I used to think Les was stupid, cause he does some stupid things, even sometimes he actually says "well that was stupid" but then I came to realize that Les doesn't edit these things out. Like some other survival shows do. Les is the man.

les is just doing the original survival show and had a true surviving concept.its not so much about entertainment but about survival.

two years later discovery chanel wanted to copy the success of les and made a new product for the younger viewers-that care more about being entertaining.

in ur age,its truely weired that u liek the kiddy show more, but really,i wont judge u.

@boxexplosiontv thats retarded. bear grylls goes out with just a knife on him, sure. but he also utilizes what his camera/safety crew carry including their food and water. hes known to stay in nearby hotels, and admits it, and the bullshit things he does would get the average person killed. lemmee tell ya, if you sprint everywhere, drink your own piss, and jump into freezing water naked when you dont need to, youre dead. and I AM a well versed student of survival. think before you speak.

@boxexplosiontv You've got it backwards. Les has no crew at all and will teach you how to actually survive, while Bear has a large crew and will get you killed by telling you to drink the liquid from animal dung and eat rotten zebra.

I like Les more than Bear because if Grylls wanted to provide real survival tips he wouldnt be rock climbing, running, jogging and all of his other stunts that cause an injury risk. If you were out surviving you wouldnt be doing all of that BS. although Man vs Wild is still pretty entertaining just cant compete with Survivorman.

@agenthelios1 but they both are realistic. even though in many cases, people don't have boats because they were stranded on sea, most people have a ship; thus the name, shipwreck. the two shows shouldn't really be compared. they cover different aspects of survival.

@agenthelios1 Did you ever see the episode where Bear went to Hawaii? HE FAKED IT! Search around on Youtube and you'll come across a video where someone is standing RIGHT where Bear was standing at one point in the episode, then the camera pans over and there's a damn PARKING LOT about 75 yards away! Why? He was in Volcanoes National Park! While Les gets some bonuses for survival, they're depicting REAL, POSSIBLE SCENARIOS. Get your facts straight next time BEFORE posting a flame like that.

I love both show, but because bear did go to an hotel in season 1 because of a dangerous storm, you think he's doing it all the time.

After 6 seasons and 90 episodes, he did it only 1 time. You can even see him sleeping in some episodes. Just watch the making of. Stop hatin without any proof.

@Serostern actually, in one episode, it was confirmed that he did in fact stay in a hotel during the hawaii episode. that was the only one. still love the show cuz even though it may be "fake" it doesn't matter since it's a show to inform on how to survive.

@xarchangelx1620 they're both "the man", but only in different ways. While strout survives alone for one week, bear shows us some very dangerous stunts that les wouldn't ever dare to try, even with the crew behind him. Their shows are totally different.
