@jo0123loulou to do light painting, you only need one camera that has bulb setting (i think most, if not all, DSLR's have that setting/mode). you can also try light painting with point-and-shoot digital cameras that don't have bulb setting, but i think most P&S digicams' longest exposure time is only up to 30 seconds. it's enough but when you get the hang of it, you'll want longer exposure time than just 30 seconds.
@jo0123loulou to do this video though, of course i used 2 cameras: one (Canon G9) to record myself while light painting and another camera (Canon T1i) to take pictures of my light painting "masterpiece" :)
