I just watched the Lauren version of this song, and while Lauren plays up the innocence of Kathy's love for Jamie, I think SRS seems to get the desperation that Kathy is feeling and how she expects Jamie to make it all better.

i love listening to the soundtrack. such expression in her voice. but i feel like her face is not showing enough in the acting department in some parts. maybe that is the way she was to play the role? a bit bland.

She's trying to play down the "schmackting" that is easily done in musical theatre. She is very natural, film acting style almost. Maybe it was a smaller auditorium?

i do not mean that she is discreet and natural (like in films). I feel like at some points her eyes just become empty. like she is not fully in that moment. i can imagine how difficult it is. approx 7 shows in a week? but i noticed this, is all i am saying.
