I like this pattern a lot and I am currently working on a nice fluffy winter scarf using homespun yarn aka: fabulous outcome! but the one thing I didn't take into consideration and I don't recall you mentioning is that bc of the layers this pattern is going to use almost double the amount of yarn that would usually be needed.
