 5 years and i can play most of his songs but no one can ever beet Boots Randolph

  • gracias

  • I was a great fan of Boots even before I knew who he was - the reason being reason his distinctive playing on many of the old Rock and roll songs - particularly those of Brenda Lee.

  • beautiful
