@flipkoos. Must not have been too many 6' 7" organists when this organ was built. Must be delightful hearing and feeling those sound waves emanating from a remarkable instrument.
I played the preambulum with just a 4' flute and the choral with a 8' and a 2' flute.
On other bigger organs I'd probably choose a different regstration. But since this organ has one of the most beautiful 4' flutes I know I think this isn't that bad a choice...
I don't see anything wrong with the registration either. It's particularly true of smaller organs that organists often have to make some sort of compromise between what would normally be an optimal registration setting and what do they have at their service. Excellent choice, in my opinion! Best wishes from Romania!
Hi, Thanks for your comment. The organ was build in 1841 by Gerard Wilhelm Lohman (1802-1856). The disposition: Praestant 8 vt Holpijp 8 vt bas/diskant Viooldigamba 8 vt diskant Octaaf 4 vt Fluit 4 vt Speelfluit 2 vt Octaaf 2vt Dulciaan 8 Vt bas/diskant
In 1997 the organ was restored by Sicco Steendam. He also made the 'dulciaan', a copy of tha original Lohman Dulciaan of the Lutheran Church in Zutphen (1831). In this recording I use the Flute-stops.
Loveliness. I'm floating in the rafters.........

You must be over 2 metres tall... ;-)
Or is that organ bench you're sitting on that high?

I mean, the registration is not ugly, she is nice, but I think that it sounds better with a mixture.

I'm afraid the organ doesn't have one... :)

What's wrong with the registration?
