How in the hell do they expect a person to consume in "moderation" when it's in so much freakin foods out there? Raisin bran, ketchup, breads, gatorade, sunny delight, soda pop, jams, etc etc.. the list goes on and on!!!! MF'rs don't care about public health, only their own pocketbooks!
@lauvamojada yes and who is going to benefit from people eating all this junk and becoming tired and sick???? And who is gonna rise tax to "treat" those sickness?
CHEMRISK - a research company hired by the Corn Refiners Association has recently taken down it's YouTube channel.
The removal was in response to negative public perception resulting from the discovery of dangerous levels of MERCURY in HIGH-FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP. Apparently it has become a liability to defend the sweetener.

would be fine in moderation if it wasn't in so many products! take a look at food labels next time you're in the store and see how many products have this stuff in it! I do think that it is probably one of the main causes of obesity in out society today! when i was young, you DIDN'T see very many fat people at all! maybe one in ten! these were the days when they used good ole sugar instead of HFCS! I do think our sedintary habits help contribute, but HFCS plays at least some role in this!
You people have a hard time trying to understand carbohydrates. What are carbohydrates? Mostly just instant energy. What your body will instantly use for work. High Fructose Corn Syrup is a Carbohydrate. Lipids, especially triglycerides are long term stored energy. They instantly turn into fat.
Carbs only turn into fat if they are not used. And the body can naturally detect when it has had enough sugar, not the same when it comes to fats. It is the trans-fats in soda that is turning people fat
Just one note: corn syrup is not the same as high-fructose corn syrup. The sugar in corn syrup is nearly 100% glucose while HFCS has about 45% glucose-- the remainder is fructose-- hence, HIGH fructose corn syrup :)
High fructose corn syrup is banned in Europe. You can find it but it's harder to find. They (europeans) don't have near as many health problems as americans. Think about it...
This song is so catchy... fine in moderation..... f-f-f-f-f-f-f--f-f- fine in Moderationnnnn.
But seriously... it is in everything.. -.- god dammit. i can't believe the government, FDA and the corn association said HFCS isn't bad for you even though it's extremely bad considering all the health hazards and how much Americans consume of it. But you know what's even worse? Crystalline fructose, found in "healthy" vitamin water and other "healthy" drinks. Watch out for it, it's extremely harmful.
You showed a lot of sodas...but finding bread...even WHOLE WHEAT bread without it is a struggle. Trail mixes, juice, YOGURT...yoplait yogurt...you know...the HEALTHY option....
not really, actually no where near, HFCS does so many bad things to your body, but yes soy is not as good for you as people say, but like everything it should be fine in moderation :) (at least with soy it's actually possible to take it in moderation)
Well, as long as you like the phytoestrogen and toxins it provides (unless fermented) I guess so... But as a man I try and stay away from estrogen... as a human I avoid toxins...
exactly, it also annoys me when they say that HFCS "has no artificial ingredients" well.. thats true but only because it IS an artificial ingredient, you cant find HFCS in nature lol.
Yeah, bring it on! The Corn Syrup ads are like the Laramie Cigarette spoofs on the Simpsons "10 Million Smokers Can't Be Wrong. . ." Good on you for setting the record straight.
I'm loving' it. If you are nervous about colas and HFCS, sign up with a campaign to get cola companies to switch to beet or cane sugars at thepoint[dot]com and search for corn syrup. (can't post links on youtube)
Hopefully this takes us to the next step in moving beyond high fructose corn syrup & promoting better corporate responsibility. I'm crossing my fingers and am trying to have a bit of faith.
Fine in moderation. Fine in moderation. Fi Fi Fi Fi Fi Fi Fi Fine in moderation. Does anyone else have as much fun with the Audio Preview button as I do?
Why is High Fructose in all of our food? Why is it so hard to find food without High Fructose Corn Syrup? Why is food without High Fructose Corn Syrup also listed as "All Natural" and cost so much more money? To be healthy and eat healthy you have to read food labels and spend more money. You pay one way or another either up front buying healthy food or as a co-payment at your doctors office.
true, I realized that the next day but there's no point in going back and changing it, besides my point still stands, there are few packaged foods that don't contain high fructose corn syrup or regular corn syrup.
food with the label organic on it usually, also try making your own meals instead of using packaged stuff, also a lot of canned food doesn't have corn syrup in it. BTW organic ketchup tastes 100 times better than the stuff with corn syrup in it.
since cutting on HFCS a few years back I managed to keep my weight under control a lot easier.

Don't forget that even normal table sugar is half fructose anyway - everyone is better off using straight glucose or maltose instead

If all you eat is junk and processed foods, then you really have nobody but yourself to blame for your poor health.
Best way to avoid HFCS is to make your own food from grains, veggies, meat and dairy from the grocery store.
NRen2k5 1 year ago
@NRen2k5 except for the fact that high fructose corn syrup is in bread too.
woadancincolours 1 year ago
@woadancincolours Obviously, it's not in every bread out there. Just avoid the bread that contains it if it really bothers you that much.

It isn't the high fructose corn syrup that is turning people obese, it's the trans-fats they put in that they don't tell you about.
